Apologies if we have this one.

I cannot get in to it. I don't feel I'm watching professional sport. I feel I'm watching a training match. I don't know if we have stats on this from the leagues that started earlier but I worry that home advantage could be all but gone.

It's bad. I'm not sure I prefer it to no football.

Generally I agree it isn't the same at all and you can see that there is a clear level of quality difference at the moment in games pre and post lockdown (Also in the Bundesliga examples) but we've had 1 and a half games and there has already been a technical feck up and David Luiz being the moron that he is. That's priceless, classic PL and ITS LIVEEEEEEEEE.

You know what really isn't fun? People complaining about the BCD matches with crowd noise when it's hands down the best thing that could have been done and that most people are fine with.

I’ve only watched the city game, so I can’t really comment.

It’s interesting that the people actually paying money to watch live are so key to the whole tv experience and product sold.

Are people going to wake up to there being other equally great sports out there...?

Martin Tyler said earlier that there's has been a massive ratio of away wins in the Bundesliga since it started. Way more away wins than home.

Arsenal getting destroyed and you can hear 'And it's Arsenal, Arsenal FC, we're by far the greatest team...'

I’m actually not minding this so far. Apart from the odd badly timed cheer I’m not noticing much difference. I must say though that I’m not the most religious football watcher. I’ll watch all the Utd games and any big/high stakes games. Might watch more games now though. This feels like the start of the season again.

after a few weeks of Bundesliga, I don't really mind all that much any more. Give it a bit of time, it's actually not that bad once you kind of get used to it.

It is absolutely the best that could be done. I'm not criticising those involved in putting it together or those of you enjoying it! I just thought a thread for those who find it difficult to enjoy it was worthwhile.

Delighted it's back. You'll enjoy it when you watch your own team. That is, if you actually enjoy watching your own team (not bashing, just saying there's plenty on here who haven't exactly enjoyed watching United over the past few years). Think it's a case of not realizing their own true feelings while it's off that they miss it and then expect it to bring different feelings when in the past all they did was complain anyway.

What is this? You think the presence of crowds is the main reason people have previously enjoyed football....?

I hope this is true but I also failed to get in to our Europa League match that was behind closed doors. I enjoyed watching the highlights but I couldn't get genuinely interested in the match when it was happening.

I will absolutely be watching United tomorrow but I worry I may continue to find it hard to connect with.

I think watching other people being invested in something is a big component for a lot of people, yes. Didn’t say it was the key reason but without people there it is instantly on a level with any Olympic sport one can think of which has very small attendances, and people may start seeing it as just another option rather than the be all and end all.

No, not the main reason, but I didn’t say that, so there we are.

"Football is unfair!"
"I hate VAR!"
"I miss football!"
"Bring back football without the crowds"
"I hate this football!"

Let me enjoy something for once you shower of nobs. Make the best out of a bad situation and enjoy the fact it's here instead of sounding like old men who are scared of change.

It's a spectator sport and the PL have caved for monetary reasons. Without people watching it live in the stadium there really is little to no point in playing the game at all. To make it worse though they shamelessly use fake crowd noises.

I'm not going to watch it until it's back to how it should be. At this rate I'd skip the World Cup final or CL final if either were played tomorrow.

It wasn't the lack of a crowd that bothered me about the City game, it was the apparent absence of an away team.

I've adapted to it quickly after watching some of the bundesliga games. Obviously it's not ideal atmosphere compared to a proper attendance, but i watch football due to enjoying the sport, not to soak up the atmosphere or as a background to socialising.

It’s awful. With no fans there’s no energy, it’s like a training match. I’d rather it didn’t come back at all than like this.

i have to say the city game was the best match I’ve seen since football came back. the first match I watched all of it without walking off at some stage. It’s definitely not as good to watch without the crowd but I’m glad the matches are getting played and we’ve a chance to get into the CL. Hopefully things will go back to normal next season and the CL in August should have some good football.

It's everything I thought it would be and even worse. I almost don't want to watch this forced, awkward mess I would have rather waited and had the full experience of the game we love.

This is just a means to an end, I'll watch the United games of course but not much entertainment to be had from this.

It's weird how it relies on the crowd so much to make it feel like it's a big event that's worth watching. It really is just a bunch of twats kicking a ball around in a field otherwise isn't it?

Anyway, these games aren't about football being good to watch. They're about ending it in as least a messy way as possible for the leagues. It's still a writeoff of a season.

 When you come down to brass tacks, it's exactly that.
