Just seen some of the transcripts for the Lev Parnas interview with Maddow. Holy shit he’s a fecking hand grenade!

First hand witness that has implicated everyone you could possibly imagine as being involved and having full knowledge of the entire operation. No wonder the Republicans have been fighting this so hard and refusing to sell Trump out, the entire party is implicated.
Absolutely agree. And implicated in what exactly? Some facts.
While Yovanovitch was in her post in Ukraine and Trump was asked about he he said "she was going to go through some things"
The message "they are willing to help and want a price“
The message “you can do anything in Ukraine with cash“
Yovanovitch was being tracked & probably surveilled.
WTF?
Trump is a mobster and a pretty stupid one at that.

Also, this is seriously damning and could have major implications on the Trump - Giuliani / Client - Attorney relationship in any legal context.

Ukraine taking threat against a US ambassador more seriously than the US.

That *should* be one of the nails in the coffin but we all know it won't be.
What are laws really, other than a liberal plot to stop white men doing their God given power to do anything they want?

Republicans will really have to go on the defensive now. More pressure on McConnell.

Probably not but it really should and it would if the supposedly impartial press treated the revelations with the gravity they deserve. CNN, NY Times and even WaPo who hate Trump are merely reporting what Parnas has said, none of them are making any effort to join the dots and discuss just how deep into the GOP this now appears to go. They're reporting McConnell's decision to block evidence in the Senate trial as partisan politics to protect a Republican President when really they should be exposing just how many of the Republican party are implicated as bad actors in what Trump has been impeached for and explaining to the public that the reason why McConnell is refusing to act impartially is because it will be an absolute disaster for himself, Trump, Pence, Pompeo, Mulvaney, Mnunchin, Nunes, Jordan, Barr, Bolton, McCarthy... the list goes on.

They're definitely not going to let any of this come into the Senate Trial because it's going to be broadcast around the world and in any sane democracy it would end up with a dozen or so recusing let alone resigning.

Maddow is the only one to ever seems to join the dots but she gets dismissed cos people don't like the way she speaks or something.

So is it safe to say when Trump came out with all this Biden Ukraine nonsense, it was cos he knew exactly what was coming so tried to get ahead of it with a story of his own?

Not exactly. Trump and his co-conspirators (Giuliani, Barr, Nunes, Pompeo, Mnunchin ect ect) have essentially been fabricating this Biden nonsense since last November, maybe earlier. Around June they started working on putting the plan into action and pressuring Zelensky and his associates to announce that they were opening an investigation into Hunter and Joe Biden for corruption surrounding Hunter's appointment and work within Burisma.

It all went tits up because Trump tried to hold up aid allocated by congress as a tactic to pressure Zelensky into announcing this investigation. Zelensky clearly wasn't happy with this hence why he held back as long as possible until eventually Congress caught wind of it along with the media via a whistleblower and were about to start questioning what Trump's reasons for holding the aid were so Trump released most of the funds presumably so he can have plausible denial. The problem then was that everything was in motion and more and more has come to light. The entire thing was a mafia style racket which included illegal surveillance of a US ambassador and the suggestion that she could be the subject of something quite nasty to get rid of her as she was a serious obstacle to the entire plan as she's sharp as a knife and straight as an arrow.

Knowing these clowns, they were probably trying to get her house TP'ed.

What I don't get is, I think Trump would beat Biden in a race fair and square. So why go through all the trouble of these dirty tricks?

Because he’s a narcissist terrified of losing and he’s cheated his entire life and it’s generally worked for him. It’s what he does.

Also elections never truly are a foregone conclusion and with all the dirt on Trump that has to be out there it couldn't hurt to have some insurance.

Good point about the dirt on Trump. I wonder if anyone is holding on to anything for this election.

He's either advised by people with a better understanding of the electoral map, or he's so vain and insecure that he's terrified of losing the popular vote again.

Or both.

Trump is the only man in the history of the World that manage to bankrupt a casino he owned, so I guess since then he doesn’t like taking any chances what so ever.

The Justice Department is reportedly investigating a years-old leak of classified information about a Russian intelligence document, the New York Times reports, focusing on whether former FBI director James Comey was involved:
The case is the second time the Justice Department has investigated leaks potentially involving Mr. Comey, a frequent target of President Trump, who has repeatedly called him a “leaker.” Mr. Trump recently suggested without evidence that Mr. Comey should be prosecuted for “unlawful conduct” and spend years in prison.
The timing of the investigation could raise questions about whether it was motivated at least in part by politics. Prosecutors and F.B.I. agents typically investigate leaks of classified information around the time they appear in the news media, not years later. And the inquiry is the latest politically sensitive matter undertaken by the United States attorney’s office in Washington, which is also conducting an investigation of Mr. Comey’s former deputy, Andrew G. McCabe, that has been plagued by problems.

There was a piece published a while back about his golfing habits: he's apparently a fairly competent golfer - but nevertheless cheats shamelessly every chance he gets.

A lifetime of getting things his way, thinking that rules don't apply him to him - and there you have it: it's default behaviour, completely ingrained by now.

And yet we have elected a prime minister with similar traits in the country.

I actually know somebody who played golf with Trump years ago well before he even became a candidate or anything.

After being called out on blatant cheating his apparent response was “I cheat in business, I cheat on my wife, why wouldn’t I cheat at golf?”.

To be honest, if I was present I would have chuckled at that reply.

Kinda funny that Ken Starr is also one of the ones who kept calling what Trump did illegal and impeachable until the checks started coming in I guess.
Would be hilarious if the Democrat impeachment team get all those quotes submitted to the record.
