I think we'll declare our interest in a few players and then end our interest.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we panic and loan Bale.

I think Everton will bid for Smalling and we will probably accept it

reckon Rojo and Darmian will go after the English deadline passes

I think our signings are done sadly

Not our style to run around on the last day, if it's not done know, it's not happening aside from Rom being sold....

Meh who knows.

We won't sign anyone and Lukaku will leave.

Arsenal and Spurs will be the busiest - both will bring in a couple.

God knows what the mid-table lot will do, and who really cares.

Baah, I don't know. Lukaku out makes this a pretty good window regardless.
Really ? we also lost Herrera , lukaku offered something and Herrera was a decent midfielder we have no replacements for either . I'm all for youth but we need them to be integrated not thrown in at the deep end

I predict Ed the Duck will sell Lukaku to Inter Milan.

I then predict Ed the Duck, will resign Lukaku from Inter Milan.

All in the space of 24 hours. Wouldn’t put it past his webbed feet

If it's a forward, probably Ben Yedder or Inaki Williams
If it's a midfielder, probably SMS or Bruno Fernandes

Oh who am I kidding. It's Longstaff or no one most likely.

Jesus - Ed's farted around for the last two months, not a chance of anything been done now.

De gea will sign a new contract, we'll be made to treat it as a new signing.

Would be stunned if we got anyone in.

It's been years since we signed someone on deadline day. Last one being Martial in 2015 iirc.

Not expecting anyone.

It was meant tongue in cheek. For me, this window is below par. Not enough housecleaning and to slow transition at the middle. Up front I think we can survive one season with what we have but service is needed from the middle. Happy with our reinforcements though.

Didn't Falcao come in on deadline day?

But yeah don't see it happening... Usually when we do a deadline day deal, the seeds of it start in the morning... and we've heard nothing so far.

Berbatov was the best one right. I loved it when the deadline was midnight and you stayed up listening to the radio. Who changed it until 5pm. Bad news

Looks like Mandzukic and that's it another disaster of a window, no excuses for not re investing the Lukaku money. Our net spend is going to be under a 100m again after finishing sixth. Look what Madrid did this season that's a real big club! It's getting to the stage were we are going to fall behind not only spurs and arsenal but your leicester and evertons.

Yeah, this..^^
Probably held back the announcement especially for today.

We've had a golden opportunity to recruit this Summer, with Liverpool & City not overly active & Chelsea having a ban.
So there has been less competition for signings that there would normally be.
Yet the worrying thing for me is that we either failed to identify our deficiencies before the window, or failed to identify players to resolve those deficiencies.

The fact that we have seen the likes of Ramsey, Rabiot, Ndombele, Tielemans, Bruno, Partey, Pepe, Lozano, Zaha, become available, and yet we have apparently no interest in any of them, presumably we feel that Matic, Mata & Fred are better options for us..

I don't know if it's complacency, arrogance or ineptitude, even blind faith, but the fact of the matter is, after a 3 month transfer window, we have still not signed a MF or RW, and with hours to go we are hitting the refresh button, hoping for a shock signing to be announced.
It's a very poor situation from United.

Right desperation station time. We are desperately short in at least 2 positions and while we all have had reservations against certain players over the window given the current state of play who would you take at this stage?

Longstaff
Bale (Loan or permanent)
Coutinho (Loan or permanent)
Inaki Williams
Mandzukic
Rakitic (no)
Llorente (no no)

Any others previously mentioned that would now seem acceptable as closing time draws nearer?

Coutinho and Bale on loan. Not gonna happen, no more signings for us in this widow. I'm feeling sad and frustrated.

I don’t think the problem has been an ability to buy players, let me explain...

If you look at the squad we probably would want to get rid of Darmian, Young, Jones, Bailly, Rojo, Matic, Lingard, Sanchez and Lukuku. That’s 9 international players - unfortunately no one wants them. I’m not suggesting all of them in one go, but a good 4,5 or 6.

We have a big squad, and the issue is we need to sell players to buy - not because of the transfer fees, it because of the size of the squad.

Absolute joke. 2 players out today and none in. We are not finishing in the top 4 this year and he lucky to hold on to 6th. Why didn't we go after zaha even

So Rojo to leave United as Fernandes comes in. Any other United business? a stop gap striker maybe?

I am praying Brighton sign an experienced striker, someone like Giroud on loan would go down well

any other premier league business expected on deadline day?

Can't see Giroud moving anywhere with Abraham out and Chelsea now unable to get Cavani over the line it seems. Leaves Chelsea with just Batshuayi until Abraham is back.

Slimani to Spurs I think will happen.

Can't see any big transfers appearing over the next 2 days though.
