How will he line up?

So many curious points. When everyone's fit who will he choose as a centre back pairing, who will play left back, Shaw or the January '25 INEOS purchase? Will he restore Bruno to AM and how will he solve Mbeumo/Amad conundrum....

Is it confirmed he's the interim until season's end?

Seems risky when we still have a chance to make the champions league.

The Fletchers won't get a minute unless he is there until the end of the season. He won't want them tarnished.

Assuming he moves to a 4231 then you’d expect Mbeumo starts up top and Sesko off the bench.

Mbeumo
Cunha Bruno Amad
Mainoo Casemiro
Shaw/Dorgu Martinez Deligt Dalot
Lammens

Sesko, Mount, Heaven, Yoro, Ugarte off the bench

Not sure I like Mbeumo as a striker though. But it’s the only way to fit him and Amad in.

Massively unqualified for manager role, if this goes beyond the one match it’s absolutely embarrassing. As many have said, it’s amazing Amorim could lose to lower divison teams, lose at home to 10 man Everton, finish lower end of the table last season, and still keep his job. Yet, he calls out upper management for not doing their job (I tend to agree with him, our squad is a shambles) and he’s gone instantly. I hope to God they have something lined up and it’s not Fletcher going forward while they scramble around looking for someone else.

Hope it goes well for him and I also hope a new manager will be swiftly appointed.

We can't write off another season. It's all we seem to do.

My concern is they won't hire a new manager until the transfer window closes as anyone coming in will demand midfield re-enforcements immediately.

Surely the coaching staff of our underage teams would be more qualified to prep the team going forward than Darren Fletcher.
He’s a qualified coach and has coached at underage levels himself so he’s as qualified as any of the current staff to take charge in the interim

He’s certainly as qualified as Chelsea’s interim coach

I think he is made of sterner stuff than people imagine and he will shock a few of us especially the idiots on twitter. Very experienced and successful former player, close to Fergie and has been around the club whilst all this nonsense has been happening. He has got a chance to kickstart his own managerial career and this is a talented squad.

Hope it goes well for him even if he doesn't earn the permanent gig but just putting himself out there. To survive he has got to be creative and find midfield solutions from within because the asylum inmates upstairs aren't buying him anything worthwhile.

If he were to stay until summer, how would you feel about that?

Maybe I'm underestimating him, after all basically none of us know about his quality as head coach, but it seems like a big risk with all to play for this season.

Immediate caretaker until an interim is found is a nobrainer really

I suspect they already decided Amorim was going, but they didn't want to sack him mid-season. Yesterday just made it untenable.

I would not really want to have him in for the rest of the season. I would prefer an interim manager with PL managerial experience. But hopefully he's got luck on his side, and it can go somewhere near as well as it did for Solskjaer initially.

if he had to stay til summer, well he can’t really do any worse than Amorims results. But I suggest it’s going to be quick and I think all those articles yesterday pushing Glasner are not coincidence

Hopefully he will have the same effect as Ole did. Just hope we don't give him the permanent role before the season even ends.

Ole took over a team that has stopped playing for Jose. This team was still behind the manager. It will take more than just vibes to see us play better.

I am really afraid if we really are Going for Glasner . That appointment has disaster written all over it .

Unless we get Maresca, I can't see who would be available before the summer so Fletcher till the end of the season is likely unless it's a complete disaster.

At least his sons will get plenty of minutes.

Why not bring Jonny back as his assistant manager too.

Phil Jones as Physio.

iNEOS have inadvertently put themselves in the firing line with the sacking if we don't qualify for Europe.

Is Carrick still managing somewhere? Ole?

What a week, Maresca and Amorim!

Fletcher 4-2-3-1 masterclass incoming.

Watch us spank Burnley 6-0 Sesko hat trick

More three at the back misery.
He said himself his favorite formation is 442 and he played 451 before with Frankfurt but has used 343 at Palace because it suits his players more, which is exactly what you want from a manager.
