Not a great look for the sport when you get several boring goaless draws in succession at the flagship event

I think German football fans are all expecting hoping for Musiala to be the difference maker and the only one to shine brighter than the average player inside the "well oiled machine".

Goal-wise we haven't seen one screamer yet at this world cup.

Germany Havertz seems to be better than Chelsea Havertz. Watch him score 8 goals this world cup.

The effort of having to play World Cup matches days after joining up with the squad showing itself in these lacklustre games?

It's because there is no quality in the attack of both teams. England and France games had plenty of goals because they have actual quality in attack.

Glad Morocco got something as they deserved it and at least showed some energy, Amrabat broke up play well and Hakimi had moments whereas Croatia were really slow and ponderous. Not much quality from either team though.

Germany, Spain and Belgium, we need some goals!

Japan is going for experience in defense. The age of the 4 starting are 36, 34, 32 and 25.

So sad that Hasebe isn't playing for the NT anymore. He surely would still have the level for it and at 38 years it would look even better here

Strong words from the pundits. But if they fet that strongly, why don’t they boycott it themselves? Or give their fees to LGBT charities? They’re all on a nice jolly out there and telling everyone else to protest.
Because they “love their jobs”.

Well someone has to be actually in the studio doing the punditry... so better it's people who will actually speak out no?

Would you rather have pundits that go and say nothing or pundits that go and say something? The WC was going ahead with or without them. I doubt they're daft enough to ignore their hypocrisy but it's good to point out these facts rather than ignore it.

This is it.

A small bit of me feels for players. This is the pinnacle of a football career, one of the biggest moments of their lives. That's difficult to give up even though rights should still come first.

But these pundits? They're being paid massively to waffle for 5 minutes between ad breaks and no doubt being put up in the best hotels. That's easy to give up.

Tomiyasu on the bench. I thought he's their highest profile player.

Flick should put Kimmich at right back and get Goretzka in midfield next to Gundogan IMO

Seems teams are just setting up to play on the counter but then no-one is taking the initiative and actually attacking so the other team can't even counter. The quality levels have been really poor, with poor passing and link up all over the pitch.
