Eberechi Eze | Arsenal sign him

Wasted on these.

Here you go:

I know you did a point score gesture when you hit post on this one!
Quite possibly. Unfortunately, I've no idea what that is and Google hasn't helped!

Arsenal would surely be in for him if he becomes available. Martinelli stagnated and he is similar profile (and better) than Trossard who may be leaving in next 12 months.

Eze at the level now where he needs to be playing in CL and most of them would be in for him.

He's certainly available. Palace will be looking at Wharton Mateta eze and guehi going out the door over the next two seasons.

He’s someone Sir Alex might’ve picked up when he was still at QPR. I do wonder why he hasn’t made that next step yet.

Don’t think he will wonder though. Forever a Palace legend and can leave now with best wishes.

Two years left so he'll certainly leave Palace next summer. Been there since 2020 so just a question whether he fancies playing for them in Europe first before leaving.

Also World Cup year and I reckon he starts for England in the tournament as it stands so would be a problem if he goes to new system where he has to adapt and loses a bit of productivity.

My Palace supporting mate who’s a season ticket holder said he wouldn’t be bothered if Eze left as he’s a moments player and doesn’t get involved enough.

Great player, but I'd prefer Mbuemo with Cunha already in. Those two fit Amorims system perfectly on the face of it. Eze would have been a Cunha alternative in my mind.

A lovely footballer, but not sure we have the money or the room for him in a reduced squad playing just domestic games next season. Would've been a great addition if we'd got CL football though meaning we would have more games and a bigger squad needed.

He's progressed from that. Last three FA Cup games they played were 0-0 before he stepped up so he's now becoming decisive in big matches for them rather than just being a lovely ball carrier to watch when they're on the counter.

Didn’t want to start a new thread but Spurs eyeing him for £68 million (release cause) apparently.

The Cunha and Mbeumo prices seem fair.

Covering Martinelli and Odegaard alternatives in one go would be a great coup.
60/65M release clause or a bit more if we can negotiate installments like Zubimendi.

Feel like he'd start ahead of Martinelli, surely?

Maybe, it would give us options at least. But Martinelli would still get a lot of minutes against "good" teams for his defensive work rate.

What's the deal with Martinelli? He looked a serious prospect a couple of years ago. Whereas now he's still very good at times, but it feels to me like he's not got anwhere near fulfilling the promise he initially showed.

Injuries perhaps?

He had a few injuries and lost Xhaka who did a lot of work for him on the left. His finishing has not been great but he still contributes and is a better option than Trossard generally. Sometimes Trossard will just go on a run and score in every game for a month and you start doubting Martinelli's place. But it doesn't last long enough so they just battle it out over the season.
Thought I read his release clause was £68m? Might be mistaken.
I don't know i've seen 60/65/68. I don't think it matters that much since we won't be able to activate it in one go once we buy our striker. Palace has to be willing to negotiate.

His release clause is not like the Spanish style full sum up front clauses, it can be paid in installments

His release clause can apparently be paid in 3 installments. I'm not sure if it's £60M + £8M add ons or a pure £68M release clause

Are they selling any players? Based on the PSR chart released by the athletic, they were in worse situation than us, no? Their fanbase seem to think they are going to buy Sesko, Rodrygo, Eze etc etc. on top of players they already bought.

The chart was to do with the wiggle room for 24/25 breach was it not? From tomorrow that's a different financial year altogether.

Eze on the left and Saka on the right looks brilliant on paper yet the biggest problem is who are they crossing it too. No proper striker in there.

Would be a quality signing for Arsenal, but if they sign him and no striker, i will be subscribing to AFTV to hear the complaints.

We'll sign a striker, it's just a matter of which one.
