Going out of my mind with football withdrawal, gonna try these daily to have something fun to discuss:

Today's Rules:
1. Pick 20 teams (2 keepers) to try to win the Treble. We'll assume it's a normal season even post-Corona.

2. One player per team and one per nationality so that everyone doesn't pick the same guys. So if you pick Lingard for some reason you can't pick any more English or Manchester United players.

3. Your goal is to win everything, so injuries/durability matter.

4. The following players are banned because they'd get picked a ton since they're obvious choices and that's boring:
De Bruyne
Son
Pulisic
Aubameyang
Jimenez
Grealish

5. Pick a manager, let's say anyone out of work at the moment except Pochettino. Good list here: https://www.transfermarkt.com/trainer/verfuegbaretrainer/statistik

Not sure the they're winning any trebles any time soon, but the best I can pull out of my arse with the rules as they are...

-----------------------Kane-------------------------
Zaha------------------------------------Mahrez
-------------Fernandes--Kante---------------
------------------Dendoncker ------------------
Kolasinac-Evans-Van Dijk-Coleman
--------------------Fabianski---------------------

Ryan, Masina, Schar, Berge, McGinn, Brooks, Pukki (Vestergaard, Wood)

Manager: Allegri

...............Pogba........Kovacic.................

...........................Rodri............................

Lewis......Soyuncu......Van Dijk...........Yedlin

......................Rui Patricio...........................

Subs: Randolph, Bednarek, Retsos, Schelotto, McGinn, Lerma, Sarr, Ozil , Wood.

My team:

-------------------------------Sergio Aguero-------------------
--------Richarlison---Bruno Fernandes------Wilfried Zaha
------------------N'Golo Kante--Youri Tielemans---------
Kieran Tierney- Virgil VanDijk--Davinson Sanchez---Max Aarons
--------------------------------Matt Ryan---------------------

Chris Wood
Adama Traore
David Brooks

Aaron Mooy
Pierre Emile Hojbjerg
Sander Berge

Adam Masina
Fabian Schar

Tomasz Fabianski

-Aguero and Wood is a nice striker combo since Wood is useful as an aerial option, though Richarlison is really the backup 9 with Adama Traore coming in to start and Zaha shifting to LW.

-Kante and Tielemans is a nice fit together with a ball-winner and a passer

-Couldn't find a backup RB so it's Adama Traore when we wanna attack and probably Hojbjerg or Schar or Tierney (with Masina coming in) otherwise.

-Can go 3 at the back with Schar or Berge coming in or Tierney playing LCB like he does at times for Scotland and either Adama as a wingback or Masina if you want to go with a more defensive option

Manager: Don't love Allegri so I'll go with Marcelino

We went similar midfield, but I'm not convinced by Dendoncker at all really and same for Kolasinac. Evans good pick, thought about that one. Very similar bench and I think Pukki is a good pick since his style of play (poor man's Vardy basically) makes me think he's for real. I had Kane in originally but the injury record now scares me. Had to drop Mahrez to do that and I do thin he's better at RW than Pepe or Zaha who are the other choices.

You think Lewis is already good? Tons of potential but I think he's been one of the main reasons they've conceded so much.

Love Bednarek, had him starting as Van Dijk's partner originally. Probably should have risked it and made Kane my backup striker and just found a non-english RB like you did.

Great midfield. Kinda sleepy but technically brilliant.

I agree with you. Had him there because I ran out of options and also hoping VVD and Soyuncu are enough to bail him out defensively.

Yes my midfield was built on technicality rather than graft that’s why I went with Valverde as the manager. Also when graft is needed, I can bring in Lerma and McGinn. :)

Yeah, couldn't think of a holding midfielder or a left back to save my life beyond the bigger club slots I wanted to use further forward :(

Zaha has scored 3 league goals in 29 matches this season. I remember when CP wanted £100m for him in the summer window.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Richarlison Aguero Zaha
Ozil
Kante McTominay
Ake Soyuncu Alderweireld A-Arnold
Rui Patricio

Subs: Pukki,...
Manager Allegri
Captain Alderweireld
VC Kante

A balanced combination of players I think. Kante and McT are crucial in foundation with their energy to cover everything especially RB and help support the team in attack but mainly defence. TAA and Ozil mainly to create. Aguero to lead and finish supported by two pacy and tricky attackers. Plenty of targets for the creators to feed. Pukki to be super sub and cover Aguero until he's back from injury. Ake to create extra CB and support attack a bit ala Wes Brown.

May just nick it a treble, probably.

Yeah I had Aurier and then Pepe as my Ivorian, I think at gunpoint I'd take Pepe for next season at RW since Zaha is better at LW

I prefer my team still but I'm naming this team the winger for creativity despite the horrific laziness of not naming a bench. Love the setup with a defensively strong team with 2 passers and fullbacks pushing on, and Puuki seems decently suited to Zaha and even Mahrez preferring low crosses to high ones.

Pogba would have to be incredible but I think Moutinho and N'Didi is a perfect setup for him and even Puuki and TAA fit him. And he is in his prime and was maybe the best player overall in the 2018 World Cup so feck it.
