https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/p...yX1nnaAiL-rOtsOGUABP87vHHUuASxKbD9Jpi68YZZU4II was very surprised to find out that George Graham played for United from 1972-1974.Obviously he was considered to be great manager and he won lots of trophies across different clubs,so I was surprised that very little was spoken/written about him being a former United player.
didn't read the thread title....
Yeah,he was a part of the side that got relegated in 74...I guess he didn’t really make a mark at United, but he was a very successful manager for a long period of time...I”m just surprised that I never heard anyone talk about his connection to United...That's because there was little to talk about.
Graham could play some decent balls through the channels to front men, but much better manager than player.
Didn't he go down with Tommy doc's side in 74?
It's a question isn't it? And the answer can be "no".didn't read the thread title....
Think I'd add Ian Ure to that list.Terry Gibson

I was very excited about this
To this day I don't understand that signing.I don't know how to insert a picture but always seems weird to me seeing Mark Bosnich in a United shirt
Still strikes me as an odd signing. Wasn't a bad goalkeeper but was hardly talked about as one of the best and just doesn't seem to fit with what SAF looks for in a player off the pitch
I was making a joke referencing the fact you thought Prunier was Lee Sharpe (I think) but perhaps you were yourself joking due to the two players being incredibly similar physically. And that coming from someone who calls himself fingeredmouse
I remember this.
Even Roy Keane couldn't believe he played for us. Because he didn't
Me too, I remember wondering who the hell that guy was. I don't even think the commentators said anything at the time.I remember this.
you make a valid pointIt's a question isn't it? And the answer can be "no".
Always seemed good for giving away, then subsequently saving at least 1 penalty per game.
Yeah, that is mostly forgotten. I think just after Quieroz left the first timeNot playing but does anyone remember Walter Smith was our assistant manager for a year?
We tried to replace Schmeichel on the cheapTo this day I don't understand that signing.
Peter Barnes
Remember the lad at City. One of the best young players around at that time. How the feck did he end up with us? Made 20 apps without me noticing.
didn’t mind signing Andy Cole but was gutted to see Gillespie leave. Seemed to fit in well with CO92. Thought he had a great future.
Keith Gillespie
And we signed him over Van Der Sar at the time. Which makes it even worse. To this day I don't understand that signing.
