I thought he was excellent, found space well, drove with the ball, his passing was very good and solid defensively.
Maradona's resting. This one's Diogo
Okay, I'll bite. Name me one brain fart he had since Carrick came in?Credit to him. He's playing with confidence and having fewer brain farts these days. On the rare occasions where Spurs tried countering, he showed good recovery pace to win the ball back.
That high challenge on Doku?Okay, I'll bite. Name me one brain fart he had since Carrick came in?
I must concede to that one, that one was rash. First game with Carrick in charge though, and he's been nothing short of great thus far. That high challenge on Doku?
Indeed. The intention of my post was to praise him on his improvement recently. He's a nailed on starter now.I must concede to that one, that one was rash. First game with Carrick in charge though, and he's been nothing short of great thus far.
All good buddy, long may his great performances continue!Indeed. The intention of my post was to praise him on his improvement recently. He's a nailed on starter now.
Seems Carrick has him more inverted with Amad giving width, which is smart since his best ever season with us that’s where he played (22/23).Has he really been playing as a right-back?
His starting position looks to be at RCB with quite a lot of freedom to join in attack.
Solid again, but too many of our fans have a hard on for wanting him to be shite
Yeah, he's letting him abuse his athleticism while giving solidity to the defense and midfield. He muscled off Sarr at one point coming from an unfavourable position. It does leave Amad a bit isolated at times which probably why Mbemo was playing more on the right in the 2nd half.Seems Carrick has him more inverted with Amad giving width, which is smart since his best ever season with us that’s where he played (22/23).
Dalot is a phenomenal athlete and good carrier, he’s far more useful tuck in than he is as a true flying fullback (although he was fantastic today all around)
It’s very strange.Solid again, but too many of our fans have a hard on for wanting him to be shite
Strong game from Diogo, excellent assist too
The amount of people saying RB is priority 1 are clueless. When he plays in a back 4 he’s been very good, Amorim was ruining him at a position that was always going to be unrealistic for him to fill.Solid again, but too many of our fans have a hard on for wanting him to be shite
Yes?Has he really been playing as a right-back?
Look at his average position on Sofascore and compare it to Shaw on the other side in the last two games. Their heatmaps are also quite different. He's more central and very close to Maguire.Yes?
Exactly. He has always been a decent Right back. Switch him between right wing back, left back and left wing back you have a shit player. The amount of people saying RB is priority 1 are clueless. He’s a right back. We’re playing with two CBs and two fullbacks.Look at his average position on Sofascore and compare it to Shaw on the other side in the last two games. Their heatmaps are also quite different. He's more central and very close to Maguire.
I’m glad Dalot is playing well, but there’s no one who has seen both play that would ever pick Dalot.Diogo Dalot vs Garry Neville
Who do you pick as your RB choice?
I honestly do not remember what Garry strengths really were. Obviously he had many as you do not start every week for a club this size. One thing Dalot has over Garry is his versatility as he can do a job in different positions. Would we be this successful if Dalot was played in G.Nevs position back then?
Bobby Noble was the best right back post MunichDiogo Dalot vs Garry Neville

I don’t think it is. Yes he’s played better since Carrick came in…but I will never be convinced by him as he has an extensive body of terrible performances and braindead mistakes spanning several years and countless managers under his beltIt’s very strange.
