Hope, We Lose
You can't compare VD Beek and Ziyech, so i don't understand the discussion at all. Two totally different players, except for the fact they both can play on 10.

If you want a hardworking passmaster with a lot of risk in his way of playing for the 10 position or as a false winger. Buy Ziyech.
If you want a 6, 8 or 10. Supersmart box to box midfielder. Buy VD Beek.
He's the last player I'd want for a 6. His talent is forward runs not holding position or winning the ball

ESPN sources says we are looking for him now, since Ajax failed to qualify for CL knock-out stages.

Ajax apparently values him at £50 million.

Guess it is because Maddison and Graelish is out of reach.

EDIT: Beat me to it :)

Good player, can't see him costing 50m though.

A Alien invasion.
ESPN are a terrible source.
Yep.
They have Delaney and Ogden on their books.
Just another bunch of BS clickbait journos.

I like what I've seen of him. Seems to fit the mould of what Ole wants in a no.10

But it's ESPN. :(

It makes a lot of sense. Ajax not in the CL anymore and he plays as No. 10 or box to box.

But is Van de Beek creative enough offensively to open teams up in the PL? He certainly has time on his side to develop.

I wouldn't say no.

I would like to see us getting him in. Although not sure he is a pure number 10. Ideally we would change our formation to play without a number 10 with him.

Get him and Soumare now.

Get Grealish in the Summer.

Midfield sorted.

P.S. None of this will happen.

Amen to that! Ziyech has to be a target surely
Maybe out of sheer panic, but we weren't interested in the summer, so would be surprised if we are now...

Certainly levels about the likes of Emre Can, Cheese Longstaff and Kalvin Philipps.

He has end product. Jesse Lingard plays regularly for us and has none whilst Pereira is not much better in that regard.

Yep. The impression seems to be he is a central midfielder with a penchant of roaming into the final third to score and assist. He has 6 goals and 4 assists in 16 games this season, and had 9 goals and 10 the year before. Stats alone, I’d liken him to Aaron Ramsey (when he was still quite good).

The Ziyech cries are fair but not comparable - Ziyech is a creative midfielder who plays out on the right. Kind of like Mata when he was still good. Van De Beek is a central midfielder first and foremost, and we desperately need something in there.

He's an interesting one. I was surprised Ajax was able to keep him last summer. Was it a case of no serious interest or Ajax not wanting to sell anymore after De Ligt and De Jong?

I say get Van de Beek now and don't wait for our lives to be over.
