Busquets would still be weltering and looking to the ref with every turn. One reason why I enjoyed watching LvG side thrash them

maybe I forgot about that one for Khedira, but anyway, this chance wasn't due to good play by germany
So how exactly did the Ref take part in that situation? Portugal sucked, Germany didn't. Get over it.

The 2nd half was "boring" because Germany could easily relax and save Energy. What do you expect? That they play 100% up 3:0 in a Stadium with 30 Degrees and 80% humidity?

Why should they even risk to get a counter attack? This game was far too important for experiments in the 2nd half. Still they managed to create some good chances.

Just imagine Spain or Italy up 3:0 at the half. That would be boring.
Exactly, you finally got it. Why should any side do anything in the second half when GER was given any easy lead and POR reduced to 10 and 3:0 at half time.

It could have been an interesting game also in the second half but the ref had other ideas

It could've been an interesting game if Pepe wasn't an idiot and Portugal could defend corners as well.

Get over what? I still don't care about who wins but always want both teams on level chances, not like Mexico (ok, they still won) or Croatia or others who have also been robbed their chance

The lead would have obviously been 2:0 or 3:0 even without the penalty.

Portugal were pure shit even with Pepe on the field.

Ahhhh...yes :-) That's far too easy to say they would have scored 3 till halftime anyway. It would have been a different game!

Yeah, if only Khedira's shot was on goal, we would have already taken the lead, but he missed the empty goal by a few inches. I'm starting to doubt you actually watched the game, if you believe we had no chances to score before the penalty.
Balu, du wirfst "Perlen vor die Säue". Don't argue with him; it's pointless.

Löw really surprised me with this one.

Why? As i said before the game, under Löw we are always in absolute perfect shape as soon as the tournament starts. I trusted him before and was not worried at all.

@red_7: Sorry, but how on earth is this not a penalty? :D He's clearly grabbing him and trying to bring him down. Yes, Götze could go on, but the chance would already have been ruined because of that, so of course he's taking the penalty. You, my dear sir, have to clear your red and green glasses.

Coentrao out for the World Cup, Portugal is fecked.

Who replaced him? Andre Almeida, who looks like a pub player that won the lottery? Or does Veloso get shifted to LB?

Depends how bold Bento is.

Some tactical genius like a Mourinho would play Veloso there, and get praised for it.

From everything I know about Bento, the man is very pragmatic and safety first, more worried about how the other teams play.

Their problems will continue if they keep going back into major tournaments with the same players. It's like they're afraid of taking new players from their league and integrating them into the team.
They don't have any players, they have nothing, their strikers are the worst, almost non existent. So they are forced to use those same old players who aren't even doing much at their clubs. The Portuguese FA need to do something or else I can see them not qualifying for any major tournament for a long time.

From International Business Times

Cristiano Ronaldo's future could be in danger due to a recurring knee injury, according to reports in Spain.
The Real Madrid superstar seemed fully recovered from injury problems on his return to Portugal's starting line-up where helped his team in their final friendly over Republic of Ireland before heading to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup – the Ballon d'Or winner had not played since Real's Champions League triumph against city rivals Atletico Madrid last month in Lisbon, where Ronaldo scored the fourth goal from the penalty spot.
However, El Confidencial claims Ronaldo's knee injury has returned with even greater severity despite the striker pulling out all the stops to play for his country at the World Cup – and there is risk of rupture.
The report also claims Ronaldo's future as a football player was in danger as MRI scans showed he was far from being fit. He went on to play in the 4 - 0 drubbing against Germany against medical advice.
The diagnosis of Dr. Noronha, a trusted doctor of Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes and a specialist in knee injuries, has been resounding: "If Ronaldo does not stop and rest, his future is in danger." The doctors have asked him to stop playing for about two months with absolute rest as his knee is still emitting signals that is not right and also could break at any moment, and which is worse, become chronic – but the striker ignores everyone, as saying repeatedly: "I am who decides if I am playing or not."
Real Madrid are said to be monitoring the injury with concern.
