It's gotten to the point where Juve fans are literally calling for him to be benched at the same time that his PR campaign for the Ballon d'Or is in full swing
Calling for Cristiano to be benched is like literally the dumbest thing in Football history. They should Ask Real Madrid and Man United fans how that panned out for them.

This is why the guy who just walks on the field when his team loses match after match, in the knockout stages of the champions league stays in his comfort zone.

Cristiano will just do Cristiano things when it matters, sit and watch.

Benched? What lunacy. He’s still their most dangerous threat going forward even in garbage form. Truth is, Juve’s style of play don’t help any of their forwards one bit which is why guys like Dybala could only churn out a paltry 5 league goals last season.

Got subbed 2 games in a row. If he's not injured then this can get ugly. He's not used to this shite and he already looked very angry last game.

He was awful tonight. Rightly was subbed off. Dybala made the difference. Good move by Sarri.

Ronaldo left Juventus Stadium early

Cristiano Ronaldo left the Juventus Stadium before the final whistle against Milan, as he seemed irritated after his substitution.

The Rossoneri had the best chances, but when Paulo Dybala replaced Ronaldo on 55 minutes, it made the difference and La Joya scored the winning goal.

Ronaldo seemed visibly irritated at the decision, turned to mutter something in Portuguese at coach Maurizio Sarri and then walked straight down the tunnel.

Sky Sport Italia report CR7 then left the stadium before the game had even concluded, to be precise three minutes before the end of their 1-0 victory.

Sarri has said Ronaldo is struggling with a recurring knee injury, which is causing him to change his posture and running style, over-compensating and putting extra pressure on the thigh muscles.

Ronaldo had also been substituted against Lokomotiv Moscow midweek.

He was subbed twice the entire last season. Now he has been subbed twice in a row when the team was drawing and needing to win. I don't remember the last time that happened to him in such scenario.

He is almost 35 and ball don’t lie, also subs won Juve (not FC Ronaldo...) the last two games so well done to Sarri.

Age and his knees were always going to catch up with him sooner rather than later. 35 is right at the limits, and being a great player isn’t going to magically change that.

This is probably goi g to be statistically his worst season in over 13 years. The decline is real.

And in CL Juventus ended up winning thanks to player Ronaldo got Subbed out for both times

It was the right move

No matter how well he takes care of himself, he is fighting the inevitable.

He'll score two hat tricks vs Luxembourg and Lithuania and all will be fine again.

He better wrap himself in cotton wool till the knockout stages of the champions league..

If he doesn't perform over the entire season, I'll start wondering if he is actually beginning to fade..

We've seen him start slow a few times now.. also, if he has a knee issue, it can't be helping..

Still expect him to turn it on when we get to Feb..

Time waits for nobody. He has been very fortunate over his career. A couple of injuries now will accelerate his decline. His time is coming to an end, whilst he is superbly fit he is only flesh and bone!

He could turbocharge global re-interest in himself by retiring tomorrow and becoming a manager.

Will be interesting to hear him reflect back on injuries at the end of his career. I reckon he's played through far more pain than the average player and this knee injury would've ended most players' careers.

Capello saying he hasn't gone past a man in three years

I know what point he is trying to make but that's just not true.

No one saying it was right or wrong move. What I'm saying is he's not used to such treatment, so interesting to see what will happen if it gets repeated again, unless of course if that was an injury.

The intelligent response to the inevitable decline is load management for selective brilliance but he needs to enter the sunset boulevard dimension as an adult, also to extract the maximum value for himself. The club is competent enough to manage that in the most convenient way for all parties, as they did in the past with other superstars.

He should have just stayed at Madrid to be honest. They still create enough chances for him to have kept up his 40 goals a season years. Benzema looks like he's going to outscore Ronaldo for a second season running now since he left for Juve.

Of course Madrid was not paying him €30m/year net until 2022, so he switched partner for a less glamorous tango.

Sarri is a cr*p manager that's why.

Proved it at England & it's a shame - Ronaldo could have maybe grabbed one last CL with a strong manager getting Juve together but we all knew that soon as Sarri was hired that Ronaldo's career is finished.

Yeah I'm not aware of what went on financially but just from a footballing sense, even a declining Madrid would create a lot more for Ronaldo to score and if he wanted to end his career by scoring at the rate he's been doing, he was probably better off just staying.

Probably shows how easy it is to score in la liga and why Messi's & Ronaldo's tally are so over bloated.

Very bad defenders, overrated leagues, easy teams with the best attackers all combined in to one.

La liga is a very attack minded league, all of the small teams face Madrid and Barca head on and don't try to make it difficult for them hence the constant blowout wins. In Italy they will sit there ass on that 18 yard line and build a wall (pun intended) until the sun comes down. There are not many high scoring games in Italy.

Don't think the league is necessarily bad, but even the minnows try to play football against the likes of Barca and Madrid, which makes it easier for them to score a tonne of goals. If they'd just park the bus like teams in other leagues do, they would score far less I imagine.

edit: @SportingCP96 beat me to it.

Immobile has 13 goals in Serie A this year. That's 4 more than the top scorer in Spain and 2 more than the top scorer in the PL. Goals can clearly be scored easily enough. We've had lots of high scoring strikers in Serie A in the last 4-5 seasons so it's not that difficult to score there anymore. Lukaku already has 9 as well!
I agree it's more difficult than Liga but the likes of Ronaldo and Messi in their prime would destroy Serie A as well if Quag and Immobile can still score the way they are.

Immobile wasn't actually a success in his La Liga loan. It's only more difficult because the technical quality of La Liga teams are usually a bit better than Serie A, making it harder for defenders of smaller teams.

Last season though there were more goals per game in Serie A than there was in La liga.
