Cant blame him,he neither offered himself a contract nor selects himself for matches. He is one of the symptoms of what's wrong with the club and the coach.

He was outmuscled in the first 20 seconds which set the tone for his abject performance yesterday. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting eleven

Gave a great pass before the penalty.... im just not sure if he intended to do that.
 that was my impression as well, that pass was so un-Dalot-like, hard to believe that it was completely intentional. If yes, fair fecks to him

One of the worst players to wear a utd shirt in recent years.

He offers nothing other than enthusiasm and fitness. He lacks a football brain, he cannot defend, he cannot attack. He struggles with the basics and has shown no sign of improvement since Mourinho signed him many years ago.

A likeable guy, a true professional who trains hard and sets good examples and this is why so many managers favour him, sadly nowhere near the level and needs to leave while he still has some value.

Had a decent 3 months was it last year of the year before but he's in his 8th year at United. Somehow this clown has lasted that long, mistakenly thought wing back might suit but he's even worse then he was at fullback.

We'll struggle getting rid of him next summer I'd imagine as his wages don't reflect his ability, how he continues to make Portugal squads is beyond me.

Probably for the same reason he makes our squad, lack of better options or the better options are injured.

He's a decent right back asked to play wing back and can't do it. The system is more at fault.

The system isn't more at fault, come on. He's an average (at best) right back who has failed to meet any performance standards since he came here. He's not good enough even for a mid table team.

Nope. He had one very good season, and had already reverted to being shit in a back four before Amorim came in.

That doesn't explain his movement for the second goal. Nothing can explain that.

Somebody will try and come up with a tactical explanation but it's just insane defending. It's Dalot distilled.

Its players like him, there are numerous others, why I dont believe simply changing the system/tactics is going to see an uplift in performance/results. We have too many dogshit footballers still that yurn out for us week in/week out!

Agreed and a lot of those are capable of playing well in periods but given each will cost us several games throughout a season it adds up.

Bayindir, Onana, Shaw, Maguire, Dalot, Ugarte, Casemiro are all going to cost you 3-4 goals a season. I'd like any new manager to come in after we've replaced this lot otherwise it undermines the mentality of making progress.

He’s fine as a back up right back. I was hoping he’d kick on when he had that decent spell a while back, but he’s clearly not a wing back.

We do as fans buy into these little spells a bit too much.

I think everyone in the Prem can have a few games where it clicks for them. That's the level they're at. It doesn't really mean much. I'm guilty of buying into a few good games.

We can keep him as a squad player if we want to, he can come on and bring some legs after 70 mins but like the goalkeeper, this guy is a disaster for a backline.

I felt harsh in the past questioning his IQ but there really is no other conclusion to be made.

He went full Forrest Gump at weekend. Open the gates and he'd have run straight out.

He's probably the best athlete at the club. What that means is in the eye of the beholder. Should have been turfed out when AWB went, but here we are.

He's not really worth pages of discussion as he is what he is and it rarely changes even a little bit.

Our standards are also on the floor after more than a decade of deterioration. It’s not even that Dalot occasionally has periods of actual great play, he just has periods of not making such obvious defensive errors that lead to us conceding goals so the focus shifts elsewhere. The same way Garnacho’s defenders last season kept going on about him being our most “threatening” player, when he wasn’t actually getting goals or assists, he would just run at defences a lot either losing the ball or fluffing the final pass or shot in the process. There seems to be some collective amnesia over what constitutes really good play, and really good players.

Even that season when Dalot won the players player of the year award, his one outstanding attribute was simply staying fit and available in a season where the rest of the squad was decimated by injuries.

Pound for pound, the worst player in the history of the club. There have been less talented players, but not any of them have amassed over TWO HUNDRED appearances.

Maguire at £80m, Antony at £85m, Sancho at £72m, Van de beek at £40m all say hi.
Maguire has been fine for us overall, won us his fair share of games at both ends of the field. The meme agenda against him was embarrassing.

The others combined amassed only a little over the appearance number dalot has

When you watch full clip from behind the goal and just look at him. It's fecking hilarious how bad his defensive movement and awareness was, it's like he made a run as if he was getting towards the goal for an attacking cross.

Genuinely have no idea how he's been at the club for so long, just an awful footballer.

Dalot is symptomatic of the problems at this club for the past decade or more.

Turns in the odd decent performance here and there and it's enough to trick some fans into believing he's a good player, and it's apparently enough to earn him a United contract in perpetuity.

That pass was a miss kick.

He absolutely, 100% did not mean that pass.

It's like the open goal he missed last year v West Ham when he blasted over, and Ten Hag got sacked after the game. People were speculating that he missed on purpose to get Ten Hag sacked. I said he's not good enough to miss on purpose.

He’s the worst player I’ve seen at since Fergie left. And that includes all our flop signings, including Antony.

Boggles my mind how players like this are still around the club.

We knew 5 years ago he wasnt good enough and yet here we are.... again.

He played against us while on loan at Milan a few years ago, and wildly celebrated a goal. I thought it was weird when he was still our player and didn't expect to see him back here. That was two or three managers ago.

In a way, he's a really weird player. Physically pretty talented, high rate of availability and capable of good moments in the final third. He's just never been able to improve his deficiencies in positioning, awareness and reading the game defensively, which is a shame, because if he did that, he could have been a decent back-up to have.

'Dalot isn't a full back he's too good going forward' they cried...so now he's in his dream position and he's complete Dogshit, yet the mediocrity supporting fans urge him to be tried at right back again. There is no defending keeping Dalot at the club. If you support this guy you need to get your head out of the gutter, we need much much better

Yeah, he is the opposite of Rafael to me. Rafael was an intelligent player even from a young age but unlike Dalot he was quite small for a PL defender and injury prone. Dalot is tall, stronger, can run for days but never really learned positioning and his crossing is more of a gamble than a calculated move. Dalot has too many brainfarts to be a mainstay in this team.

If we watch backLiverpool 7-0 United game carefully, him and Shaw were responsible for at least 5 of the goals we conceded.

Him and Shaw epitomize post-Fergie United

Can't wait to see the back of them. No faith in us not getting replacements who are worse though.

Dalot is just an average player. Someone we should have got rid of awhile ago. Take Munoz from Palace for example, he'd be an instant upgrade on Dalot in that position and Munoz isn't even in the top five in Europe in that position.

Put Hakimi or Frimpong in that role and you've completely changed the output of the team from one position alone. Just imagine that same approach for all our problem positions and we are looking at a very different animal in Utd.

The standards and benchmarks for players has dropped so low, that Dalot is into his 8th season as a Utd player.

It's a shame because he's basically stagnated he still plays as a 20-21 year old. Good speed, good technique, good physicality but braindead. It's like he has learned nothing in all this years playing in top league. He hasn't developed at all. He's 26 now he won't improve what were seeing it's his level and it's simply not good enough neither in defense nor in attack.

Agree. The only time he improved/developed was during his loan spell at Milan. He didn't start a lot of games for them but he did come back a better player and if I remember correctly, they wanted to sign him permanently.
