Do we need to sign a striker?

If he's sensible and has a good agent. They should be targeting a move to Everton. Better than Barry and Beto and Moyes will make him into a solid striker for Everton.
 
TeamTalk are having a brain fart and suggesting that United, Arsenal and Spurs are all discussing a possible move for Osimhen.

However I think they proved a long time ago that their brain farts come to nothing

Makes no sense considering Sesko is and will continue to be first choice. Osimhen won’t come in to be a rotational option

It would also be nice if we could have the quality of Sesko or Osimhen to come from the bench. That's how Sesko was so successful for us to begin with under Carrick and that's how every top team should be.
 
Ollie Watkins would have been an ideal short-term solution for our needs... Provides solid PL experience and reliability for 2-3 years until hopefully Sesko and JJ become our striking force
 
This idea that we cant possibly get anyone that unsettles Sesko and it needs to be a back up is nonsense. Anyone remember our 4 strikers - Ole, Sheringham, Yorke and Cole.
I say get Kroupi. Normally Id say go for a more established striker but there are not many out there and Kroupi looks special. Maybe have to play Rashford, Mbuemo, Cunha as back up strikers till Jan since he's injured. But the more quality attackers the better I say. Let Sesko and Kroupi fight it out. Plus Kroupi can play on the left or 10.
 
Sesko is 23, needs to prove he’s good enough and seems to get injured quite often, so of course we need a CF. But it depends on who is available. I’d rather sign someone who can start even if it means waiting. Don’t like the idea of giving young players the keys and then building support staff around them. I don’t think Sesko has earned that yet.

Having said that, given we have a few players who can play up top left wing and especially LB are more crucial this summer.

Agree. We have enough games coming our way and Sesko is unavailable enough that signing a starting striker to compete with Sesko is sensible. A 23 yo striker who hasn't proven much doesn't get to have an understudy or guaranteed starter status

What I wouldn’t give for prime RVN up top for us right now, he’d be perfect for where the game is right now and would blow Haaland away as RVN had more to his all round game.

Kroupi is out injured 3-4 months with a foot injury.
 
I was laughed at when I said we must hijack Welbeck transfer. Still think he would have been perfect for what we need
 
What is actually happening with Benjamin Sesko? Do we know whether this is a long term problem?

Not to feature, at all, for pre-season is significant. Is he ok?

But yes, we need to get someone in (unless Marcus Rashford wishes to grow up and lead the line at Manchester United FC and smash in a few goals...)

For me personally prime RVN as he was a pure centre forward and wasn’t concerned with anything other than putting the ball in the net, imagine how many goals RVN would have scored last season on the end of Bruno assists

I think he’s back training with the squad now unless I’m mistaken? He just hadn’t had enough sessions yet to be considered for the Milan game.

Frustrating for sure.
 
To what extent would Zian Flemming be a cheap impact sub option? Suprised no one has picked him up so far..
 
It would be nice. Otherwise it’s Mbeumo, Cunha and Sesko for that role all season.

Even that line up rivals the current Champions. There really are an incredible shortage of top CFs out there these days.
 
Coventry have just signed Awoniyi for £9m

I've taken him, another option, big strong guy up top

Difference is though we for Mbeumo and Cunha its not their natural positions and they are likely starters in other positions as well..

I think he'd be good as a back up. Also the sort of physicality that would be good of the bench. Not sure he's really the level we need though.
