If you can't see that they were close wins that could have easily been draws at least I'm not going to argue. Just my opinion.
Result wise, close, in reality, we had chances to score more, so no, not close for me.

My main problem with Ten Hag is that the majority of the positive opinions around him are based around the hype rather than his actual work on the pitch.

Man United have been as shit as usual this season and any other manager would have been slaughtered but it's Ten Hag, there's so much hype around him so a lot of people don't seem to dare criticize him or point out that, really, feck all has changed so far, either from our play style or even from our results.

The results are average and the football played is mostly shit. That's the reality.

I'm not saying he already failed or should be sacked but deary me, don't pretend everything is going well when it's clearly not.

There's still a lot of work he has to do and so far the signs are simply not convincing. He'll get his chance, fully, but he has to show improvement regarding at least, at fecking least, the playstyle by the end of this year.
To be fair to him, getting a month off while we had momentum can hurt the team. The players are also not great.

'Hype' = his achievements at other clubs

Its early days against a team that is at least 6 years ahead in planning, who also are a local rival with an inferiority complex because they have no history.

It's kinda mad to me that there are people who have been watching football for decades and didn't see this coming after watching us play this season.

What's really the point at times...

If he responds poorly to this result things could start getting really ugly. This is our second thumping of the season.

Getting battered so often looks poorly on him. He's spent a lot of money this season so the knives will be out sooner enough if this continues.

It's literally one club at a far worse league. It shouldn't matter at all when evaluating his performance at United which is at the moment can't be described as anything bar "average" or "ok", no matter how people are trying so hard to convince themselves otherwise.

When an actual improvement occurs, it'll be obvious and we won't have to force ourselves to see it. At the moment, we're as shit as we're used to be.

Worrying just how badly he got it wrong today. And it was so obviously coming from the moment we got the team sheet.

Playing a two man midfield of Eriksen & Scott away at City was a disaster waiting to happen. I can’t work out what he was actually thinking, that we could outplay them?

I don't blame him for not changing a winning team but it was through riding our luck rather than it being good football.
It is not about changing the team, it is about completly wrong gameplan. Casemiro and Fred could have started would not made any difference. The match shows that all the
deification of ETH is about what people hope he will be as a manager and not what he is.

You shouldn't need years of planning to know that you don't go for manmarking their midfield. This shows that he still thinks he is managing the best team in a league with slow tempo.

We learned that during the 3 years of solskjaer. Most fans are wasting their money on their sport - they're better off just following the thing on Livescore or something.

Dude...you will be banned here for so many inconvenient truths.
Haha, just not impressed really ten games in. Any manager obviously needs longer but you can still critique a few things this early. I know our players are a bunch of wankers but 4-0 down at ht twice….

Yeah, because you and many know much better than the manager that oversees training. This ain't fecking FIFA where you just put in players with highest stats. Go follow fecking Poch.
Training? Fifa stats ?
What does any of this have to do with Casemiro being one of the best specialist defensive midfielders in the world and him playing behind a mug like Mctominay?

We are going nowhere under him. At least Ole got top 4 twice in a row.

We have a -5 GD in the league.

But yeah we have improved in comparison with last season because we nicked 1-0 wins against Leicester and Southampton.

If you couldn't see my point there, now I get why you have this mentality, you just don't get it, you should learn things are not black and white.

I’d imagine this is a shock, shouldn’t really be.
Really need to start again now, can’t play Scott and keep Casemiro out now based on form after this. Get Martial up there who can hold the ball up.
We aren’t playing City every week so no need to completely overhaul the midfield but this was naive as best

When you go to City you park the bus. There's no other way to approach the game. Naive beyond all belief to think we could go there with same midfield.

Hopefully he learns from this.

Regardless of results we’ve yet to see any kind of good football so far.

Didn’t want this bloke in the first place.. I’m finding it hard to warm to him on days like this. Sorry if that goes very much against the narrative on here.

Can you see why I said we're outsiders for top 4 yet?

It is City away with Haaland so it happens.no worries. But i would love that he just fecking stop playing McTominay and play 70 mil dmc who is one of the best for that position.

fecking ridiculous. I don't know what people expect - it's either the manager or the players. Last couple years we've rightly said it was the players but unless the new manager can make them play like a well oiled team in 5 games he's shit?

It doesn't go against 'narrative', it goes against common sense.

What point are you trying to make here? We should have kept Solskjaer? Or he's worse than Solskjaer? Either way its stupid
ETH has spent 200m+ and we are embarrassingly poor.
We are going nowhere under him just like Ole.

Casemiro was not his choice.

Mate, I know what your point was. It was a shit point. And a strange hill to die on when we’re losing a game 6-1 (likely to get worse) partly because of the decision making involved that has Mctominay starting ahead of Casemiro.

I think I should avoid forum for some time, the amount of knee jerk merchants coming out of their holes after this result is staggering, it will be a cesspool for some time.

And which manager is getting us somewhere, by your thoughts?
If ETH leaves tomorrow, he’ll get hired immediately and succeed anywhere.
What are your comments going to be then?

I thought even though it's in hindsight that Ericson or bruno should have been dropped to the bench and for Casemiro to sit alongside Mctominay who has been in form but was never going keep producing his recent performances up. As Neville said utd never settled.
Definitely lost momentum and ournintensity from having the break.
Ten Hag will have to dig deep and go again.
Hopefully he will learn something anout the character of these players.
Definatly a step backwards

Criticism is fine for a new manager, he made wrong decisions, which would be mistakes for him to learn from. But Holy feck, people writing him off after 7 matches, saying We should have kept Ole, this place man.
