Elliot Anderson

I like him, seen him do well in so many games last season and deserves his England call up.

I totally expect NFFC to slap a 100m valuation on him if any of the wealthy PL club sniff around him

Given the unfolding Angegeddon in Nottingham, this season could be a great time to pick up their great youngsters who I expect will be getting pissed off very soon.

Anderson, MGW, Murillo, Aina, Sels, Milenkovic and Igor Jesus please.

What is his contract situation?

Edit: 3 more years on his contract left after this season. He won't come cheap. Forest will ask for 80m at least. Is he a 70m-80m player? I don't know.

Has a bit of everything whenever I’ve watched. Definitely potential there, albeit I mostly think he’s a Casemiro type. You still need a good defensive midfielder next to him or player similar to him, not Bruno.

With Forest dropping off so much he suddenly becomes very gettable.

The problem (as with a lot of promising players) is that we have to make a move before Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal or City get involved.

Seeing how the MGW saga unfolded this summer, I don't think how they feel matters to the dictator.

If we make a move it has to be in the winter window or before the World Cup. His value will go up even higher if it isn't high enough right now.

If we keep dropping off, we'll be looking at tier 3 players. No guarantee Anderson would choose us.

Could we possibly raid forest for Milenkovic, Anderson and Gibbs-White? :)

He will be almost impossible to get out of Forest considering Gibbs-White had a release clause and wasn't able to leave.

I have been saying for some time that he is the real deal and would love to see him here at OT. Doubt it will happen though.
We won't know anything until the manager change happens. Regardless I hope we aggressively address the central midfield situation whether it be January or summer. Baleba and Anderson would fantastic additions.

Still don't see the fuss, why do we think Newcastle let him go if he's a potentially world class midfielder or whatever you lot seem to think? Don't get me wrong, I like that he seems to have a solid all round game which seems to be increasingly rare for midfielders in modern football, but are you lot seeing something outstanding about him that I'm not?

PSR, and they have one of the best and well balance midfields already with Joelinton, Tonali and Bruno.

Did Newcastle not put a buyback clause in the deal?

Yeah they're good but surely you'd fancy him to get a lot of games and be able to replace Joelinton over time if he's so good wouldn't you?

He’s good at everything which you already agree is rare and has the ability to create from deep.

Shockingly no.

Yeah, but as I said, PSR. The game as it is now means players like Anderson for Newcastle are a sellable asset that will help them with PSR and because they had one of the best midfields it's one which they could let go.

It's stupid and crap, but that's how it is.

Every time I see him he is literally everywhere on the pitch - MGW gets a lot of the plaudits but Anderson for me is the best player in that team.

He would be my number 1 attainable choice.

Not the best links but Anderson is definitely the kind of midfielder we need as well as someone like Baleba, those two together would be a very balanced pairing.
If we're aiming to finish 10th maybe. The Baleba balloon still isn't bursting for you lot is it? Watched him this season at all? Let me guess, well worth a £100m right? Should we chuck another £100m at Anderson and then collectively scratch our heads as to why our midfield is still shite?

It was a dodgy PSR deal with Forests keeper going the other way.

At Newcastle he wasn’t getting game time either due to them having Joelinton & Guimares

Shockingly no.

Surprises me. Joelinton coming up to 30 and with the physical side of his game he might decline a bit in next year or two. Tonali will probably want to return to Italy soon.

Anderson is a very good player so of course would improve Man. United but Forest will put up a huge fight with what we saw with MGW this summer.

Why did city sell Cole Palmer, etc.

Its mental that this is so rare for a midfielder these days but this is where we're at. Thats what I like so much about him, that he can do a bit of everything, not like these specialists that offer nothing either on the ball or off it

MGW is probably one of the last positions of the team we need to fill. We also could have signed Milenkovic at numerous points in the last few years. I struggle to see what he offers that De Ligt doesn’t if you swap their teams at this point.

An ideal player to target. Newcastle are truly hard done by being forced to sell him

Were they really forced to sell that particular player? Did they suspect he'd turn out this good? Seems more like a Cole Palmer situation, they sold him for decent money when they were maybe expecting him to turn out a decent player, but he turned out way way better than that so the deal looks terrible in hindsight.

As for the links, it's Mick Brown an ex scout saying he's on United's radar and the Mirror picking up the story with the bigger outlets relaying it from there. Pretty tentative.

Agree. PSR is shite but they definitely missed a trick in that deal. Very shortsighted indeed.

And yes as I said above I think it will be hell prying him away from Marinakis this summer.

Very true, and I thought at the time we were linked with Milenkovic for what was then a pittance, we should have signed him.

MGW is yet another 10, which we obviously don’t need. But if Bruno is to move on, and mount can’t stay fit, I do think he comes into the thinking.

They were. He and Minteh had to be sold to ease PSR pressure. Thanks to being counted as home grown. I recall Howe saying as much in an interview the summer before last season.

At the time I wondered why he seemed a bit bitter and sore at losing those talents in the interview. By mid season I understood.

Pretty much, they didn't really have any other sellable assets that was home grown.
