Better than Jamie Jackson that’s for sure. The Crook and Jacobs tag team are usually spot on with their info
Nope. But a decent all-around midfielder who at the very least would be useful in the squad at that price. Is he a high quality passer?
I think Ederson would rotate with Mainoo as box-to-box, and we spend the big money on a Casemiro replacement.Assuming (as has been reported) we are looking to sign two CMs, how well would Ederson pair with Mainoo and/or the other CMs we've been linked to?
He was very highly rated a few years ago. Has he dropped off a lot? The price seems quite fair if he is still playing to a good level.not sure I like the idea of dropping 40 mil of our transfer kitty on a squad player if thats his standard. Lets get the big guns then use what we have left
Because they are credible source of information fed directly from the Club they tend not to indulge in speculation or do agents bidding which most likely is the case here .Better than Jamie Jackson that’s for sure.
Wonder why Laurie Whitwell never mentioned (either on his Athletic piece or the latest Talk of the devils podcast).
Typical United signing then - decent and usefulNope. But a decent all-around midfielder who at the very least would be useful in the squad at that price.
We are not signing him I pretty much doubt he is on our radar currently .Just looking back in this thread at the general opinion on him, stats and compilations.. I dunno, feels like we could be aiming higher?
I think we need someone who is excellent defensively and has excellent long range passing from deep and can ideally carry the ball.
If we just sign a lad like this who appears to be an alright all-rounder that doesn't necessarily tick any of those boxes, then I don't know how we can comprehensively rebuild our midfield with two signings.
It seems like a signing we'd do a couple years ago because it made some sense and the deal was doable so sure why not.
Typical United signing then - decent and useful
Prerequisite for the job...and not a great passer.
Yep. Just put it all on Bruno. We'll be fine..Prerequisite for the job.
Exactly. Our ideal CM..and not a great passer.

Direct Ugarte replacement
Quality. In what way? Squad role or playstyle?
Quality.
Not sure about this, Case has been class but we’ve been ran through in midfield. No mobility whatsoeverIf this is our Casemiro replacement then next season will be a slog. I genuinely don't see us signing a better player than this season's Casemiro actually, it would be better to try and convince him to stay rather than sign someone like Ederson or Baleba.
smell my fingerWhat does sniffing around mean
So that's not a direct replacement then. In terms of playstyle, he's nothing like Ugarte.
Only our fans don’t realise than 40 million is the price that any club has to pay for any premier league level starting midfielder pretty much as a minimum nowadaysHe was very highly rated a few years ago. Has he dropped off a lot? The price seems quite fair if he is still playing to a good level.
So we are looking at midfielders who are all workhorses first and foremost. Tonali, Tchouameni and now this guy. Not exactly known for their passing game.
Not sure if that's a good idea considering Mainoo isn't exactly a playmaker either.
Agreed. Athletico haven't agreed terms on the deal and Utds name gets dropped into the conversation. Hmm...Because they are credible source of information fed directly from the Club they tend not to indulge in speculation or do agents bidding which most likely is the case here .
