i'd rather spend 110m quid on Matheus and Scott than 110m quid on Anderson
Yeah actually so would I given the choicei'd rather spend 110m quid on Matheus and Scott than 110m quid on Anderson
given our clear need to upgrade our CM's.....those 2 guys will give you every bit the production that you'd get from anderson but now you're adding depth as wellYeah actually so would I given the choice
Who would be your third midfielder?given our clear need to upgrade our CM's.....those 2 guys will give you every bit the production that you'd get from anderson but now you're adding depth as well
Baleba? M Fernandes, Scott and Baleba would be a good CM mixture. Different skillset and I think they could play alongside each other and Mainoo.Who would be your third midfielder?
I would say around the £170m markBaleba? M Fernandes, Scott and Baleba would be a good CM mixture. Different skillset and I think they could play alongside each other and Mainoo.
Unfortunately those three would probably cost £200mil as a trio
if i got scott and fernandes....both very good but massive runners in terms of ground coverageWho would be your third midfielder?
I’m not saying Bellingham wasn’t very good pre Real, I’m saying his achievements and performances weren’t any more credible than Anderson’s…. Maybe there’s an argument for character in that he has the confidence to move to Germany but so did Sancho.. You could argue he looked like a big game player for England but equally Anderson’s stats have been insane this season and he’s taking Forest through Europe, very Rice-esque in that regardBellingham at Dortmund was one of the best midfielders in Germany and Europe. His performances were oustanding both in the Bundesliga and champions league. He'd easily done enough to justify his price tag. In fact, Madrid thought they done really well by getting him for under 100m. All the top clubs wanted him with Real and City pushing the hardest.
You can push Anderson as much as you want but to put down Bellingham's performances is laughable. Does Real chase after Anderson at any point in his career? I'd put money down, they would not. Either way, I'm not saying he isn't a good player, I just think he's not a great player or worth the value that Forest want for him. Rice, Bellingham; those are midfielders that would grace any top club in Europe. I don't think Anderson is the same.
Could still do with a Scott/Stiller to provide the passingI’m not saying Bellingham wasn’t very good pre Real, I’m saying his achievements and performances weren’t any more credible than Anderson’s…. I recall more than half the caf saying Rice wouldn’t be worth 100+ and now I’m hearing it again.. I’m not pushing Anderson I’m just pattern matching
If anything, my preference, if at all possible, would be to pickup Tchou and Baleba (bkup) to build around Kobbie.
This echos my feelings on Anderson. If he is comparable to Rice, we should break the bank for him. I am not sure he is comparable to Rice.

Yeah really hope we are interested in Gibbs-White as a potential Bruno replacement when time comes. My only concern with that partnership is does it lack the progressive passing ability we needOk fair enough. I can get the comparison to the Rice situation but not quite the same. Anderson is a key cog in a good Forest team but I would say Morgan Gibbs-White is more instrumental for them. Rice drove West Ham to that conference title.
I think we are aligned when it comes to preferences on who to build around Kobbie. When you factor in price, you can potentially get Tchou and Baleba for 10-20m more than what Forest are asking for Anderson; that also changes things. If Anderson were a 70-80m, I think the conversation would be different.
So what if he only wants to join City?I disagree, Anderson is the only player we've been linked to that can bring elite passing to the team. Without that we will be stuck exactly where we are.
Then we need to find someone that can actually pass the ball to a high level. Otherwise we'd just be a chicken head team.So what if he only wants to join City?
Yeah the trouble is that player is probably Wharton who the club see as too similar to MainooThen we need to find someone that can actually pass the ball to a high level. Otherwise we'd just be a chicken head team.
I'd say he's better. He has much more to his game on the ball whilst not being too far off Rice physically. This echos my feelings on Anderson. If he is comparable to Rice, we should break the bank for him. I am not sure he is comparable to Rice.
all these guys can pass the ball given the level in which they play.....percentages can be very misleading dependent upon the risk of the passes versus just being a connectorThen we need to find someone that can actually pass the ball to a high level. Otherwise we'd just be a chicken head team.
Can you play midfield?I’d rather spend it on myself
Maybe so but we aren't spending £100m on himI'd say he's better. He has much more to his game on the ball whilst not being too far off Rice physically.
If both were available for 100m right now I'd want Anderson.
Because players know they won't get punished as City has the kind of money which screams not talksWhy would any top player want to go to City with the threat of relegation hanging over there heads?
Because there is no spoon. Why would any top player want to go to City with the threat of relegation hanging over there heads?
Getting paid twice as much as anywhere else, getting paid their official wages and then more from "unrelated" sponsors. Look at Haaland on almost 900k a week. Why would any top player want to go to City with the threat of relegation hanging over there heads?
the only threat to relegation for City is on this forum...no one else is deluded enough to believe this is a possibility. Why would any top player want to go to City with the threat of relegation hanging over there heads?
none of them can pass to the level we need, not even close and it is also a weakness of Kobbie. So they need to be extremely good.all these guys can pass the ball given the level in which they play.....percentages can be very misleading dependent upon the risk of the passes versus just being a connector
Who would you put in that extremely good category in terms of passing just out of interest?the only threat to relegation for City is on this forum...no one else is deluded enough to believe this is a possibility.

Clearly the guy.
I’d rather spend it on myself
Clearly the guy.
A new hair line, a moob reduction and maybe a cheap ball playing DM. And by DM I mean Dominatrix. And by ball playing I mean….What's the first three things you'd buy?
Feck it, I’d give it a go for a solid minute or two!! Story of my life really. Can you play midfield?
Would pick different players but certsinly share sentiment. Andersons had one good season, obviously ticks lots of boxes and is a good player...but is he being a tad overhyped? Bellingham and Rice for example were overpriced but could understand fees...both real quality players...i rate anderson but not in bracket like them...way overpriced. Personally think theres other players though without such a wide skillset...are better partners for mainoo and better than anderson in important aspects we need.....if we sign a couple of the right ones...i actually would be happy losing out on him.i'd rather spend 110m quid on Matheus and Scott than 110m quid on Anderson
I dont see him as similar but would worry about tgat pairing defensively on the break especially. Also torally disagree wirh post youre answering. Anderson is good as offers good passing...but strength, energy, stamina, positioning, legs...weve missed that for years and its often been such a problem with us getting overan....also we have an elite passer already in our youth side for cm, so we are already likely to have that as a possible option...also anderson, tonali, guimares, enzo fernandez id put amongst tge best passers for oremiership clubs...every club of ehich has struggled.Yeah the trouble is that player is probably Wharton who the club see as too similar to Mainoo
He may go on to be...but newcastle let him go, his progress been steady but only excelkent this season.....rice had several seasons imoroving every year at west ham and captained them. Anderson i actually see leadership qualities in and his passing is good...does tgat justify the fee though as though good all round hes still potentially superb, rice alreasy wasI'd say he's better. He has much more to his game on the ball whilst not being too far off Rice physically.
