I know feck all about the house/electric music scene in NYC, to be honest. Just getting into this. Prior to getting into this I was (and still am!) a hip-hop/dancehall junkie.
Electric Zoo is Labor Day weekend, and I'll be in the area anyways, so I'll definitely look at that. A trip to Ibiza is on my bucket list as well.

The one in Ibiza has the best soundsystem I've ever heard.

Thanks mate. It's for all summer, May-Sept. Only at one of the smaller bars, Viva (funnily enough), but it's won best bar in Ibiza 6 years running and they've just installed Funktion One so looking forward to it

Will give this a listen on the weekend, when you say 'sounds changed', do you mean you're incorporating what you were playing or what was trending in Ibiza? or your actually style has changed?
I definitely don't go with the trends. If anything what I was playing before was more like what was in 'fashion' in Ibiza. I started playing a bit heavier though, more techy if anything but still keeping it housey. I wanted to stand out so it seemed to work for me. Was also influenced by the nights I was going to regularly like VIVa Warriors and Used + Abused.
