Am not so sure. He nets with the Aussie fast bowlers all the time, so I imagine he’ll be very comfortable.
We've no idea how often they get him out though do we. He's certainly too good for the medium-pace attack we've got here, but we knew that already.

Australia getting very close to a par score, having been 122-8.

England conceded a huge advantage, albeit massively hindered by the loss of Anderson.

Very good recovery from the Aussies.

Smith is brilliant in these situations. Just goes about his batting whatever the situation.

He's a cheat. Should never have played again.

Very good though :(

Smith is brilliant, shame about the clowns around him.

Eh? Nobody will sort him out. He's a ridiculous batsman.
We'll see won't we. The ball should keep moving around throughout the series and Archer's about 10kph faster than any other English bowler. Will be a good contest.

Let's not take anything away from Smith though, great innings.

The way they were talking earlier, Anderson might be out for the whole series. If so, might be his last game in an England shirt as he's just turned 37.

Like watching the first test vs India, got into a fantastic position only for Kohli to get them out of trouble, now Smith is doing it today

Can't believe they've got to this position from 122-8.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an England series where they haven’t let the tail always put on big partnerships. Great stuff from Smith but England were trying too many things and not sticking to the basics with him.

One of Starc/Hazlewood should be playing. Bit workman-like attack with Siddle and Cummins.

Steven Smith cribbing to himself while batting is one of my favourite things in cricket.

Smith's obscene.

Rest of their batting looks shite.

The pitch isn't a minefield, it's there for a big score. Bat for most of the next 2 days and we're on track.

Trying to be positive

Even you know that we are more likely to not bat for 2 sessions rather than 2 days

Bravo Steve Smith, can't ask for any more from one batsman in such trying situations. That has to be one of the great Ashes knocks.

And also bravo to Siddle. I admit that I couldn't believe that he was picked in the side, but at least he showed some ticker.
