You would have said the same about Haaland, Mane.... Some United fans are too arrogant. Nobody is good enough for United, they always want the best players available, not realizing they do not want to play for United anymore, because United is more than one step behind the big teams. United has to find real young talent again and sign it. Not wait and overpay for hyped players.
You’re completely missing my point.
We don’t have room for another youngster, our attack is too much made up from wonderkids and promises as it is.
We just had a thread made by a poster on here saying that playing two such inconsistant players as Rashford and Martial is a problem for us. Apart from Bruno, that’s our two most established and reliable attackers! On top of that we’ve got Greenwood, Pellistri and Diallo to come into the squad.
If we go back in for an attacker anytime soon, which probably will only happen in the case we sell Pogba, it won’t be for another kid who’s only played in austria. It’ll be for someone established such as a Sancho or Grealish.

UK, hun?
How can a defender who played 90% of games, had one of the best defensive records last season is considered a flop?

He needs to get his brain scanned.
Not to generalise (continues to make a massive generalisation) but Arsenal fans do seem a bit more defensive on the whole than other fanbases. They've obviously won a few FA Cups, but when you remember that they haven't been competitive in either the PL race or in the CL in over a decade you wonder if that preservative/antagonistic mindset hasn't been internalised.

But why it's not as if player doesn't have a say where he moves .
Leipzig would be a pretty good move for him at this stage anyway. Good team, young progressive manager, a couple of familiar faces from the national team - and of course he already speaks German.

Strikes the ball a la Ronaldo, would be another free kick specialist
Can see him being very marketable too, perfect for Woodward

Oh I agree that was my point exactly if he moves to Leipzig it's his own decision it's not as if he would be forced to move there against his wishes ,considering his age and experience it's actually pretty good option .

I would take him in a heartbeat, there's no such thing as having too many promising youngsters. All big clubs do, we have to take into account that the probability of those youngsters to actually make it big is low, so have as many as possible loan them out and keep the best ones. I think the only real promising we have is Greenwood, for all we know all the other ones could either make it big or end up not even being Premier League quality.

See Madrid, they had Hakimi, Reguilon, Lunin, Odegaard, Ceballos, Brahim Diaz, Kubo, Reinier. Thats potential.

I've not seen much of him but the sounds of him he seems like a direct competition for the positions Grealish would play in.

LAM, LM, CAM and CM.

He would be cheaper but I wonder who people would prefer because I doubt we can fit both.

That pronunciation surprises me. I know about Hungarian phonology and thought it would be (using English orthography) Sobossloy but it sounds more like -lie. It is is -lai and not -lái right?
Lai. You have to pronounce it like that: Szo-bosz-lai. Its the same as you write it down.

He's a left winger so can't see how we could operate with him in the team. Nice footballer though
Not a classic winger by any means, much more of an attacking midfielder. He played mostly as a cm yesterday and looked comfortable there as well, even if he wasn´t at his best. Fantastic at set pieces and great shooting ability so he will often affect games even when he is not at his best.
Will be interesting to see if he can develop even further in a stronger league. Guessing he will move somewhere next year.

It's definitely -lai, yes. Doesn't sound like "lie" at all to me. Listen to the commentator here, he says his name a few times:

Video doesn't work for me.

Maybe my non-native ears are playing tricks on me but the final syllable in your link really sounds like the English word 'lie' to me.

But I found this one: https://forvo.com/word/szoboszlai/ Here it's much clearer for me and I can hear the dark 'a'.

Yeah, UEFA apparently removed it on copyright grounds... sigh.

That one works, too, he just says it so impossibly slowly that it sounds a bit ridiculous. Here's another video of the goal last night, hopefully this will stay up long enough:

This is what it sounds like in normal speech. Well if we can call the excited shouting normal but you know what I mean.

Daka is not United material. He is fast, but his first touch is not good enough and he offers you speed, so he needs space. Would be a good signing for a counter attacking team.
So he’d be good for United then :D

Szoboszlai should be our Grealish alternative if we’re still pursuing that endeavour. Buy him for a third of the Grealish price and laugh about it in a few years hopefully.

Scored a good goal last night but was poor in this match in my opinion, Icelanders players were gashed from 60 min! With a little bit of luck we would have won!

Little debate about whether he's good enough @Resch (at least from my point of view) but at this point we might as well sign Grealish too and rename the club Left Half Space United.

He is good enough but we already have Bruno and Rashy for those positions. Maybe can fit if we play 4-3-3.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about fit. We need a top wide player, but if it's an LW that's probably fine. This seems okay:

---------------Rashford-------Greenwood
Szoboszlai-----------------------------------------
--------------Bruno------VDB------------------------
-----------------------DM--------------------------------

if we assume Pogba is gone. If not have him, VDB and Bruno rotate, that's still like 40+ starts for Bruno, 30 for one and 25 for the other. 3 for 2 spots is fine basically. Your other big minute guys are Martial, Diallo, Fred and McTominay. Doesn't look unbalanced to me. And if Diallo is a prodigy you can always sell Martial and let Greenwood and Rashford play at the 9 with Rashford getting minutes out left too. Point is, we've got versatility a bit up front what we need is a proper feck off quality wide player, either side. And a DM and at least one CB and an offensively inclined RB option of course.

I definitely have this boy on my scouting notebook. Nothing to hide. Scoring a important goal in a important match. He might can handle the pressure and a big game player. His name is so difficult. So i have already his name Szobos.

His precise right foot. Special freekick. Might be up there with Bruno. So if he come. Bruno shall let the boy try sometime. Even he is new coming.

Lately i most impress by Ward Prowse free kick. Might be the best and top level with freekick. But this boy is high up there too.

Overall. Lightweight and really good with the ball on his feets. Good football vision and understanding.
Most of the time he precise with the few and quick touches football. Beside the ability to pass and beat players by making run.

Not a clearly and typical LW. But so far. I will put him there or as a LCM in a 3 men midfield.

Definitely one to keep close eyes on. One to watch out.

I update him from one to keep close eyes on to...
Category : Run to buy, before others clubs get him. This boy is the real deal. I think he will move to another big club in January.

Ighalo contract will end in January. And United don’t need to extend Cavani for another year. If i am United manager i would buy this boy to play him as LW and move Rashford back as a CF option. This boy has better one on one skill than Rashford as LW. It mean he will strength United LW starting XI.

Give and offer Red Bull Salzburg a good deal they will hard to say no and will be satisfy. To the deal as soon as better. Then he might be ready to play 2 January. Not 2 February. Then you have missed many matches in a month period.

Line him up :

Mc Tom - Fred + Greenwood - Bruno/DVB - Szobos + Rashford/Martial

There you have in a 4231 formation

No need for Ighalo and Cavani here. Not because they are not good enough. But because playing as United CF and have the service of Greenwood, Bruno and Szobos you will score many goals. Top service and support....on a top a regular basis level.

This boy has everything as LW and attacking player.

It's really hard to follow all your scouting reports in the individual threads.

Could you perhaps make a "luckyscout78 scouting reports" post in the football forum for us to follow? That way you can update us on all your players.
