He is only 20 though and these types of muscle injury happens at this age.Had such bright hopes for him when he joined, but seems injuries are just stopping him ever get started. Let's hope he grows out of these!
Hes going to oust wan bissaka who is 1 year older? I doubt it.He is only 20 though and these types of muscle injury happens at this age.
He is going to be our future RB. Sadly, you wouldnt see that for at least 3 years.
I just don't see it. With Laird and Williams coming up fast he's going to have to take his chance soon!He is only 20 though and these types of muscle injury happens at this age.
He is going to be our future RB. Sadly, you wouldnt see that for at least 3 years.
I was under the impression that as you get older, your likelihood of injury increases. He is only 20 though and these types of muscle injury happens at this age.

There isn't anything wrong with having 2 x top RBs available to choose. We play a lot of games and plenty of injuries may occur meaning that both players would get ample chance of playing games.Hes going to oust wan bissaka who is 1 year older? I doubt it.
I agree with this. He's not a good enough defender to play full back against a decent side and going forward he's incredibly limited. Wan Bissaka is better on the ball and better at attacking positioning. AWB also seems to be a better crosser than him too, judging on appearances this season.Problem with playing him as a winger is that he offers absolutely nothing going forward. He doesn’t seem very fast, he doesn’t have a great technique, he isn’t a good crosser, and his passing is mediocre at best. And he is a bad defender.
In terms of when they are playing at fullback I would say Dalot is better on the ball, attacking positioning and just bringing the ball forward in general. Dalot has struggled when he's started games on the wing (although he's also had a couple of very good games there when he's come off the bench).I agree with this. He's not a good enough defender to play full back against a decent side and going forward he's incredibly limited. Wan Bissaka is better on the ball and better at attacking positioning. He is perfect for the AWB/Young role in a 3-4-3 (or 3-4-1-2) formation. He's caught in between positions. He's not good enough defensively to be a full back, and he's not good enough offensively to be an out and out winger. He is decent on the ball and has a good cross, I think he's best position is wing back in a 3-5-2 formation. Here his defensive faults are hidden, when he plays full back he seems to be always caught of position and seemingly always in a state of chasing usually quite a few yards behind the opposition winger. Going forward as we improve the squad, I see very limited action for him.
Not for AWB, he could certainly do the Young role, but that's a position we are surely looking to strengthen. Young, Shaw and even Dalot can't be viewed as long term solutions to the left back/wing back position. AWB pretty much has the right full back/wing back position sewn up. I'd like to see more of Williams this season at left back. We've a decent run of games coming up, I thing this would be a good time to start easing him into line up.He is perfect for the AWB/Young role in a 3-4-3 (or 3-4-1-2) formation.
At 20, you came to conclusion that he is not good enough defensively? And he is not a winger not sure how this narrative keep coming. He's caught in between positions. I see him as a better prospect than AWB. If we get someone like Poch, he would prefer Dalot than AWB.I just don't see it. With Laird and Williams coming up fast he's going to have to take his chance soon!
Why cant? Its not like AWB is pulling up trees attacking wise. He is just great defensively .Hes going to oust wan bissaka who is 1 year older? I doubt it.
I really don't see his attacking positioning being a strength it's fairly poor, and he's usually in the wrong spot. Dalot can carry the ball better and beat a defender on the ball, but they aren't really that useful for a full back.In terms of when they are playing at fullback I would say Dalot is better on the ball, attacking positioning and just bringing the ball forward in general. Dalot has struggled when he's started games on the wing (although he's also had a couple of very good games there when he's come off the bench).
The thing is...AWB has been a senior pro going on a full two seasons as the first choice RB (Palace and now United). He's also been called up to his national team, while Dalot cannot say the same for club or country.I see him as a better prospect than AWB. If we get someone like Poch, he would prefer Dalot than AWB.
yes I've watched him play. That's my views on him on what I've seen so far. Rashford is 21, a mere 1 yr older, and I don't think he's a centre forward, think he's better coming in off the flanks. Can, will Dalot improve, possibly, but I'm talking right now and he's not good enough defensively to play full back for us, simple as. I then said that he could play wing back where his defensive lapses aren't as noticeable, and his crossing ability might be better utilised. No-one said he's a traditional winger but he has been played there by us in the past. You can make assertions on players based on the here and now.At 20, you came to conclusion that he is not good enough defensively? And he is not a winger not sure how this narrative keep coming.
Yeah very immature to have an opinion. Bizarre. Why cant? Its not like AWB is pulling up trees attacking wise. He is just great defensively .
Both are very exciting talents and it would be very immature to judge who will have a better career .
So if you have good crossing capabilities, we should try as a winger ? Is that the criteria now ? We are a mess . So it doesn't tell you anything if we actually tried him and he failed there. Does this apply for full backs like Robertson or Digne when they were at the same age ?yes I've watched him play. That's my views on him on what I've seen so far. Works both ways mate. Yes, very bizarre to doubt someone's opinion that Dalot will have a better career.Yeah very immature to have an opinion. Bizarre.
Besides awb has probably been our best player this season (low bar sure). I'd rather a full back be solid defensively and learn to attack than the other way around.
I've just seen little to suggest dalot will be the better player. I'd suggest that in spending 45 million on a 21 year old to start ahead of him means ole and united feel the same way.
I said wing back, not winger, they are different positions. Right now he can't play full back for us in my opinion, he's not good enough defensively, his positioning is awful. I suggested in a previous post, he might be more suited to wing back as it masks his defensive frailities, and he's decent at getting forward and crossing. I also said I don't see him getting much game time as we continue to strengthen our squad over coming windows. Other poster suggested he could replace Young as a wing back, like we played v Liverpool. I merely agreed. No mention of him playing winger, in fact in my first post on this thread I said catergorically he's not talented enough offensively to play as an out and out winger, as some on here claim he could. Not sure why you getting so upset about criticism over a player. yes he's young, but he came with a lot of expectations and he hasn't lived up to them. If and when he does live up to these, he will get the credit he deserves. I can only comment on what I've seen so far, and it hasn't been great. You mention Robertson at 19, at 19 he was playing for Hull in premier league. Prior to that he's been playing regular first team football in Scotland. Dalot played 6 first team games for Porto. He's very inexperienced at all levels. Wan Bissaka is 1 yr older than Dalot, yet seems on another level. He needs game time, and right now it looks like even in this poor team we have, that he's not going to get regular football. So if you have good crossing capabilities, we should try as a winger ? Is that the criteria now ? We are a mess . So it doesn't tell you anything if we actually tried him and he failed there. Does this apply for full backs like Robertson or Digne when they were at the same age ?
Robertson was playing in a Scottish third division at 19 .
He doesn't fill me with confidence. Positionally, he's very suspect and doesn't seem to have either pace or stamina to make up for his weakness. On top of that, he can hardly remain fit.I'm confident Dalot will come good.
Surprised to see many of our fans seem to have written him off already.
Hope he manages to regain fitness soon.
I think he has potential as a right wing back, or even a right sided midfielder. He doesn't fill me with confidence. Positionally, he's very suspect and doesn't seem to have either pace or stamina to make up for his weakness. On top of that, he can hardly remain fit.
He was injured when we bought him and has rarely been fit since.Injured again?
I'm not. Our fans are generally idiots.Surprised to see many of our fans seem to have written him off already.
