Mexico doesn't produce any good results but they are much more entertaining the Switzerland. Switzerland are just competent enough to defend themselves well and make the opponent look dour and bad too. It's lose lose with them. Only Poland comes close in that department.
I don’t mind the Swiss, they punch above their weight and make the most of the players they have. Poland is a million times worse in that department. Have better players but always a boring and disappointing tournament team.
Agree about Poland.

I just always find the Swiss to be boring regardless of the opposition.

Want Cameroon to win this, have liked them ever since Massing cleared out Caniggia in 1990. One of my only memories from that world cup.

That's a strong and fast front 3 for Cameroon. Anguissa as well driving with the ball is a dangerous player

A bit late but Forest WC watch is Remo Frueler. The “Conductor“ was one of our summer purchases, bought from Atalanta. Since we switched to 3 in Midfield, Remo has been a regular starter. He regularly tops the distance covered match stats. He is Jimmy Garners replacement.

Great recovery tackle there on Embolo, but he really should be hitting that earlier.

Anyone familiar with Uruguay or South Korea here? What might one expect from that match?

I don't get why he's in there instead of Okafor. He's not at his level.
Would be a nice bench option with his speed though....
Vargas pretty much has a place in the 11 these days.
Surprisingly Sow is playing instead of Okafor, which is a more defensive approach I guess.
Probably that‘s how he wants to side against the two „stronger“ teams, so he let’s them have a go now.

Well this is at least better than Poland-Mexico. That was the dumbest football match I have seen in a very long time. Special credit to Poland.

I'm starting to think there's something wrong with the balls or the pitches affecting players' shooting, especially from a distance.

Remember when Embolo was the next big thing?
Yeah. I remember wanting United to sign him quite strongly.

Just seen he's at Monaco now, so he never really produced at Gladbach?

Three things are guaranteed in life: Death, taxes and Switzerland being at every major tournament playing dog shit football.

The most beautiful image I have of a World Cup is the Cameroon course in '90.
I will never again see the happiness, the explosiveness or Roger Milla's dances with the corner flag but I will always support Cameroon.

He was solid for Gladbach, that's why Monaco signed him.
Been excellent for them this season, scoring 7 goals in 13 starts.

Don't like our game so far, that team isn't used to have Xhaka so far up front
