Expected to be fit for the final, great news!
Amorim was a bit more circumspect in the presser, saying that he doesn't want to risk Dalot's injury becoming a more recurring problem [if he plays before fully recovering].

I hope he's available for the final, even if it's just on the bench, and I suspect the whole back 5 would depend on Dalot and Yoro's fitness, and Shaw's match-fitness

Would be quite nice to start with Amad RWB and have the option to sub Dalot in for a 10 and move Amad forward if we're winning in the second half.

Would rather keep it solid in the first half with Dalot at RWB, assuming he is fit enough to start.

We always seem to have issues defensively in the first half and play better in the second.

If Dalot is fit enough to start he should absolutely be starting. Allows us to play Amad in attack as well as making us defensively more solid. Fitness will be the issue but I'm sure there will be risks taken on this game that we wouldn't see usually.

Amad's been looking decidedly like a defensive risk when playing RWB after returning though. Not sure that's smart against what might be Son and Udogie.

Son isn't what he was at all and Amad should be giving Udogie more problems than the other way around.

I think the way to beat this Spurs side is to be brave and get at them, and that starts with the team selection. If we rock up with five pure defenders and Casemiro and Ugarte in midfield, we're going to have a bad time.

He was immediately better at RWB than Maz was. Not that Dalot would have been the difference maker, but his chemistry with Amad is so much better on that right.

Don't go along with the general opinion on here. A player I would certainly keep. Cannot understand why he didn't start the game.
He didn't start obviously as he's been injured for months and probably rushed back to play a part. Same with Zirkzee.

If you had to guess why he didn't start, what would you go with?
Probably because he's been sidelined for a while. However he looked sharp when he came on and started to immediately impact the game. Yes easy for me to say in hindsight but you would think the coaching staff would be monitoring him and prepared to take the risk. Especially when you look at the other options.

Surely you aren't serious. His last game was against Wolves a month ago, when he got injured. God knows how long his calf had been playing up before it took him out for a month. He was bound to get injured just like Saka this season. Starting him last night would've exposed how unfit he is, and we'd be all in here complaining about why Amorim made that decision.

Man Utd 2:0 Aston Villa New
He was awful yesterday. Genuinely can't wait to see the back of him.

We're on one accord here but may have to wait a few more windows seeing as we're not seemingly in the market for a RWB/fullback this summer (or are we?).

It seems to me Dalot is one of Amorim's favorite and most trusted players. He offered nothing against Villa and his blast over the bar was par for the course with him

I found it funny how he started demanding the ball in front of him from the centre backs after he came on. He’s never done that once as a starter.

I don't think we'll be actively pushing t sell him and will keep around 1 more season whilst there are other priorities, unless we get a decent offer this summer then by all means lets replace him now.

Yeah he's fine. I'd keep him unless we get a good offer - tries hard and in a back four has enough quality.

Sell Dalot, Garnacho, Mainoo and Bruno.

Buy Grealish, Wood and Watkins. Its a net positive spent.

Stupid idea, Jimmy please, dont do it.

I think he'll be backup to Amad next season.

If he had a final ball, he would be a good RWB. He runs up and down all game long, has good recovery pace and gets into good positions. But can't find the final ball into the box.

Get a right wing back and he becomes another option for the wide CB role. Which I think he'd be decent at. Allows him to do what he's good at, carrying the ball, pace, decent in the air. Takes away what he's not good at, that final third decision/pass.

Yeh I can see him playing RCB at points next season. I really doubt we sign anyone to replace Lindelof/Evans.

Expecting a much better season from him this year, he was overplayed last few years and constantly moved around to cover left back due to the others being broken, and with average players ahead of him which meant he had to carry the load while the center backs kept getting injured too, hurting the consistency defensively. He's a much better player than what we saw last season.

On one hand I think he'll end up playing or starting most games, but on the other I think we'll rotate him and Amad at RWB. Hard to say. And with no midweek games, anyone not starting regularly is probably going to be unhappy at their playing time.
