Injury riddled centre forward who only moves after the money doesn't seem like the best idea for a title chasing team

Arsenal are the latest club to enquire about him and not take it further

Unless he’s prepared to drop his salary he’s going nowhere

Fergie always had 4 top strikers, cole yorke /, sherringham Solsekjaer were the 99 strikers… and here we are with one out and out centre forward in Sesko who is very injury prone, resulting in us frequently playing a number 10 or winger as striker or false 9.

We need 2 more strikers minimum

Whats happened to our club, the biggest club in the UK acting like a small team..
 
Imagine splashing 70mil for Sesko who has a great built but cant cover the ball properly and has a first touch of a donkey, not even good in the air for his spring he mistimes headers with not much accuracy.

Gyokeres looked overpriced too for a 11th best league striker and his age which make Arsenal regret that maybe, but at least he's available!

Woltemade looked good first few games than fell from a cliff. Delap was always a cheap punt and injured first season.

And then you have Pedro people laughed about that he is not a proper 9, yet he easily adapted as expected. I can see RM soon be after him. He's genuinely world class player with immense dribbling and hold up skills, who will be the best goalscorer this year. Even better version than FIrminho.
 
I genuinely think part of the reasoning why we haven't gone for a back up striker or even a first choice striker is because the club knows that we could always put Cunha or Mbuemo in that position. In fact, now that Rashford is back, he could even go there. In the club's mind, we probably have enough cover for that position.

The part that doesn't sit right with me is that none of those players are fully committed to the cf position. The best fit is Sesko, and he is still learning his trade. The options for that position are very unconvincing.

At the same time, we are living in a time where the centre forward role has changed a lot and lots of teams tend to favour advanced midfielders, false 9 positions, or players out wide who drift inside. As well as that, there's a dearth of quality strikers out there, and even less who are available for transfer, and that's without getting into the cost.

What we're basically after is a substitute striker who can come into games late on and get us a goal from something out of nothing, like Hernandez used to do.

We played with two strikers in that era, however agree it's shambolic we don't have a proper Sesko backup

Yeah that's exactly what we need and surely someone on a loan deal can't be that hard to sort. Club is so deluded in thinking those players can play as a striker when they all lack the key elements needed.
 
I wouldn't mind Richarlison at all. For all of Sesko's qualities, he lacks that fire and hunger, and the energy that Richarlison provides. I think with our players, Richarlison could be a better fit right now than Sesko, even if I would definitely prefer Sesko long term.

I really do read some weird stuff on here at times.

He had the 2nd best non-penalty goals per 90 last season, behind only Haaland. To concude from that that he can't play in the PL is absurd.

Richarlison is 29, Welbeck is about to turn 36. Richarlison is also better. I don't think that's a lot for a solid PL striker.

Not seen a lot of him, but i like Igor Matanović. 6ft 4. Good hold up play and an areal presence. Scored a very nice long range goal today and setup another with a beautiful piece of skill.

I have always liked his commitment, however academic now anyway as going back to Everton. I heard that Matanovic had a heavy touch but clearly not true then.
