Bad performance, but he has been decent recently.

I don't think we will prioritize right back in the summer. With Mazraoui and Dalot we have two somewhat decent options, while midfield, left back and left wing really need more attention.

Worst performance I've seen from him since Carrick became interim. I'd put Mazraoui ahead of him based on that last performance, but Shaw being a sick note doesn't really leave us with a lot of options.

He needed shipping out years ago. He’s never been good enough. Ole realised this and sent him on loan to Milan. That should have been the end of his time here but, somehow, he’s still here.

Still there and still has a possible 3 years (2+1) left on his current deal.

86% pass accuracy today. Bruno's was 76%. 2 accurate crosses out of 4. The amount of stick on here is mad.

It's almost like they play in totally different positions and play totally different games. It's ALMOST like this is an absolutely meaningless comparison.

Total pass accuracy for a member of the back four is pretty pointless as they’re going to rack up much more simple, short passes than most other positions on the pitch, never mind the attackers. So comparing him with Bruno is absurd. Unless your only reason for doing that is a drive by on our captain?

The reason he’s getting grief is because we all saw how often he made a mess of some really simple passes. And, unlike Bruno, didn’t make up for that by making a single even slightly impressive contribution going forwards.

Ha, I didn't respond to your other attempt at anti Bruno wummery in his performance thread at least!
Look Bruno was typical Ole days Bruno. Won us the game with an outstanding 10 minutes of brilliance, but he gave the ball away stupidly too much in the 1st half. He literally rolled the ball with the sole of his foot out of play at 1 stage. I'm just trying to show that Dalot wasn't half as bad as is being made out here. 86% possession isn't woeful considering Shaw was at 70% before he went off.

Bruno made a similar number of goofs but as you say he gets away with it because he did his main job beautifully. I don't remember Dalot getting destroyed by their left sided player either, unlike Munoz for Palace, so maybe, apart from the goofs he was OK.

He was dreadful.

No.

Part of a defense that kept Palace to 0.38xg. He must have done something right. Fans need their punchbag, I suppose.

So what? We are capable of judging individual performances on their merit having watched the game rather than trying to instead extrapolate for a team stat like xG.

Horrendous on the ball in the first half, the giveaways were driving me insane. But he was still really good defensively throughout and much better in 2nd.

Ten minutes of brilliance is massively underselling him yesterday.

He was disguisting in that first half. So much so he was being mocked inside the stadium.

The calls for him to be removed before 30 mins were very noticeable. And the sarcastic cheers when he actually completed a pass were very loud.

No Bruno mostly attempted high risk passes that didn't come off, very few of them were "goofs". Dalot repeatedly misplaced simple passes and caused multiple dangerous turnovers. There is absolutely no equivalence to their performances. Dalot is a liability, if we are not going to replace him then Maz should start when everyone is fit.

I remember the fans ridiculing Nani. A fantastic United player. I don't place much stock in the average football fan. The mob mentality forms so quickly.

He's definitely wrong. There's plenty of evidence out there that if you have a large number with one opinion, versus one or two "experts" who have a different opinion, more often than not, the large number is correct.

He was crap yesterday. Multiple simple passes misplaced, killed some promising moves going forward, and put us in danger of quick counter a few times too.

Wrong about what? He was poor in possession overall but good out of possession. He was part of a good if not amazing defensive performance. What's wrong about that?

Nani was a fantastic United player, who had some amazing seasons for us before turning to utter garbage. Standards were also a lot higher back then - Dalot is not a top half PL footballer regardless. We need someone who is reliable and at the very least be able to execute the basics. Dalot has shown he consistently can not play a simple pass, carry the ball without mis-controlling it, or cross it without ballooning it out of play at the other sideline i.e. the basics for a PL right back. Yeah he's okay defensively and postionally but is that really the benchmark for a United right back?

We should be in for a top right back in the summer, and we'll see how much that changes our football. Not really sure how Nani is even coming into this conversation

The frustrating thing is he has a great engine, never gets injured and really does understand the positioning required. He gets into great positions. He just invariably screws up when he does. He's a fine squad player. He shouldn't be a first choice if we ultimately have title aspirations.

Had we kick Amorim to the curb sooner we could be battling for the title.

Showed his pros and cons.

Pros: He is available as the other 3 of Carrick's stable back 4 have become injured.
Cons: Brain

His first bench-start since November?

When Shaw had to leave the field (for illness) after 24 mins 3 days ago?

I welcome giving Maz the nod ahead of Dalot, just seems like weird timing.

Had a poor game against Palace in that first half so whilst he shouldn't be that surprised about being a sub, I'd personally have a bit more confidence with Dalot against the relatively one-note pace merchants Newcastle have got on the wings. Mazraoui has been a bit iffy with his cameos this season so hopefully he can show that he's the same usually dependable and progressive player we've seen for the previous couple seasons.

Newcastle 2:1 Man Utd New
Got in really good crossing positions several times ( about 4 times in a 40 second passage of ply) with multiple players in the box including big targets Sesko and Zirkzee and went backwards everytime.

Please get rid in the summer. Useless.

We must replace him.

He is quite the low level player who is capable of being just good few times to flatter how shite he is.

We need a new RB next season.

Bet we can palm him off on some suckers in Spain for a decent amount.

Getting pinged by the ref for pulling the Newcastle players jersey when they're facing their own goal line with nowhere to go...

I completely lost it. I could've put my fist through my monitor I was so pissed off.

How the feck is he still playing for this club?!
