I've had a good look around twitter and yeah a good amount of our idiotic 'fans' are already writing him off. The man hasn't even taken a training session yet.
 what

probably Goldbridge fans no doubt

The fact he wouldn’t meet Ragnick face to face rubs me the wrong way. It is decisive by Ten Hag, which is good, but to me also a little stubborn? Unless he thought Ragnicks POV was so diluted and off it would be harmful.

I wouldn’t take the article as gospel

I imagine it’s more likely that he didn’t specifically require an ongoing consultant and was happy for a handover and then to work with his assistants going forward

For some reason our fans rate managers who protects themselves by throwing everyone under bus than manager who might be interested to coach the team and get the best out of them.

RR showed how shit he is at coaching the team.
100%

All ETH would have had to do was watch our matches last season, rightfully concluded that Ralf was tactically inept, and said no thanks to any involvement from Ralf. Makes me like Ten Hag more!

Just wondering. Are ETH teams usually muscular and bulky or does he want them mobile. Looking at all the pictures coming out he is inheriting a team of Incredible Hulks.

I’m not liking the vibes with this guy at all, the moment.

He sounds like more of a puppet than Ole did, at the moment.

“The existing squad had loads of potential
“This squad finished 2nd, the season before last”

RR clearly identified how poor our current group is, but instead of backing him and his upstairs role, he threw him under the bus, alongside the board.

Not looking good!

Why would ETH want to be seen to be endorsing Ralf when he had done so poorly with the team and didn’t have the respect of any of the players?

Rightly or wrongly - he would want it to appear to be a clean slate for the players and fans and who, in any career move, wants to be associated with the previous managers poor showing?

We were undergoing a process which began with Ralf and should have carried onto the next season. The players didn't get along with ralf because of his coaches that were not his first choice, and because he called them out for what they are. A clean slate with these bunch does not make sense as this is almost their 3rd or 4th clean slate.

ETH should have gotten a formal handover from Ralf at least, but ETH and the club didn't allow Ralf this. ETH definitely has the attitude but let's see how he does.

No match yet but I'm already staring to feel sorry for Erik and the huge task on his hands. His choice of course to leave a well ran Ajax for the mess that United continue to be.

I can't recall a season i had lower expectations for perhaps no bad thing?

It would actually be unfortunate if we can't do it before preseason because this was stated as why he resumed work early. Guy could have been partying it up after winning the Dutch league.

What exactly would be gained by meeting Ralf? His entire assessment of things was “everyone and everything is shite.”

What annoyed me most was that we already knew that our squad was problematic in a way. RR basically could not coach the team (mayb because he was too rigid in handling them or the quality of his coaching was poor) but spent every press conference throwing everyone under the bus and trying to claim Liverpool's success was down to a blueprint he kind of pioneered. Then blatantly lieing about telling the clubs to buy players after the Greenwood debacle when some of those players had agreed deals with other clubs beforehand.

I honestly do not blame ETH if he was reluctant to work with RR. At Ajax everything was done harmoniously and everybody was always in the same direction.

Blimey the amount of conjecture based on absolutely nothing/click bait articles is fecking mind blowing

In this thread alone, we can already write a full blown book about ETH Utd's career when he hasn't even taken a training session.

I would love it if we started playing like an elite-Stoke/Bolton and out battle everyone in the league. Maybe we will finally see Moyes' Everton time translated to the Utd team finally. That would be hilarious and fun to watch after all the talk of ETH's footballing philosophy. Maguire playing route one for Ronaldo knock-downs and De Jong chopping at the second balls

He must feel frustration at how slowly this transfer window has been so far, certainly not being fully backed by those yank scumbags.

Certainly won't be used to working for a club who are ran so utterly ineptitudly from top to bottom.

Tell me about it. Patience lads, you can get to see a preview of his ideas during the pre-season.

If you can't wait till then, I recommend the Steve McClaren interviews by his son Josh. It would give you a better insight.

No he doesn't strike me as a total fanny, so don't think he be thinking defeatist and in total negativity mode about transfers, especially since we haven't touched a ball yet. I'm sure he been told the plan, and strategy involving signing and how many we can buy. I'm sure he knows we need to offload some players too.

I assume he getting daily reports on progress and understands the strategy. But I've no doubt I'll prob get told opposite is happening and no one telling him anything

No he wouldn't, he should make up his own mind.
He can make up his own mind but he should still listen and prepare himself.

No doubt he will give everyone a clean slate but would be stupid not to hear RR out, even to keep on the back of his mind

I thought this guy was a no nonsense take no prisoners kinda manager? Didn't he wait to sign until he got certain things guaranteed?

Unlike us, first team managers are always in conversation with the director of football and the recruitment team. So he knows exactly what is going on. Budget, transfer dealings etc are confidential matters which can only be shared by the club's relevant staff, so ETH certainly knows more about what is happening than us and the imaginative media.

The offloading of players is the biggest worry because no one seems interested

True, not much wee can do about that, that issue from previous Regimes, also can't just write the contracts off for them as would absolutely dent the budget, so if no one is in for them let's hope Hag can get some use out of them and not totally alienate them anymore, and hopefully can be moved on again after a half decent season.

Rangnick positioned himself against the current players and the club. It wouldn’t be the best idea for ETH to cosy up to him. He’s going for a fresh start.

I hope by the next window (don't just write off Jan one Utd) that he will be looking at players outside of Ajax or played for him before.

Poor Erik. Starting in the worst possible way with the clubs ineptitude. What makes anyone think this will be any different to Jose, LVG etc?

We all have to back this guy. I think he has the perfect mentality of being nice, but also direct. He reminds me of a teacher at school.

Mr Harrison, everyone was kinda scared of him, do anything out of line and he would just stare you down. But if everyone was being good doing their work, he was a proper fecking laugh. So you had to respect him because everyone else did

@utdreport: Erik ten Hag has ordered #mufc's ground staff at Carrington to trim the grass to 15mm so that they can get used to his demands for slick passing #mulive [@MullockSMirror]

TBH our fans have been impatient this whole window. Its literally June. The club has been trying to ensure the main transfer ( FDJ) goes through before getting the other transfers. Simple enough.

The issue with this window so far and the impatience surrounding it has come from Rangnick. He convinced our fans that we would get 8, 9, 10 players and that all the ones we did have already were poor, which was never the case. Our issue is that we have been poor in key positions, which has affected our ability to allow some of our better players perform consistently due to lack of support. These will be fixed this window. The midfield will be fixed, the right back position will be fixed. We will get an additional attacker.

The annoying things for me has been that fans are acting like this doesn't occur with every single team. City, Pool, Madrid and Bayern have had transfers go into late August, its not even July and people are giving up on next season. It's really wacky stuff
