The lad is an absolute unit - be interesting to see how he’s integrated into the team.

Hopefully plays against Leeds so we can see where he’s at.

I think he's going to be an Antonio Valencia type player and have extremely high hopes for him as a wingback. Will it take 18 months or 4 years? That I dont know

I'm guessing you're saying that because he's a unit? From his highlights he looks more like a young Evra to me. Likes to take it past players and has that burst of acceleration into the box.

Quality aside this lad looks more like the type of WB that Amorim likes than Amass does so I reckon he gets decent minutes. Especially as Amorim likes to sub his wing backs to keep energy up.

Mainly because of the speed and dribbling style using it

I think Evra was more skillful and would try to use that as much as using his pace

Well-placed sources say coaching staff have been impressed by left back Leon in training and he could make his first appearance for United in their pre-season friendly against Leeds United on Saturday.

I feel like he's a copy of Dorgu but even more raw. I have no expectations of him playing in the 1st team this season

The coaching staff are probably going to do whatever Diego Leon tells them to.

From what I've seen hes very keen to run the ball with pace down the wing. I dont feel like Dorgu takes on his man much at all. He'll run the ball into space and then when confronted pass back

Evra arguably had better acceleration than Valencia and far greater agility, but Valencia’s top speed, strength and engine was unrivalled.

If he can be like one of those two I’d be over the moon. Evra as one of my favourite all time United players, and I really liked Valencia as well.

I really hope that he has been impressing in training and it's not a case of him being kept around to allow him to settle (as was reported earlier).

We shouldn't be expecting anything from him, so if he could hit the ground running that would be an absolute bonus... that said, I'm sure he will be written off after his first miscontrolled pass in preseason

Dude, it's a few posts above where it says that he's been impressing in training.

I have high hopes I think he will play a fair amount this season

Our recent youth signings have been quite good. Obi and Heaven looks very likely to be first teamers for the foreseeable future. Koné seems an interesting prospect too.

Hope León similarly can be a good signing for us.

I trust amorim to get the best from him.

It does seem like a when he was at sporting type signing that'll come good and be worth a fair bit of cash in the future.

Really looking forward to seeing young Pedro in action.

Not that impressed. Will need lots of coaching but has the physical tools.

What the hell was that shot at the end of the half.

He looks like a fullback. He wasn't getting himself into the right positions.

Early Valencia was an underrated beast.

But later Valencia almost became a meme for just getting to the edge of the box, completely stopping like he's heard the tape go off musical chairs and absolutely smashing a ball aimlessly into defenders' shins.

I have to admit, any confidence I have on him is based solely on the fact he has a solid exotic name. Give me an unknown and unproven Diego Leon over a tried and tested Doug Long any day.

Kinda agree with this, but he was still world class at progressing the ball and stopping anyone one on one defensively. Even at 33, nobody outpaced or outmuscled him. I think he would have been great as a wingback.

His end product did become rather poor, for sure.

As blunt as he was he did have a great touch and you could trust him to maintain possession, I don’t trust Dorgu when pressured and I get the same impression of Leon.

Yep. Agree. Valencia had a great first touch and his small passing out of tight situations was aldo og s very high quality. Him and Herrera were good together in that respect.

Dorgu isn’t close in terms of first touch - much too heavy. Nor is his speed similar.
