Yeah the NPC driving bugs are something else. My favourite being River Ward just casually chatting to me in the car while he mows down about three pedestrians and rams into a stationary car in traffic

Getting a message on the playstation store that my refund has been processed. But it's been a week and nothing since.

I've been loving it, just working my way around mainly side missions and just doing a main story every now and then. I usually go days without doing a main mission though and just stumbling onto random crap constantly.

That's one thing I feel that they have nailed, the variance in the missions is great if you choose to take advantage of it. There's loads of ways to kill people and the different builds actually contribute to how you play.

Disappointed that the choices in most of the dialogue make no difference though, was hoping it would be really complex and different choices would impact what missions were available through the main storyline and not just the side missions. Obviously a massive ask and I know my expectations were too high in that regard, but it would have made replayability a lot better.
I've read that they actually make a fair bit of difference and that its simply well-written to the point where you don't notice, which is pretty cool. That's said I don't have any particular examples.

Just done his “the hunt” quest, he killed at least 3 out by his sisters trailer with his driving

So...I skipped through most of it after the first 2mins of nonsense so forgive me if I'm wrong, but that's a whole lot of excuses and no actual talk about the gameplay/features they openly admitted to stripping.

I don't see that making the general public happier, it's too little too late especially if the rumours are true that they won't be trying to implement those features they promised IMO.

Yeh not a brilliant video but I suppose you have to appreciate the communication. Disappointed that the next gen update is second half of this year at best. At least by the time I pick it up again for round 2 I’t should feel very different and likely much more polished.

At least they made the effort. I feel sorry for the developers personally. The higher ups have dropped them in it making them release the game before it was finished.

Compare and contrast this with what Bethesda did after Fallout 76's disastrous release.

"Every change and improvement needed to be tested and as it turned out our testing did not show a big part of the issues you experienced while playing the game."

What kind of testing were they doing where they couldn't find issues that were happening to people? There was countless memes/bug footage within hours of the game releasing. Did their QA consist of turning on the console, seeing that it loads up and saying "All good."?

One-hit wonder chancers who lost the run of themselves.

That's what stood out to me as well. With such a complex product you would need an absolutely immense QA team to cover all platforms but the issues reported on last gen are so basic that it appears there was little to no testing at all.

And he appeared to subtly blame a product that is almost a decade old for not being performant enough.

They're apologising. I don't see anything wrong with the statement. There's nothing you can say about the quality of their testing of the old generation versions that will ever make any sense.

Hope they iron out the issues by the time I get my hands of the next generation version and that the DLC is good.

Them saying that they're really proud of the PC version has to be bullshit. I mean, sure, it's good, it's playable and obviously looks great. But it's still buggy as hell, and there's still clearly loads of content missing that should have been in release. There's no way it's the game they had wanted to release.

I guess if "proud" means that it's not a total embarrassment like the console versions are then.. sure, why not.

Cyberpunk will be all good in 6 months from now. More then enough time. I won’t believe it’ll be before that. Game was too broken to begin with. I’m not getting the refund because it’s probably too late now. But I’ll gladly keep it, since I want to replay it after all the updates etc.

Still have an awful game, and Bethesda are pretty medicore developers anyway. They've been riding on the benevolence of modders for years now.

Yeah, so that's a terrible statement basically. Lost of excuses, no accountability for all the lies that they told. Didn't really address how they knew how broke the game was on console yet still released it and hid it from the public before release.

"We never intended for anything like this to happen" So what, you released the game on accident?

What a trainwreck.

The game has basically been delayed until 2022 then.

Still playing on XBox One S, had no crashes, no major bugs, frame rate is steady at around 30fps, a very playable game and I would say i am quite far into the game now, nearly at act three i believe.

Either I have been lucky or just not far enough into the game to see these bugs/crashes.?

The city does feel quite empty at times, but the sheer scale of it and the amount of exploring you can do is incredible. Also the amount of sidemissions is pretty decent.
I was playing on Xbox S and was finding when I moved or drove too fast it would crash. Constantly had to redo missions becuase parts weren’t activating. I’ve completed it now and even at the end I’m not convinced there weren’t massive segments missing and that it glitched like crazy.

The last mission was just way too easy. I’m actually just really disappointed with the game overall.

Which route did you take which was too easy?

I found the Panam bunker fight relatively easy but really good fun as the missions were so varied. The Arasaka missions were a right pain for me in that ending route

I haven't done the other ending routes yet as I'm going to hold off for another playthrough.

It's also worth saying that you can miss out whole sections of story if you don't do all the side missions -- mainly the Judy, Panam, Rogue and Johnny ones

Yeah, it's not an apology or explanation at all, it's a bunch of excuses and an attempt to take control of the narrative.

Their studio head announced that the game ran "surprisingly well" on last gen consoles. He knew that would be picked up by the media and reported that way. You can argue semantics about the phrase and say that it doesn't mean it runs perfectly, but then again you don't make a statement like that in isolation and mean anything else than the game runs well.

They lied, they pissed off a lot of people, they know flat out admitting that what they did was wrong puts them at risk of being sued.

Game is still good, though. I'm actually surprised by how much fun it is. As long as they do what they promise they're going to do people will forget about the damage control press releases.

I've had no issues at all, no crashes, had a bug for a minute or so last night whereby I was still sitting down despite walking around but it cleared at the next cut scene.
I did turn all the graphical nonsense off in the settings as I found the FPS were slightly improved.

As for finding it easy, I am struggling so much with this game, but I am pretty crap at games in general.

I'll definitely play the game when it releases at the end of this year or the beginning of next. The next-gen update should be out by then, too. Although I'm not holding my breath on that. But yeah, if you're going to release a statement like that, then just don't bother doing one at all. I know they're being sued by investors or something so perhaps they thought they had to release it, but I find it difficult to see how that statement would appease anyone.

I genuinely thought that roadmap they made was a pisstake at first. The fact that they released this game last year but it's not actually going to be finished - or playable in a satisfactory way - until 2022 is ridiculous.

I feel like I’d done a lot of storylines 6 off the top of my head.
Judy, Panam, Johnny, Eddy, Claire,River
or say side storylines, I’d pretty much completed every mission I could find from
Izzy wizzy, killer dude, Borg collective, Barth and so on. Even the damn monk and the vending machine.

Finishing choices
So I decided to let Johnny and Rogue do the mission. I won’t tell you what happens there but Adam Smasher was dead in about 5 seconds as soon as I started shooting. Then it was a straight walk from there to Mikoshi. I was really expecting more of a challenge from him and the whole sequence just seemed really messed up. Something had happened and I couldn’t find where.

Did you happen to sit through the end credits? 40 fecking minutes.

Yeah, you should have a few choices if you've done all those.

I'd suggest doing the Panam one as I found those missions leading up to Adam Smasher some of the best in the game. To be fair I found him easy on both endings I did (although maybe a couple of minutes to defeat), but there were elements of difficulty in the couple of hours of ending missions / areas beforehand.

Also, I was lucky as it opened up something for me but did you save Takemura as my other ending involved him?

I watched the credits in case there was more at the end / an achievement. Yeah, it's ridiculous how long they were.

I was thinking of doing a completely new play through just as a melee build and as a female just to see how different it is. I was going to wait till I eventually get my hands on a series x.

I didn’t save Takemura, I wish I had. I thought I had read somewhere that you could save Jackie’s body, however I didn’t find that thread anywhere either. I spent ages just driving around doing all the NCPD missions as often I’d find something new would pop up if I did. Someone would call or some thing would happen.

With Adam Smasher something happened to him so he starts the fight at 80% I emptied 2 clips in to him with the Lizzie handgun and that was it, it was over. It was probably less than 5 seconds. The trip down to get to him was easy as there seemed to be a serious lack in guards.

Overall I can see there is a good story there, good characters but some of it just doesn’t make sense and the main story seems quite short now that I think about it. Things could have been better.

Just way way too many glitches.

The game didn't even get to final QA. He said himself, they were working on it daily right up until launch.

They won't be adding in all the content they left out (they might sneak some cosmetic stuff in) imo, as I've said all along they'll get performance to acceptable levels and some content in free DLC, then may or may not go ahead with a paid DLC if people come back to it and play, but those plans most definitely will be on hold for the moment until they see how these updates are recieved (the active player base figures dropped drastically and have stayed super low).

I think down the line the corporate strat will be eventually write it off and to fall back on taking our minds of it with the Witcher 3 update and something new in the related area.

The only way they save this on previous gen consoles is at a massive discounted rate when the re-release it. Like half the RRP.

fecking publishes rushing games that were half baked is a disgrace. I thought MGS5 was bad but this is a fecking train wreck.

As shit as it sounds, you have to give it to Rockstar, they atleast make sure their massive open world games are somewhat polished before they release them.

Problem is it’s a right pain in the arse with Shopto. And you have to pay postage. Dunno if it’s just worth keeping hold or not
Oh, disk version. That's actually quite the pain. Personally I expect them to resolve the issues and add extra content by the time I play it which I was planning to be Aug Sep when I get a PS5.

I'm really not sure how some folks are actually enjoying this game. I find it all so frustrating.

When you just look at it, it looks fantastic, it feels like it promises so much. However as soon as you start interacting with the world or doing anything really, it falls flat on its face and the illusion disappears. It's just never believable.

Shootouts are ridiculous, the enemies do some really dumb things and move around rather awkwardly. They definitely haven't polished that.

Cops appear out of thin air, they don't even have a basic chase system.

Civilians react in the dumbest ways to you committing any crime.

Random side missions seem very repetitive.

The whole hacking system gets old rather quickly

I find driving tedious unless on a motorcycle

I got it on Stadia which gave me a free premier edition of the platform so I won't be returning it as that alone is worth it, but I'm probably not gonna play it again until next winter

All fair.
I'd say the area you start in is painful to be driving a car in but they can be more fun elsewhere. 2nd area near wakako isn't much better.
They seem to be the worst areas in terms of performance too, making them a poor enough introduction to the game. City Centre is much more spread out despite the huge buildings and most other areas are basically suburb or badlands that the game handles much, much better. Watson in particular is packed really tightly and is quite busy.
I'd avoid most random missions, you might stumble on the occasional fun one (I loved the vending machine quest, Brendan I think?) but most are go here, kill stuff, repeat. And they'll just over level you for the much more interesting story missions. Which are better scripted in terms of enemy encounters and do a better job of hiding the simplistic enemy ai.
I ended up doing all the random missions and NCPD crimes after finishing the story because I quite enjoyed the game despite everything. It does feel like theres been gradual improvements in performace over the past month on PC too. So thats a reason for optimism in terms of long term performance. I've spent way too long playing it to feel like refunding at this point.
