Nope. Being way overblown considering there’s no obvious market signing that would be a nice backup. We have a young budding star striker: play him and let him develop. And if he struggles we have the option of both Cunha and Mbuemo that can play as a floating 9.

The wages will be an issue with Rashford, however think someone comes in for Zirkzee
I just think we need someone kind of forward for squad depth, especially if Zirkzee goes. I’m not too fussed on profile, we’ve got some variety in styles already, but we’ll need another body to cope with the extra games and to help us off the bench.
I think we have missed the boat for Kane in 2023 mainly due to Levy pretty much refusing to sell him to another PL team. I suspect that Toney's wages in Saudi will prove prohibitive for us too.
Players don’t leave the SA league expecting the same level. He’s got a couple of years worth of wages that will set him up for life.

I don't think they're expecting the same, but their expectations are warped. Top earner for us right now would be 200k, I just don't expect we'd give him that or he'd accept that.
We don't have another 9 in squad to backup sesko, therefore would prefer that to a wide forward as feel Cunha and Mbeumo can offer that

It simply depends on their motivations. If their motivation continues just to be wealth generation, then we simply aren’t interested.

Agree. I think therefore if Toney were to accept our wage structure, it would point to him having the right motivations. But I don’t think that would be the case.

I have a feeling we'll see Mbeumo and Sesko as the main strikers this season and signing a player for the RW will be a priority over a striker

Cuhna and Dorgu both play on the left side, I'd expect them to sign a RW if Mbeumo moves to centre forward it only leaves Amad on the right side
Think Utd will buy someone, but it will be towards the end of the window and dependant on how much we have left after getting the central midfielders in and LW or LB.

Can't quite work out why this isn't getting more attention. We 100% HAVE to sign a centre forward. Sesko hasn't shown he's able to stay fit, and no club in the world should only have one CF in the first XI. Mbuemo is not a good CF, nor is Cunha.

I really like that Brazil striker. Has some flair and a great goal celebration.
My theory is that Carrick’s biggest influence is the 2007/08 team. We had one number 9 in Saha. We frequently played Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez, none of whom were a 9. I think the Sesko alternative is fluidity, but we’d still need another forward body in terms of numbers for that.

My view is that United need to sign an established striker who is either in his prime or just entering it. With Champions League football back, we’ll have significantly more games next season, and we need someone who can lead the line from day one.
I don’t see Zirkzee as a long-term solution for this squad. I think he’d benefit more from playing regularly elsewhere, where he can continue his development without the pressure of being expected to lead Manchester United’s attack.
Šeško has huge potential and could absolutely become part of our long-term project. However, I don’t think he’s quite ready yet to be the undisputed first-choice striker for Manchester United in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
In an ideal world, Šeško would be the second striker behind an elite, proven number nine—someone like Harry Kane. Obviously, that’s not a realistic signing.
So the question is: are there any realistic strikers in or around their prime who could genuinely improve us immediately? Julián Álvarez is one possibility if his situation at Atlético develops further, but who else should United be looking at?

I'd rather we didn't have another out and out striker in the squad unless over 26 and able to bring experience coming mostly off the bench behind Sesko.

I don't think here is an chance personally of Utd bringing in a striker like alverez when it's been communicated and understood that Sesko is out lead striker. He's the project and we have invested heavily in him.
Also our most pressing need is 2/3 CMs. I don't see Utd spending more than £30/40mil on a backup / alternative striker to Sesko.

I find the Wellbeck link confusing. As surely if we wanted him, we could have signed him in a free before he penned a new deal with Brighton. My guess is Brighton would want £15-20mil for him.
