I think he's the best player out of the three young CM's pushing for a squad place(him, Collyer and Devaney).

I'd like to see him and Mount as that fourth CM option. See how he goes.

But I think there's a danger he'll be regarded as too small.

Way too risky to be 4th choice imo.

I think we should keep one of him or Thwaites as the "5th Midfielder" Role. Get appearances in Cup/European games. The other sent out on a Championship Loan.

Well as I say it'd be in conjunction with Mount as the 4th choice.

But if any I think Devaney will take that role.

Don't think Mount should be used as CM, don't like him there. Should be the Bruno back-up.

Devaney is interesting because he can fill in multiple roles, so game time would be his priority, but being around the 1st team this year and making an odd appearance will probably his actual fate. Maybe we'll keep him until winter and see where the team is by then

Back to Gore, I hope he gets a shot this year, I think he's better than we think, and hopefully he does well enough that we sell Mount next summer.

Can't see him being in pre season if out of contract.

We played Devaney out of position at CB. Can't see us doing that to accommodate a player who is about to leave on a free.
Fair point, unless he’s got a month or 2 left and they are assessing what to do?

I hope he stays fit. When fully fit he and Kobbie were dynamic togtether in the youth teams. He and Tielemans will share the defensive midfield role, and he could be cover for Kobbie

Very impressive display from him in terms of positioning and anticipation, actually think he was an upgrade on Mount/Santos.

I like him a lot. Did he manage to stay fit last season?

Happy that he got some minutes and hopefully he can show the full range of his talents as he is as combative as he is skilled and composed. Heard Carrick talk about controlling the midfield more and I think he can play a part. Similar to what I think Tielemans will bring to the team.

What's happening with him then? Do we not rate him because of size?

Apparently having a medical at Luton. How good is he?
I think he was pretty well thought of coming through playing alongside Mainoo in the youth team. Got a sub appearance in a league cup tie when we were 3 up a few years back and remember thinking he looked pretty assured.

Since then loads of injuries before he finally managed to get himself some games last season. There’s a player there at that level and for him, I imagine it’ll be pretty appealing learning off Wilshire.

Is it a loan or permanent?

Loan. We just let Saville go so we're light in that area so a move for him makes sense.

Was really highly rated a while back, faltered a bit after an injury but has a lot of ability. Hope he kicks on.

Good young player, but a bit more slight and lightweight than Mainoo. Possibly a slightly better passer. But he's had injury problems since he impressed at the same time in preseason as Mainoo a couple of summers ago. So now it looks like he's not figured into first team plans and didnt look like a premier league move would be happening either. I'm hopeful he can do well in League 1 and will at least be a championship player. For him, I hope he makes the premier league eventually.

Before his injury issues

Edit - They both did better than Garner that preseason and we would then go on to sell him to Everton. Might have already been on the cards but having the young ones look a bit more promising in preseason (plus the midfielders we already had being rated by the staff at the time) probably sealed it, so we never really got to see Garner given a proper go in the premier league for us.

Signed on loan. Will update here if he does well or falls in line with our useless squad.

Was hoping he’d get a championship club.
Are Luton one of the favorites for promotion?

This!

He's always impressed me every time he's had a chance with the first team. Surely he's good enough for a championship club?

keeps leaving a lot of gaps in midfield that the home fans have taken to calling “goreyholes.”
