I bought this in the sale and I think I'm enjoying it? There's a hypnotising quality to ticking off fetch quests, and I spent a few months in first lockdown doing some Deliveroo deliveries so I guess it's nostalgic to reprise my role as a post apocalyptic delivery man. I'm interested enough in the world that's been created here, and I can't wait until my fecking BB cnut gets himself killed like the game has been teasing since I got him. It also does feel like there's something more to it, and it seems to at least create the illusion that there's some deep cinematic depth to the game.
But like everything Kojima he needed to be slapped around the head a bit and told no. I've never felt like a game was missing a pissing simulator before, and the combat feels like a particularly shitty afterthought. It's almost as if the game wants you to avoid it, but then it rewards you handsomely for getting involved in it. I suspect I will finish it, but then I felt like that with MGS5 and just one day never bothered to turn it back on again; lots of the same menu based issues here too.
