I still can't believe you gave him that insane contract.

Sort of worried that De Gea will immediately turn shit if he leaves, but I don’t think Henderson is his long term replacement anyway. I’d have liked to see him play in the cups this season to help integrate him into the squad, especially as he’s on 110,000 a week. I wonder if the spell he had under Ole was a bit sudden and pressurised, which didn’t work well for Ben Foster either.

Anyway, at this point 40m is a good deal for all parties and we should take it.

Even if De Gea isn't your man, you could probably find an alternative who suits ETH's style more than Henderson does for less than £40m, be it this summer or next.

In a world where Jose Sa was picked up by Wolves for €8m and Maignan was bought by Milan for €15m, getting £40m for Henderson would be something. So much so that I don't believe we would actually get that much.
He's English so he fulfills a quota for them without having to hang onto the Longstaffers.

He'll never ever be United No1. Sell him and make some money.

I don't think anyone is paying close to £40m for him either way.

For that money he should definitely be sold.

Surely the £40m deal includes the salary they would pay him? Nobody can claim he's worth close to £40m in transfer fee. A £40m package on 100k a week is roughly a £20m transfer, which would seem more accurate.

Yeah right. Never mind the price, do they even need a keeper?

If he's worth £40m he should be starting for us because De Gea isn't.
Yes. They currently have Dubravka who's not very good.

Christ Henderson is really on £110k per week? Is that true?
I quite like him and don’t understand the glee that his potential departure has elicited on here. He seems much more of a team player than DDG.

That salary is completely bonkers though. Thanks Ed and Matt

He did get an extension when he came back after his second season at Sheffield. To that level is a bit mental, but it would make sense as it would be a bit of a stumbling block to a sale this summer

I think he’s actually a good keeper and should be given a chance..

Plenty of decent back up goalie options on free transfers this summer as well. Get rid of him. Use the £40m to help me become more popular with the ladies. Its an easy decision. Come on Darren Fletcher, get this done!
Why would Darren Fletcher be getting it done?

If he isn't going to be our nailed on number one they have to sell at that price.
Bring in an experienced number 2 cheaply and use the wages and sale price elsewhere.
Ben Foster leaving Watford, bring him back!

We’ve got Heaton. Better off extending Grant and or promoting a youth keeper to number 3. £40m would be great for him and saves his big wages too to reinvest elsewhere
