The one stain on todays performance.

He did some good, but it was interspersed with brainless mistakes - as always.

Thought he recovered really well after a shocking start. Kept his cool and kept Doku quiet despite spending basically the whole match on a booking

Should have been sent off and got away with playing a silly square ball at the start of the second half. Needs to look where he passes.

Other than that he was ok…

Worked his balls off and defended against doku really well. Credit where its due. Lucky not to get a red. Several bad passes but his defending was on point,

IMO, he was lucky not to be sent off - stupid challenge. Misplaced a few easy passes both in defence and in attack which could've cost a goal in either direction.

Otherwise, he was decent and had a few good 1v1s vs Doku. But he should of course be replaced my Mazraoui when he's back.

Stain is an incredibly harsh way to put what was a largley good perfomance in the end.

Yeah, started horribly and then far better for the rest.

What an idiot. I would be incensed if I was a City fan on that challenge not getting a red card. What's the need to go in like that so early in the game and ruining the whole week's preparation for the entire team after so much hostility and turmoil?

He needs a stern talking to if not a formal warning from the manager. Played well after that debacle though so I will give him that at least.

I don’t think that’s a red. Glancing contact that looks worse in slow motion. Doku went down like he’d been shot.

Don't know what you are talking about. It looks exactly how it should, a RED card. We should at least be man enough to admit it. It was high, it was late, and it was hard. The only thing that saved him was that it was too early in the game. Had that been in the 50th minute, I can assure you that he was a goner.

I am not complaining though as we have had a rough deal so far this season but that my friend was as clear a RED as you would ever see.

Absolutely fecking not. I’ve seen hundreds of challenges much more clearly red than this one.

He did well defending against Doku but his passing was abysmal and he was very lucky not to get sent off in the first half. Non of his mistakes cost us today but on another day they certainly will.

Nah, it wasn't a RED. He flicked the ball away and caught Doku's knee. There was barely any force in it and he won the ball.

Just something that can happen when two players are challenging for the ball and it wasn't reckless or with excessive force. Not a RED.

Why are we capitalizing RED?!

He is a complete liability and with midfield he is the most urgent one to be replaced. At least once a game he has a brainfart that can completely change the game. Zero footballing IQ, horrible player.

And yes it should have been a red.

There should be a Dalot20 discount coupon on tickets every game he starts.

I don't think a performance with what should have been a red card, and multiple ridiculous errors, can ever be called 'largely good'.

Not in control of the challenge but not enough force for a red for me. Will he learn from this? Definitely not!

Played quite well aside from that challenge and the poor pass out to Amad on the counter in the first half.

Like you say. Had a shocking start. I almost broke the tv yelling at him and seems like it pumped him enough to turn it around in the game.

Hopefully he's sold the next window, just a brainless footballer with some occassional good moments when he becomes overconfident but please stay away from the final third.

I suppose if you believe it was a red card that does change things a fair bit but I think that would've been an awful decision personally.

He recovered well and his second half was largely decent, but he could easily not have been on the pitch and also went on to feck up two promising attacking moves.

I can't fault his athleticism, it's the mental side of the game that he is well below par in.

Was a red for me, I can understand why people are saying it wasn’t but had it been at the other end I’d have been calling for it.

A few sloppy passes and gave possession away too easily a couple of times, that said he did a good job on Doku an we kept a clean sheet so that say a lot

It was a red card on another day for sure. The thing is he has moments where he actually does great things, tackles, passes, he clearly has a great engine too. But he's also the liability in this team and breaks up a lot of plays, passes poorly and has bad positioning. He's proper Jekyll and Hyde.

I'm starting to think a new starting RB might be the pressing issue more than other positions on the field at this point. Especially if we're going back to not playing wing backs.

You know we have Mazraoui in the squad right?

Dalot finished strong IMO. I think Dalot was our only bit of criticism warranted from today's game.

I think he may have been lucky to stay on the pitch. If he got sent off, the game would have been a different story.

Dalot can do some things so well, but other things awful.

Considering how well United did today, let's just be happy for a week! :)

I used to think the criticism of him was a bit over the top on here at times but I am fully in the ‘he’s absolutely useless’ camp nowadays. Get rid.

First half was a bit woeful and was lucky to not get a red IMO (even if borderline, VAR tends to give that). Maybe saved by it being early.

Very good 2nd half though! Still should be ousted by Mazraoui when he comes back. The amount of times he kills the Old Trafford roar with a sloppy pass is hilarious

Even in the midst of an absolutely dominant performance, he stuck out like a sore thumb. Shocking shocking player.

Thank God VAR did not do its job otherwise he could have derailed the whole thing with that brainless tackle.

Yeah but Dalot should be sold and replaced. If not from the academy, buy someone
So it wouldn’t be a starting RB we would be looking for then? With the other issues we have in the squad, I’d be happy to go another season with Mazraoui starting and Dalot as back-up. Not ideal but other areas need urgent attention.

He came closest to inflict damage to our performance today, out of all the City players that is. New RB must be a priority, I’d buy one this month.

Never a red card. Not a dangerous not reckless tackle, no force behind it whatsoever. It's ridiculous that people think any time you show studs it's a red.

Recovered well after a couple of glaring errors. He's quite good when he's not making stupid decisions

Keano always demanded players show more passion and aggression during derbies. Kick their players, get a red card!

Oh the irony.
