I’d be relatively supportive of this if he was someone who we might want back. However, he burnt his bridges when he left and I don’t think he will ever play for us again. No benefit to us in allowing him to play.
That would make even less sense.

Imagine he has a world class game, saves everything then we go to penalties and he saves a couple and knocks us out?

The fans will not forgive him and we'd look very foolish. You simply don't play against players you own.

Look at Coutinho knocking out Barca with Bayern. They were a laughing stock.

Yes it's unfortunate for Henderson, but that's life.

Yeah, there is zero circumstances that make sense for us to let him play.

Even if he was absolutely terrible and even worse then their 2nd choice keeper, it would still be dumb to let him play.

Imagine the other way around, he has a stinker - they'd all be saying he did it on purpose to let United win.

Just best in both situations for himself really. I'm sure he's desperate to play but United can't be sentimental.

Even if he hadn’t been running his mouth after leaving, there’s no good reason for us to lend Forest a player and then allow him harm our chances.

Whether you rate him or not, he is much better than Hennessey. I agree that it would be stupid and a bit arrogant to let him play in the semifinal.

If Chelsea fans forgave Courtouis for knocking them out of the CL semis then I don't get why we couldn't forgive Hendo for knocking us out of the league cup semis. This is in the context of wanting him back of course which will never happen.

Has anyone thought about what Henderson is thinking? The pressure that would be on him. If he did play and let in four or five, he’s history at United. Some say he is anyway. If he single-handedly kept us out and knocked us out, he could argue he should come back as number one, well maybe in his head. Anyhow, the rules say he can’t play.

Pretty sure Courtois never made disparaging comments against his parent club either. You don't bite the hand thats still feeding you.

Absolutely out of question that we allow him to play against us. Goes against the basic tenets of common sense.

Why not negotiate a fee with Forest?

They'll probably get carried away and be willing to spend well over the odds because when will they next be in a cup semi-final? Winning this would be their Champions League. Staying up and winning the League Cup would be a ridiculous success.

Then use that inflated fee to buy another forward, who scores the winner past Henderson

Cant wait for all the pathetic grovelly articles in the build up trying to pressure United to let him play, and then moral grandstanding drivel when we don't.

Be like Lingard not getting his send off all over again.

I considered that but Chelsea didn't have any say in the matter, unlike here where we would explicitly give him permission to feck us over for whatever reason.

Don’t let him play. We get absolutely nothing out of him playing against us and after he did that interview criticising the club he can get fecked.

If they did then thats on them and their stupidity.

It would be beyond stupid to even consider allowing him to play against us regardless of if hes burned his bridges or not.

And yeah I agree with everyone else that said he should have been subbed on vs Villareal. Of all stupid on field decisions since Sir Alex retired thats probably the worst.

Where has this chat stemmed from about letting him play in the semi against us?

The agreement in the loan deal between both clubs was that he isn’t allowed to play against his parent club. Why change that for them to better their chances against us as Hennessey is an absolute awful GK!

You may be getting Henderson back. Depending on the length of the injury, we may go in for a 6 month loan (Kayler Nevas has been linked). As we will definitely need a goalie for next season, we could also go ahead and buy this window if the right one becomes available. The Croatian WC Goalie being one target.

Great news for a certain kind of United supporter on the caf, as it appears De Gea is "arguably the worst keeper in the league".

Henderson is a great keeper in all aspects apart from his distribution, which is frankly terrible. He’s a step backwards for us from Brice Samba it that department which is why we are looking elsewhere. Samba could hit it 40 yards to a Forest player to start a counter off - Hendo just can’t.

Can't your medical department just keep him? Don't want the cnut anywhere near the club

That would be a good move for both Livaković and you. Is Forest interested?

Drive him somewhere else. He should never play for United again. :nono:

He’ll probably be here till the end of the season but I have a feeling we sign him

Very much so. If Hennessey breaks we are down to Jordan Smith who isn’t even Champ standard so it makes sense to get something sorted.

If forest sign Keylor Navas where does that leave Henderson. Cant imagine they are signing him to sit on the bench.

So Henderson is a number two again - now at Forrest. It’s unlikely Navas came to sit on the bench

He will have to fight for his place when he he’s fit again. To be fair it’s probably the fact that Hennessey has been so poor that has been the catalyst. Still it’ll give him chance to work on his dodgy distribution while he’s benched.

Looks like next season, Henderson's preferred opponents will be Nottingham Forest.

Life comes at you fast, I think he is going to go to talk sport to discuss how he was guaranteed first team and after his small injury Navas is first choice. Broken promises.

Its not good news for us though, we want him to do well so we can sell him for 30m.

Apparently Ten Hag asked him to come back before we got Butland and he refused. He's no interest being at United at all and he's not as good as he thinks he is so hopefully he'll be gone in the Summer.

Yep, I read that because Ten Hag thought it was not going to help him develop if he has to keep picking the ball out of the net.

It just shows mentality, he wants a keeper that is used to not conceding goals. Henderson is a very good keeper IMO but for a lower league club, not for United.

He has no skill that is better than DDG and we need to improve on DDG. DDG is a better shot stopper and better keeper.

Henderson would have been first choice if he was a ball playing keeper, no chance he is that, he is more of a hoof it upfield keeper.

Just hope we can get a decent fee for him at this point and that injury doesn't help.

If Ten Hag did say that about picking the ball out of the net (I have heard it from elsewhere) then he can feck off the disrespectful little twat. United goals conceded record is nothing to brag about this season and since the WC both teams have conceded 6 in the Prem.

I dont think he was trying to be disrespectful to Forest, it was more a there are different pressures / skills required at the top half to the bottom half of the table.

I mean Forest themselves went and got Keylor Navas on loan, do you think that is to be 2nd choice to Dean Henderson?

Do keepers not play in other cups? I didnt realise that other competitions dont play with defence or keeper.
