Can our coaches just stick him on crossing practice in every training session until his technique improves? It's been like this for years. For every assist for Bruno vs Spurs, there's 100 overhit crosses in between.
It's really frustrating isn't it. He actually gets himself into some really good progressive positions and just seems to lack vital composure on his delivery

Yes there were a few fine...not amazing...performances recently but he will never be the RB we need. Doesn't offer enough defensively or going forward. I can understand why he has fans with his apparent good attitude but come on we deserve more. Yes he is the team cheerleader but unfortunately every bit as thick as one too

Good interview with Rio

He may not be a fantastic player but he is the type of person you want in the squad and has a good mentality

A lot of interesting tidbits. He is a good talker and despite his inconsistency on the pitch obviously does practice what he preaches in terms of his preparation and mentality.

Ronaldo having an influence on Fletcher and Dalot over 3 decades is quite the feat.

Unpopular opinion. I think Dalot is the kind of player who signs for Madrid and it completely changes people's perception of him.
He has alot going for him. He's supremely athletic, technically sound, good ball carrier, has size and is very good in the air for a fullback. He's also a competitor and is extremely durable.

His poor finishing and occasional brain fart earns him far more criticism than he deserves.

I don't think he is that prone to brain farts, the problem with him is that he is more of an old school fullback, pretty much the same as Shaw. They can't really fullfill neither of the two ways modern fullbacks or wingbacks are used. His passing and on the ball ability isn't good enough to tug in and play the fullback role that morphs into a defensive midfielder he also can't play the attacking fullback that provides width in the final third of the pitch and runs up and down the flank like a mad man. In short, he is just a very limited player in what he does well. I also have a particular dislike for the way he sometimes just dozes of in games seems to be not present on the pitch under Carrick that has almost completely vanished so it might very well be a confidence thing. He isn't a shit player, far from it but he also isn't a game changer. I feel like he is the type of squad player we used to have even under SAF. A fullback you can bring in if the main thing you are looking for is defensive stability or in the games against the big teams that offer you counter attacking possibilities but not the type of player you play when you are up against an underdog that plays a deep block.

In fairness he won our player of the year playing that role in ETH first season.

Really loved this interview. He is the type of character to keep around.

I think he's been filling too many roles, and it impacts your consistency. That and the fact that our defensive shape as a whole has been ass for a while now, it's not surprising that he and others have had brain farts. Lets not pretend as if it's him alone.

Haven't watched the interview yet but I really like the way he conducts himself. Seen something during the week about how Sesko is the model professional and it was no surprise that it is Dalot along with him that is first in and last out every day at training. He obviously looks after himself very well to be always fit and available.

Can be frustrating to watch at times, but there's an obvious value add to the squad in having a super-professional player who can play 50-odd games a season across RB/LB.

At still just 26, he's not likely to be someone I want out of the squad any time soon, even if I would like him out of the starting eleven.

Yep. I think there's a longer term decision to be made about him and a few others post summer '27 if we want to challenge for the big trophies but until then, he's a great player to have in the squad.

I think we go into next season with say Dalot-Maguire-Heaven-Mazraoui as our back up defence. That puts in a decent position to cope with 55+ games especially when a number of our defenders can play in multiple positions.

Everton 0:1 Man Utd New
Most improved player under Carrick.....

Been quietly pretty solid again for a while now.

Hell of a strike in that first half as well, pretty unlucky not to find the corner with it.

Good performance from him overall but especially in the first half, second half he could have been better on a couple of occasions in the final third though.

He's rather good when he gets it together. He's a very solid RB minus some rather bad mistakes but he's genuinely tough to handle. He's very quick, tough to beat at aerial duels and has good technique with both feet. He should be better than what he's been showing over the years, i think he's genuinely underrated.

I wonder what people would say if Everton have scored from that ridiculous touch of his near his own 18 yard box? That being said, bar that one, he had a solid game. One of the few fullbacks who can actually take on his man and get past. His final product is lacking, as it always has been, but great engine, great physicality and more mature in his play lately

He was poor defending in second half. Strangely was better going forward. Need to be replaced this summer

Did well enough. Just no end product unfortunately

Arguably should have had an assist at the end after he crossed brilliantly for Sesko.

Some iffy moments but overall a good game from him. When he gets things right his overall athleticism, technique and willingness to execute in those moments makes him a really progressive player.

Some really braindead takes in here. Dude is playing his heart out, yet some twats don't want to give him his due.

He was great tonight.

The Dalot Agenda, if he did anything wrong the same witch hunters come out in droves in the match day thread. A lot of piss takes really.

I am the first to criticise him and he often drives me mad but he deserves credit for his recent performances.
He was rock solid tonight.

Easily our best player in the first half, decent second half too. The way he set up Seško for the late chance was fantastic.

Another game, another solid performance from him. Thought the whole backline for the most part did decent. Just carry on like this and top 4 is in are hands. Just need the forwards and midfield to step up now because we look ok at the back.
