And so begins the new era under our Portuguese Messiah...okay I'm trying not to get too carried away!

Nik(@Rood) and Jamie(@Vault Dweller) are here to dissect United's 1-1 draw away at Ipswich in Reuben Amorim's first game in charge of Manchester United. What did we all make of it?

Interesting point that bothers me for a while is how are we going to progress /move the ball forward. This was discussed during the podcast as Amorim was waving frustrated to get the ball forward. But, how exactly are we going to do it?

Eriksen can't pull this off when marked tightly, same with Casemiro plus he was having a mare. Dalot was doing alright and broke free a couple of times but what next? Garnacho loves running with the ball into trouble and doesn't suit any role in the system anyway.
Rashford and his back to goal play? Forget about it. He had like 13 touches all game?

Even Bruno isn't a natural progressor of the ball. He is effective around the box but again, how are we going to get the ball to him? My worry is having 3 at the back is making things even worse as we don't have a CB that will carry the ball though the lines. Unless... Shaw stays fit. By the way I think for this reason we might be seeing Mazraoui more as RCB.

In midfield though, without Mainoo I think this will be difficult. Possibly Mount dropping back could've worked as well, but yeah, both him and Shaw I wouldn't bet on.

Still early days and will take time for Amorim to find his best XI

He's giving everyone a shot and already we see him trying completely different CM partnerships and different WBs - we have not yet seen Mainoo who was probably our best player last year, he'll be important for ball progression

But already we see how the wingbacks hug the touchlines and Amorim wants the ball out there as much as possible to push forward in wide areas

Mazraoui looks very comfortable on the RCB role but I'd like to see him at wingback once we get a couple of CBs back from injury
