First for us

Yeah I did mean for us, I felt he might be. I suppose it's not that important but cool nonetheless!

Hopefully he has a great time at the club!

Bit late to the party but he feels a generational talent from the hand test.

Will go out on a limb at say that I predict he'll be our starting left wingback for our final couple of games this season with Dorgu RWB or on the bench with Amad playing there.

He’s got that Wayne Rooney Physique. Natural muscle instead of say like Kobbie where it looks like Hot girl fit.

Hopefully he can come in, hit the ground running and be a part of the first team next season.

Morph them together and you’d get a top player. Leon looks physically ahead of him but not as good technically and Amass the superior on the ball.

Amass should go on loan.
I'd be sending Leon on loan as the level he has played at is levels below Premier League.

Hope there's no south American age tax going on here. He looks like he was born experienced. Hope he smashes it!

Here's a clip on him. I think he has a chance to challenge Dorgu for the left wing back spot if the sign anyone else to the starting spot.

From the video, he is nowhere near ready for PL. Need to go on loan to get experience in Europe.

I mean he's probably never going to be good enough for the PL in all likelihood but I fail to see how that video specifically could give the interpretation he isn't ready?

What specifically are you seeing that leads you to believe he is "nowhere near ready for PL" ?

The amount of time and space he had on the ball in that league. Also, the ease he dribbled passed some of the players were very noticeable.

He will need to get used to higher intensity and much better defenders in Europe especially in PL. Also the physicality side of PL. Hence, a loan to gain experience even in Championship before playing in PL.

So you not knocking him by saying he’s “nowhere near PL ready”. You’re knocking those he’s playing against? I guess it’s lucky we’re not signing those he’s dribbling past then!

Of course he will face much better defenses in the PL, but I see nothing in his technique to suggest he’s nowhere near ready. Only time will tell how he fairs against better players, and if he does have deficiencies, they’ll be seen then.

The lad is 18 and looks like a mid-30s journeyman welterweight boxer. Should have no issues with the physicality of the league, you'd hope!

Look in his eyes! A fighter just came to the Theater of Dreams. Welcome, Diego!

What’s the point in that, we don’t have a forward that can head a ball
But we do... Maguire playing as a striker, last 20 minutes of key games, remember?

p.s. We really need to sign a real striker, you are right

I certainly don't think he's struggle in the PL physically or athletically. I don't care how physical this league is, how many teenagers in the PL have either or both this kid's level of physicality? And if they don't, and they do well still, then I think we can approach this with a little bit of optimism. He's been scouted in line with Amorim's ideals. If they think he's got the potential goods, then we should probably wait on LuckyScouting this kid into a Championship loan, no?

He looks powerful for 18 year old. But played in a shite league so stuff like he will be a starting LB iby November are laughable. Dorgu is much better player with more experience and he's raw. Give Leon time.

Let’s just see how he does in pre-season. Nobody expected the performance levels Heaven was delivering and yet he looked ready for the first team in his showings. Maybe Diego will be the same, maybe he will be too raw. It’s basically impossible to tell at this stage but I hope Amorin feels he’s at least ready to take part in pre-season so we can see.

Agreed. Let's not set too much expectations on the kid. He needs to settle into a new country and club. Not sure if he speaks English or not, but either way he shouldn't be loaned. Let him have a few months of fulfilling his dream move and see how he does.

That's just the difference in the leagues isn't it? Rather than a comment on the player himself.

No way you do videos like these and market him if he's not meant to be in the first team right away.

I think we'll see him compete this year for a left wing-back spot.
Yeah, he will need some time to adapt and won't/shouldn't be starter right away, but clearly he is here to start the work. No intention to go on a loan or anything. Wants to jump in the deep end and start competing for a spot right away

That’s the right mentality a player should have. Love the South Americans, they always have the right attitude

Watching the training video, I was very surprised to see how filled out he was compared to someone like Heaven. Maybe he can push for the first team, be interested to see him in a friendly.
