Television Daredevil: Born Again

Just watched the Punisher One last Kill special. I liked it a lot. It felt short though. Frank right after the events of Season one of Daredevil Born Again. You see where he is mentally after everything and it seems like get him set up for his big screen debut with webhead.

Just finished this last night. Really good series. Best marvel TV show in a while.

Can't see how season 3 can top this.

I enjoyed Born Again S2 but I thought the new Punisher special was pretty boring. Basically 10 minutes of Frank still moping about his dead family, and then 30 minutes of him slaughtering countless low level gang members, ie poor people, who are all really, really bad at fighting. Unclear why they’re all going on a violent rampage, killing and raping and pet murdering - in Frank’s black-and-white world they’re all bad people and so they all deserve to be brutally killed. How depressingly simplistic and MAGA.

No plot, no character development beyond that. And if that’s all you’re going to do, at least make the action creative, like John Wick, rather than this.

I enjoyed Born Again S2 but I thought the new Punisher special was pretty boring. No plot, no character development beyond that. And if that’s all you’re going to do, at least make the action creative, like John Wick, rather than this.

I haven’t seen it yet but that is a defining trait of the character.

His PoV is the low life selling the drug on the street corner should have the same punishment as the mob boss running the whole empire (ie to be killed brutally).

Spoiler: Finale thoughts

Thought the first half of the finale was great. The courtroom scene and the big reveal that Matt and Daredevil are one and the same worked well, and the twist with Bullseye in the background now working with Daredevil was excellent. They’ve used his character really well this series.

Agree with all the rest on the acting as well - everyone played their part to a tee. Special shout out to the guy who was Daniel Blake (Gandolfini’s son!)

The second half of the finale was a bit of a mess though. I get Fisk lost it all and began killing people on the spot, but for him to do that and then be given a plea deal and time on the beach was a bit silly. And the whole mob booing him was a bit pantomime like.

Otherwise it’s a really strong season, better than the first DD: BA season but it hasn’t hit the levels of the Netflix series for me.

Yep, very good too.

That was a good 2nd season. Started off well but midway began to fall flat around the Vanessa death but the finale was well executed. Just like S1, the court case was the best part of the series.

I agree felt it was a really good second season, just felt that... Surely the D.A.'s deal was to keep Kingpin quiet about his dealings but also to avoid a bloodbath. Once Fisk is seen to publicly kill the citizens of New York from multiple angles on social media he can't be allowed to just mooch on the beach. He would need to be "killed" and revived on the quiet at least.
