Do we need to sign a striker?

I know Lewandowski would probably be a bad idea and would stop Sesko's development, but he started 15 games in La Liga this season and scored 13 goals. Could we not just wheel him on at 70 minutes given Carrick point-blank refuses to make any subs before that time?
Yeah I want to see it happen too, yes I know he's 38

Ideally we'd sell Zirkzee and bring in a more competent rotational striker. Premier league based options would be expensive, so maybe a more European option.

Maybe Schick or Guirassy

“Oh. Sorry. You meant someone who isn’t shite. Maybe lead that with that next time.”

Kane is not leaving assured trophies for perhaps
Unlikely but not impossible. There is a case to put to him. 1) Finish your career with a couple of Bundesliga trophies or come to United and end your career being a cult hero at Tottenham, Bayern and United. Being a United hero will do wonders for his post football C.V. More than Bayern and Tottenham except in Germany. It will open doors and give him a much bigger spotlight if he want to move to presenting or sponsorship or anything else.
2) Come get your leading Premiership top scorer accolade. Only 43 goals off. 15 goals a season for 3 years. This must surely be something he thinks about. Being known as all time Prem Top scorer (until Haaland comes. But we wont tell hm that) is a massive badge of honor. Any best striker in Prem discussions he will be there. He will be there anyway but not with the same zeal as being a Man Utd player and top Prem goal scorer of all time.
3) You have never won anything in England. This must stick in his craw. Nothing. Nada. It will always be a stick to beat him with and he must have always dreamed of winning something. Come to United and hopefully we get the Prem but even if not you could get an FA cup at least, heck a League Cup. Win something. Heck it could be argued that winning a League Cup could be more special than a fourth Bundesliga - for him.

I ask you Kane 'Have you reached all your dreams in the Prem. Are you satisfied. Will you look back and always wonder what could have been even with 4 Bundesliga titles.'

Lads and Ladies get your cash together you're sending me to Germany.

I do not mind Watkins. I think he is very handful, his runs and finishing is still top notch. Or we can look for Toney/ Mateta. The profile should be very clear, big and strong CFs who can handle the premier league and can play a bit.

If not Kane (see my previous post) I dont see how you can look past Mateta. Prem Proven with 3 seasons of 10 plus goals, France international for 30 mill. Why no one is going for him except Milan I have no idea. OK he doesn't have blinding pace or is he world class but he gives something different and I cant see who else can tick as many boxes for 30 mill

Get a left winger like mitoma and rotate Cunha as a striker, or a pure hardworking striker like ayase Ueda for 25 million pound, can't go wrong with Japanese players and reasonable transfer fee.

Heh

Definitely need a back up striker, cannot expect Sesko to play every game and moving players into his position if injured or rested seems to weaken us in other areas.

I don’t really see Kane thinking like this. He’s too loyal to Spurs I think. Just look at how long he stayed in a broken marriage with them.

Would be great here though, but the fee is better spent on someone more long term in other positions.

Just been announced he is leaving Barcelona at end of the season.

Fits what we are after perfectly, won’t play every game, and will offer experience to Sesko.

What are we thinking? 1 year deal?

A couple of outlets reporting he’s been offered €90million per season net salary to move to Saudi. He has also hinted now might be time to go to a lower league and “enjoy life”. Can’t see this one happening unfortunately.

Would ring him up honestly just to see if he wants to continue in Europe rather than Saudi/MLS.

No one better for Sesko to learn from

Lewandowski has been a fantastic player but I'd prefer us not to get a stop gap striker. Someone like Toney, Watkins or Mateta are better options as they have premier league experience and have a good number of years at the top. We will have plenty of games next season so we need to be careful not to burn Sesko out while also giving time to see if someone like Chido could be a long term first team player

Chido is still young and incredibly raw, not ready yet at all.

Chido isn’t ready for PL football, a loan would suit him better

Would be wonderful on a one-year Zlatan style deal

But yeah, a lot of cash to be made elsewhere for him instead!

Yea this is what I meant. Sesko and someone like Mateta as first choice strikers. Chido either playing some minutes in the cup or loaned out, with the aim of Chido being ready in a year or two

He had to be on 350/400k a week at Barcelona. If he's looking for that kind of pay he's Saudi bound. Would love to have him here a depth option for a year or two but doubt he would take half that.

But he's mega money isn't he, I don't think we'd want to pay him half the salary he earns in Saudi.
He’s got to have an understanding that the salary he gets in Saudi is not real life. And with Saudis cutting investments into sport, that life may end soon anyway. What better way to go out, after making a ton of money is a move back to the PL, at Manchester United. Puts himself back in the England spotlight too
