They are getting some really great acting moments out of the last couple episodes I thought. And strong writing and character development still. The bookend story of Kingpin and Vanessa first meeting to basically how it ended in her death. I think those played off each other well.
Daredevil and who he is as a person fleshed out even more after all these seasons you see his fundamental character how he has to try and help people even if they may be irredeemable. We saw it when he saved Kingpin from Bullseye last season taking the bullet. We saw it now with all the effort he put into saving Bullseye who is simply a villain.
One of the slow burn subplots Daniel Blake and BB I find very interesting. He clearly likes her but they arent truly a couple. He pretty much clearly knows she is leaking info directly from him. He has warned her pretty directly that they both could actually be hurt and told her to stop if she is. I think its good work making it an interesting subplot will he be pushed into killing her himself at some point? Buck is laying the groundwork for him to be more ruthless, to get deeper into the criminal side taking him under his wing.
Really good season so far. Guest appearance we knew was coming. That appearance was interesting that was like a season of JJ and Luke Cage we haven't seen happened and then she appeared.
I have been really impressed with the fight choreography this season. It really has been dynamic each scene specially crafted for each fighters specialty. Every time kingpin fights its a brute force brawler choreo. Daredevil always slick, clearly trained martial artist with a hint of acrobatic weapons specialist too. Bullseye deadly accuracy with literally anything he can turn into a projectile weapon.
They really pay attention to detail and some of the story and art direction are literally from the comics. That Fisk and DD fight scene part of it was literally an comic cover in action really cool.

Maybe I'm looking for it, and it's my own bias, but I always see hints of Matts upbringing when he fights. Slick and well trained but every now and again hes battling jack murdock
I think this season is still really good and more consistent than season 1 but that was always going to be the case after they navigated the production writing changeup. Glad Luke Cage got a mention and we know generally where he is in this. And some reasoning for why he is a no show. He had a pretty important part to play in the comics adaptation of this storyline and what comes after.
My only gripe so far which is just nitpicking is not enough named vigilante cameos. New York is like where 80 percent of MCU heroes operate. I get it having Spidey pop up is too big for this. But, I would think you could grab Colleen Wing and Misty Knight from Iron fist or something to make it bigger. More named vigilante that Kingpin is railing against. Bullseye is a straight up villain. So, it really has just been Daredevil and now JJ doing the heavy lifting for "vigilantes" after Punisher escaped to go hang with Spiderman and do his special.
It was a mess. They had Charlie Cox pissing about in a suit for half of the season. Muse was half baked, and not properly planned.
It just didn't know what it wanted to do other than try and be taken as a gritty serious superhero show, and it just didn't land.
The other issue with the show is that we've had Fisk as the main villain in 4 out of 5 seasons (he's a phenomenal actor and villain) but the story line is suffering because of it. It's become quite tired.

Fantastic villain/actor for sure(so not really complaining), but yeah, it's superhero show...i'm sure there's a huge catalogue of villains they could have showcased instead of just revisiting Fisk.

Well finale in the books. Overall I liked this season. It had great character development, and most characters had growth one way or another. I thought the fight choreography was great throughout. I think the acting of nearly everyone was great. The production and writing was way more consistent this season than the first for obvious reasons.
I am still pondering how I feel about the resolution of our main storyline.
I was left wanting the next season though so that is definitely good. I dont know how ratings or how well received the show has been will the next season be the last or not but I would hope they use this as a springboard for more street level characters.
Luke Cage! Loved seeing him want more next season. He came in and it felt like he had a season or more of a story to tell. You could feel the "I been through it"
So Kingpin slaughtered like a hallway full of people VERY brutally. Then gets to just go to chill free of consequences. I mean it kind of makes sense given the government is literally the one helping him smuggle arms and has a superhero foreign incursion team or something going on they apparently got Bullseye for too now. He has dirt and leverage to get away with it I guess. I would feel fine if he isn't used next season at all. New focus completely.
Matt now completely outted. Better ask Peter about how he likes Dr. Strange wiping minds for him as well. He knows a lot of people in government I would think he can get a state pardon for helping talk down Fisk.

Fisks “boo” before his darth vader corridor moment was brilliant. I’m sure comic book readers have an idea where this goes now Matts revealed himself and is in jail. I’ve got no clue.
Enjoyed that finale. Fisk & Matt are excellent. The courtroom scene was really well done.
As an entire season, I thought it was an improvement on the first. The character plots were enjoyable, Bullseye’s arc was probably my highlight this season.
Love the finale. Daredevil still the best MCU tv series of all time. Amazing run tbh. Even season 2 of the Netflix show that was the weakest, still a very strong season compare to the others.
but Fisk's ending felt to me too convenient and undeserved, he killed several people with his bare hands in the court building alone
The acting by almost everyone on the other hand is miles ahead os most similar shows, I think this is the point that clearly elevates the show for me. Charlie Cox is so good when he needs to show the character's blindness; I have already said many times now how perfect I think D'Onofrio is for the role (I just love his laboured and at the same time intimidating/booming inflection, incredible acting there); and also Deborah Ann Woll, really spot-on too in a less flashy role.
Thought the first half of the finale was great. The courtroom scene and the big reveal that Matt and Daredevil are one and the same worked well, and the twist with Bullseye in the background now working with Daredevil was excellent. They’ve used his character really well this series.
Agree with all the rest on the acting as well - everyone played their part to a tee. Special shout out to the guy who was Daniel Blake (Gandolfini’s son!)
The second half of the finale was a bit of a mess though. I get Fisk lost it all and began killing people on the spot, but for him to do that and then be given a plea deal and time on the beach was a bit silly. And the whole mob booing him was a bit pantomime like.
Otherwise it’s a really strong season, better than the first DD: BA season but it hasn’t hit the levels of the Netflix series for me.
