Look at him today, away to the champions of England. Massive strides he's made in such a short time. Looks every inch the United player. The very embodiment of Ole's vision of the future. Such as it is. Confidence, workrate, pace, excitement.

What a signing he has been

Even when he's not the stand-out player on the pitch, he's still bringing so much to the game, lifting everyone around him. So happy we have him.

Can we please have Martial and Rashford anticipate more of his crosses? Feels like James would be on around 7-10 assists already for the season if he were supplying Salah/Mane/Aguero.

This, need to make those runs with him, and expect a cross to come in. Especially one of Martial and whoever is playing behind him. One of them needs to attack the front post, which we really do not do as much.

I don't understand why they don't expect it to come in when he does it pretty much every game? Martial is almost always behind the cross and Rashford is usually nowhere to be found either.

Thought he was brilliant today, especially with his workrate. Also have been impressed with how composed he is becoming with with his final ball. Looks like a proper Utd player!

Wonder if in a few years he could be Utd's best bargain ever...even eclipsing Cantona!

To be fair, Martial is the one playing him through when he drops deep most of the time.

The other times, yeah, he needs to be getting on the end of them.

Yeah our attackers need to anticipate his crosses better and burst into that box.

He's delivered some cracking crosses lately.

He's been a great signing.

He’s been brilliant since he joined. Constant menace and great attitude to the game. Needs to score more goals, but that will come. A better forward would have drilled the ball to the far bottom corner for his shot today, but he just hit it really in the general direction of the goal. Was actually a very good chance.

He haves the best attitude and work ethic I’ve seen, he runs his socks off every game all game.

Always tracks back and never complains, wish he stop with the diving though. A couple of times he dived in our half trying to cheat the referee, not an honorable thing to do.

True but he’s the best we got. They could all rotate.
How can you watch today’s game and think Rashford is our better 9. Rashfords performance out left have been outstanding.

He terrifies full backs. He will blitz anyone in the league in a sprint.

His excellent crosses are wasted on our strikers who won't gamble. Someone like Chicharito at his peak would score a decent amount from his crosses.

I honestly would just love to see the three of them playing together. Running at defences I think it would be great.

To be fair he was MOTM there for Swansea too in the fa Cup. Clearly likes the etihad.

I absolutely love the guy. His speed just drives out tempo up and drags everybody else with him.

with his attitude and work ethic you’re guaranteed at least a decent performance from him every match. What a signing.

I thought the way he waited for the right pass on that final counter showed some maturity in his game. His work going backwards is always good.

This guy is very interesting, no? His speed is one thing, but it looks like he's able to make the defender go nuts by having a low gravity center. If we can get goals or assists again too, this will become insane. And that's automatism.

He is such an effective player, even without the end product. He is incredibly easy to stop for the opposition they only need to give up full control of the midfield and sit back while avoiding sending people forward to not give him space. He is very important to this team, more than he is being given credit for.

James pretty much exemplifies the kind of attitude we need from players in this rebuild. He's obviously a speed demon and a very important player for us on the break, but it's so refreshing to see a player showing the kind of desire he does to win the ball back out of possession as well.

Get a few more of that ilk in around him and we'll have the basis of a very solid team.

Great player. Seems to have a very steady game. You know exactly what you're going to get with him already.

Has a very steady technique which makes it very consistent. Combine that with his pace and workrate and he's just a really good players. Like a Dennis Irwin of wingers, maybe not the star of the show but a good 7 or 8 out of ten every week.

Like Rashford, wasted many chances but also created many more chances.

Just amazing that six months ago, he was just a championship winger.

Genuinely love this guy. £15m has bought us a brilliant little player who works hard every minute of every game.

A major hole in our team has been filled and we look so much better for it. He’s really improved our shape and attacking threat.

It will be interesting to see if he can keep improving too.

It must be horrible to play against him. He’s like a little terrier trying to steal the ball all the time, never slowing down. Great performance.

The £15M we paid Swansea for him has to be bargain of the season. What a fantastic wee player he is!

Another terrific performance from him yesterday. Worked his erse off. Angelino struggled 1v1 with him throughout. His link-up play with Martial was terrific.

His tenacity and pressing has surprised me. Ultimately that will be more important than his pace in the long term.

He has very few games at the top level u set his belt, and he’s going to have dips in form. For him to be selected as a starter in our biggest games wasn’t expected at the start of the season. He’s earned that. Well done.

Right now he is an invaluable player. Our right hand side is a fortress with james and AWB. His efforts yesterday were admirable both in attack and defense.

Only thing he needs is to start raising his head more before a cross. On rashfords chance yesterday that hit the crossbar martial raised his head instead of automatically sending it towards the near post. James in that position automatically sends it near post without question.

Other players fall down with a light contact as well, they get the fouls though. Refs see him as a 'diver', thats why he gets less freekicks. He got clearly fouled yesterday, even if he wanted the foul, but the City player just barged into him from behind. Absolute joke that refs dont whistle what they see but go on reputation.

He's been absolutely fantastic in his work ethic and attitude. He's going to be a quality player for us and has put in some very good performances. That being said, it's a big step up and we've piled a lot of pressure on him. We really need another two quality attackers to take the pressure off the young players we haven't got the luxury of resting.

I said in the summer, James won't be 'one for the future', by Christmas he'll made the starting lineup regularly. He's surpassed my expectations, it took him like 2 weeks to make that position his own. Love his attitude and work ethic, a real grafter which is rare to see in an attacker.
