I'm not convinced he'd get a start at any other Premier league club, he's absolutely useless.

Headless chicken with little to zero no end product.

Match against Sevilla. He runs with the ball on the right and has one defender in front of him and much space to run into. He stops and tries to go in the middle. He doesn't even know how to use his only strength. Average wingers like Walcott or Lennon would go for it but he doesn't.
Shame that we sacrificed Chong's or even Gomes's minutes on James this year.

I've been worried about James since midway through the season. Seems to be making up the numbers when he comes on.

I really like the lad but I'm unsure on how we use him next season.

It's not about mixing arguments, it's about your inconsistent view about the player.

When speak about Ole's argument, you believed his players like Daniel James and the other three are good enough but when we speak about the player Daniel James, you believe he's not good enough for even outside top 10 team quality. So which one is it?

Clearly he is. There are literary 9 teams out 11 in the bottom teams that James will be favourite to start as their players did worse than him this season. Only Cantwell who is debatable as his total goals & assist contribution is 8 while James is 9, doesn't mean James cannot start over him. Only Watford's wingers Deulofeu & Sarr would be the favourite to start over him.

I want you to give or tell me some solid reasons what their players did this season to make you think that James wouldn’t be favourite to start over those 9 or 10 teams and why he would be anything more than a squad player in those weaker sides? Stop telling me the reason why he's not good enough for United because that wasn't the argument you started.

Hey the below quote is what you said and what started it.
I dont see any point in continuing arguing with you mate, its always the same. You deviate from points, answer whatever you want, were not really getting into anything so I'll leave it there cheers.

If you give me your reasons to back your claim/statement which I have been asking you in my previous three posts, this conversation could make progress.

Two issues here. Either he is not being coached properly or he is refusing to listen. If he is refusing to listen then he should be sold immediately.

He's gotten steadily worse and worse as the season has gone on to the point where people are questioning if he's even a premier league level player. That might be a bit harsh but there is no doubt for me he is not a manchester united level player. Nice kid but should be sold asap

Or simply not bright enough to learn....
I honestly don’t think it’s do with his brightness. He could be the most intelligent player in the squad; his limitations are technical.

We bought a speed merchant; who wasn’t technically superior at Championship level - I doubt any amount of application helps the lad.

Technically, having 'zero no end product' would mean that his end product is faultless.

Anyway, I'd personally give him one more season.

Sure thing, he's only 22 yo.

Imo we've been a bit harsh on him. This is his first season in the PL and he had a very good start until he was found out, along with our approach changed from fast counter attacking to possession based.

He also seems to have a very good, professional attitude. And he's really fast with quick feets. Imo with some better decision making he'd be a pretty decent player.

We shouldn't write him off only after his 1st season. At least he's still an useful backup I think.

That is not really true, in my opinion. To me, his biggest weaknesses seem to be decision making, composure and vision. The best example of this was against City at home in the league, where he could have played a simple pass to Bruno that would almost have guaranteed a goal, but ended up shooting from a tight angle. Horrible decision that could have cost us points in the end. And there have been numerous of those type of situations throughout the season.

It looks unlikely that he will ever be good enough for Manchester United, but we could keep him around another year and play him in the easier cup games and as a sub. Another option would be to loan him out, but it is not like we are stacked in the forward position, so it might be best to keep him around to make up the numbers.

We should Alphonso Davies him. Maybe see if he can work as a wingback or a full back. Ole said already Dan James is the best defensive winger in the world.
Well then maybe he is playing the wrong position.

Mate I agree with what you’ve said but I’d expand on my initial post & say I think it’s technical aswell as mental.

He’s often found himself in advance of the opposition fullback with an opportunity to play the ball in central when he’ll either miss time the pass/make a poor decision [like the example you highlighted] or he’s simply not delivered a good enough ball.

Decision making and overall ability for the required level are the issue imo.

I remember Chong was far better in pre-season last year. That said, James started brightly at the beginning of the season but has been absolutely useless for a long time now. If we add Sancho and Brooks - he’d get no football at all and would be better served going on loan (at least).
