Most people from England don't watch the IPL and this series has not been a selling point for the IPL. They are obviously all good players but as someone who actually watches IPL I am stunned by how badly the batters have failed. These have hardly been tough conditions to bat as well, just a little bit of extra bounce in the pitches.

Abishek has looked unconvincing for a long while now. Samson, feast or famine that he is, is a superior batter. I am shocked by the treatment he’s received - not seen an Indian player worse managed. Some better technical batters need to be brought in to shore up the team. I am not sure who they are - Patidar and Padikkal may well suffer from the same issue.
If 160 is par, Ruturaj is a good option. Varma needs to go to the top order and Dube needs to be reassessed.
You can say India have been poor but Tongue and Archer have also been excellent and set the tone in the powerplay.

Just caught England's women singing the national anthem at Lords with huge smiles on their faces. Really cool they are finally getting to play test cricket there.
Makes it even more frustrating in a way. After a tough couple of years there's no doubt that this team has turned around under Brook, 19 wins from 22 since he took over, he's captained very well and they look a really strong outfit. And I think having McCullum as coach suits T20 also.
That might all have to be binned because of everything going on with the Test side.

Just the body language & fielding were very very poor. If you watched the 2011 test tour to England it was very similar to that where half way through the tour it seemed like this team had given up. It's kind of strange because England have done this a lot in India & Australia but I am not used to Indian teams being so bad in a series.

My prediction is they will sack him as Test coach, but keep him as white ball coach, which would presumably reduce the compensation cost - but then Baz would feel undermined and would voluntarily resign from the white ball teams.
