David Moyes | Everton Manager

he is the grand prize. you have to work your way up to him using our loyalty scheme. you can get a rashford on loan as one of our preferred partners if you purchase three from our experienced range. models include lindelof, eriksen, casemiro and antony.

all purchases are final and may not be returned. some players may have more miles on the clock than indicated at the time of advertisement.
This feels like a dodgy claw machine. I'm out.

Done deal imo, will be announced in dos, tres, quattro days.

I get the indifference, but he deserves some credit for his consistency and longevity at both Everton and West Ham.
It feels like that kind of stability and squad building goes under the radar. At west ham they didnt respect what they had and clamored to sign both Pellegrini and Lopetegui.

Frank, Marco Silva are doing something similiar but are rated.

He gets banter because he was United manager. Nobody bantered him before he came to us.

Genuinely think he will struggle with the current team. Nothing on him but this Everton squad is bang average, probably worse than that. His Everton of the past were much better.

Now for a successful two years, followed by him being appointed by United again.

And so the cycle will continue.

Is this the extent of Everton's ambition? Another couple of years of plodding mediocrity followed by his inevitble departure.

I think if this is the summer this move doesn't happen. Unfortunately though, Dyche has left the TFG owners with no choice but to sack him because of his poor performance this season and his words during their meeting earlier in the week. Due to that, they've been left in a shitty position where they're trying to convince managers to join us when we are currently a sinking ship on the pitch. Moyes, while I said it myself, isn't inspiring at all as a choice, it is an understandable move from the owners because he's the best of what I can imagine is a scarce bunch currently, especially after Potter moved to West Ham.

It's been suggested it will be a 2.5 year deal with a movement then into a background role at the club. I think that makes a lot of sense for all parties involved. Hopefully that allows time for us to settle a bit more and establish ourselves as a mid-table side again without the fear of relegation over our shoulder and we can then start to make more inspiring choices on both player and manager level.

I may have a false memory of it but his Everton team on his last year was quite enjoyable to watch. They had good attacking full backs, Mirallas and Pienaar were risk takers and Cahill and Arteta were quality players. He also built a decent footballing side at West Ham before he left.

He did and also won the Conference League with West Ham, I don't think he gets enough plaudits for what he did with West Ham.

If he can build a similar team with Everton whilst moving into their new stadium, I don't think Everton fans will be able to believe their luck, considering what they're putting up with atm.

I think Moyes is a great choice. If the 2.5 years deal is true.

Not sure if Everton fans will see it that way but for me that will be based on his last tenure and I don't believe it will be the same Moyes. I think the move from Everton and the success and failures will mean a better more rounded manager.

Having listened to Moyes and what his deals were with owners etc he is a man that can work within budgets and get the best out of players.

He’s about as good as they could get in my opinion. What exciting, dynamic manager was waiting for the Everton job?

Maybe stabilize the club with a very experienced manager that knows the club well and sort everything out behind the scenes with the take-over, new stadium and new structure with new people. So a new manager can come in after about 2 years to bring the club further. Moyes never is a long term solution for Everton I think. What ever we all think of him, he did oke at West Ham.

Good manager. Overrated by his self and overhyped by press but good manager. Other than United he has left every club in a better position than he took.

Poor Everton fans.
It is what it is. From what I've read other options weren't keen on taking over in Jan in the situation we were in which is fair enough. Also looks like they had planned for Dyche to stay until the summer and then have a clean break but his performance / their chat left them with no other option but to get rid.

Interestingly Moyes didn't do overly well when he joined West Ham mid-season both times but his full season after that managed to qualify for EL. I reckon that's also what we are banking on. Him keeping us up (who really cares how) and then giving us that full season boost to then transition into the next manager, with him taking up a role within the club after.

Good move to steady the ship. I expect he'll keep them up this year then establish as a mid table side next year and if the owners have any sense, they'll be scouring the globe for the next Iraola type to come in behind him.

I'm fairness I think everton would be absolutely delighted with what west ham achieved under moyes, and probably delighted if he repeats his achievements of his first spell.

Moyes is a good manager with a proven track record, and Everton are in a relegation scrap.

Come on David Moyes play like Moysies boys….. I remember clearly how much the Everton fans laughed at us when we got him and they got Martinez.

Short term to get them through this season it makes sense but long term not so much

What a great job the Everton job is to be fair

Moving into a great new plush stadium, new ownership

David Moyes must be kicking himself!!

The side might not be great, but Moyes is a perfectly capable veteran manager who would most likely be able too keep them safe before then progressing onwards after the summer transfer window

Exciting times for Everton I say

Throwback! Hopefully this is a sign that we will see reestablishment of normality in the league. United to win the league next season?

In all seriousness, I really want to see him succeed.

And his world comes full circle, 11 1/2 years after leaving, really wanted him to succeed with us at the time, he was just so unsure of himself, brought in the wrong people and sacked the right people, players didn’t respond to him. Wish him all the best.

Yeah he did well enough at the hammers and I think he might serve Everton better than a has been (with a better CV) or someone that will view them as a stepping stone. Not being relegated and then next season coming in 9th-13th is what they should aim for and if given the necessary backing I think he's capable of it.

Good manager. Overrated by his self and overhyped by press but good manager. Other than United he has left every club in a better position than he took.

People seem to forget that he relegated Sunderland while constantly saying that he would just “move on” if he couldn’t save them and distancing himself from any sort of responsibility.

He wouldn’t risk having another relegation on his CV, so I imagine he has looked at this squad and fancies keeping them up comfortably.

Some key players are very old and there are a lot of expiring contracts, so it will be interesting to see what he has been promised and who he brings in.
