who would you play in midfield instead? Who would be an improvement?

He shouldn’t be the one signing players. Look at Spurs. The DoF signs the players to make a team so that the manager’s job is to manage the players. At Ajax he had that. At United he doesn’t.
I talked about that above. If he want to play with such midfield combo, he shouldn't play with two slow as feck defenders behind them, one of them is even midget. Ridiculous tactical setup.

Play with 3-4-3 and put on Varane alongside the other 2 for extra protection.

Martinez is a disastrous signing as a CB in the PL. The price makes it even more ridiculous. I can't believe the club allowed it.

It's like Ten Hag has never watched the PL before.

This man signed a midget, then wanted arnotovic and rabiot.

No quite excellent, he's very stubborn and wants to play a certain way. The squad isn't even mid table and needs investing. But Ten Hag is also to blame to try and play his style with this pile of garbage.
Either the board will have to spend a lot of money to let Ten Hag play his favored style or they have to get rid of him.
And it’s about time we actually back our managers to buy the players we need and remove the ones we don’t.

I’d also challenge anyone to find us a manager who can make these players competitive.

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
Arrogant enough to want no input from the previous victim of this squad? Good lad. Here's your reward. Made his own fecking bed, so better hope this magical coaching formula comes good at some point
Annoying isn't it. He could have spoke to any of us and we'd have told him who will let him down and why. I said I worry he'll be overly arrogant and stuck in his ways like LVG and it's there for us all to see.

It was a terrible, terrible signing considering the state of the rest of the team. The only we reason we could justify signing another CB was if he was planning to play 3 at the back. But he wasn't.

We needed a RB and central midfielders. We've not signed a single one of those.
An recurring theme. Every single manager ignores the CM.

Correct. It's lunacy to expect him to be in charge of recruitment.

Martínez is looking like a dud but it's the club's fault for putting ETH in the position where he's responsible for identifying transfer targets.
But he should've just kept out of it then. Knowing your own limitations is what makes someone good at their job.

Don’t understand why we see these kids in pre season doing well then they don’t get a chance. Worry whether he’s got the balls like so many before him. Following Fergie is the impossible job: we’re cursed. Long way to go though, at least he’s now fully aware of the job.

The players are terrible but he has to take responsibility. We're mentally broken, and it's his job to stop that.

Always felt he needs to play with a back 5 because we dont have the midfielders to cover our defence. No defensive cover in midfield is shocking in an away fixture

We spent £70M on players we don't need. Martinez and Malacia. That's on ETH with the revolution Eredivise signings. Just like he also wanted fecking Arnautovic.

The club were put in a position by our fan base demanding Ten Hag and he only agreed to come on the basis he had complete control. Ten Hag wasn’t the only girl at the ball.

It takes time to implement anything, but we look like LVG 2.0, passing it around and getting nervous when we lose the ball

Maybe playing on the break is best suited for us after all.
Exactly, we had the best results by playing counter attacking football, now we look really lost. Our players are not suited for possession football and we are making a fool of ourselves. Even under Ole we looked pathetic when trying to play from the back.
It's time to ditch this and implement this style slowly, over time, otherwise we risk being trashed by everybody. Get back to basics until we get some momentum.
Incredible how a manager like ETH can't see that.

The kids would actually do better than this.

Not a single team in the league will come here this season and be 0-5 down to this shit team within a first half. Imagine blaming this on McTominay and Rashford.
We have seen this lot be shite at every single opportunity in the last 10 years. At some point we have to realise it is not the managers' fault. Absolute clowns, can't believe they keep getting away with it.

He needs a squad for his style as soon as possible. It clearly won't work out if we are stuck with De Gea as our #1 not to mention the lack of quality in other areas as well.

De Boer vibes all over. The Glazers won't sell and won't spend for the team. Meaning that by the middle of September we will be looking for Poch to come and save us

It's almost like they don't realise our underlying problems. The players in our backline are underwhelming but they're often massively exposed by our midfield giving the ball away in poor positions.

It's the same for our attack, because don't move the ball forward effectively. Yet here we are just signing defenders and last season forwards.

Def massive problems with this squad but not that bad to be playing like this against BRENTFORD let me remind you. He has bought a midget CB for over 50m quid and has paired him with an absolute trashcan. He seems completely tactically inept we do absolutely nothing going forward. Many things is on him.

Cause we have some random Brazilian and a Rugby player who has a picture with SAF. I mean come on who in their right mind would buy a CM?

No matter how shit the players are, this is a massive failure by the manager as well. It's his job to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of the team and set them up to give us the best chance to win. Trying to establish a possession style with these lot is extremely delusional.

I dont know how many times I have to say this. It's going to get worse before it will get better. He is trying to coach a group of players who never had anything like that for years. Mistakes will happen, thrashing will happen and we need investment too.

It’d end badly with any manager because the board still seems to think that someone out there is capable of managing this group of players.
Tbf, our fanbase begged and backed them into spending a feck load of money assembling this squad 'backing' the last manager.

Turns out the last manager was an idiot who got us to spend money on crap. It's easy to right off 300m odd spent for the fans but not for any owner.

It’s fecking infuriating that we gave another manager a free reign when it comes to players with no DoF in sight to point out that we have enough CBs and the last thing this squad needs is a midget CB from Eredvise. Clueless on all levels.
