Mods can add a poll

If you could have one who would it be.

I'd envisage both are c.£60m. Eriksen clearly worth more, but one year left on contract means a deal is there to be had. The obvious question is does he in the season he turns 28 wish to give away one of his best years for Europa. Also swapping London for colder Manchester. Flip side he will probably earn more and United's longer term ceiling is higher as we can keep investing and have a lot of young talent.

Fernandes is about 2.5 years younger, but is a gamble in the sense of can he translate his explosive Portuguese performances to the Premier League.

This is a rare occasion where the balance between youth and experience is finely poised.

I think Eriksen would be less exciting, but far more consistent. Given our young squad i think his experience in the heart of the team could be invaluable. It also would disrupt the strong understanding built up with Kane so has to be in our favour.

I could be swayed either way, but just hope we get one....and don't lose Pogba because that would be a foolish move

Eriksen on the basis that I’ve seen him regularly and always been impressed, he’s got a lot of the technique Mata possesses but is much more dynamic. Fernandes would presumably need to adapt to English football and I’d no idea how to assess his ability as I’ve only seen him once or twice for Portugal where he was quiet. I’d wager that most ( although not all) hankering for Bruno are doing so based on his statistics as I’d questioning how many times they’ve actually seen full games of him. Although that said I don’t think Levy would ever seen him to us.

Eriksen by a mile. He's not only premier league proven, he's among the best in the business.
So many players from the Portuguese league were hyped as the next big thing, only to flop massively elsewhere. With Eriksen there's no risk involved.

Eriksen on his day is world class. Bruno can be in the future but the dane is better for me right now.

For me, Eriksen all day every day. Has absolutely tonnes of PL experience and he offers such a high work and movement rate that Pogba (if he stays) doesn't have to be the fulcrum. He will be a superb partner in the middle of the park and will be more productive I feel, solely because of his experience.

I don't know how we are going to accommodate Eriksen and Pogba into a midfield 3 together with Matic. The defence will be so exposed with their disinterest in defending.

Eriksen for me. Fantastic player with excellent passing and playmaking ability. Very good stats. Again, PL proven and at an age where he will slot right in and upgrade our first 11 right away.

Bruno looks a prospect but I’d rather still have Eriksen.

Also it would take away so much pressure from Pogba to have to constantly deliver from midfield as we know Eriksen will produce the goods when needed. I feel like Bruno could be that player but he’s still a gamble at this point.

I’d be surprised if Matic is 1st choice this year, I think Scotty has usurped him in that role.

Eriksen is one of the best in the world at what he does. I don't really know how Fernandes is and he's only done it in the Portuguese league.

Eriksen is clearly the player you'd want.

Eriksen every day of the week. Premier League juggernaut. Fernandes is very exciting, but he has not played a day in the PL yet, a lot of players fall short of promise when moving to the British Isles

Erikson:
I admire this guy since he entered the pl. His Intelligence on the pitch is nearly incomparable. But i don't think that he gives up his standing in london. It will remain a wish of many, many United fans that he will sign for us. Let's hope, but don't expect too much.

Fernandes:
Unfortunately i haven't seen him playing sometime, so i can't make a realistic comparison with eriksson. He is younger, yes. But he hasn't played pl and from this point he wouldn't be the right choice in this moment for us.

Ericksen
- has English PL experience. Add at least £25m for that. Look at the attacking players who failed completely for us without it:
Mkhitaryan, Depay, Kagawa, Obertan, Henriquez, Bebe, Diouf, Manucho, Dong ....
It's normal for an attacking player without PL experience to fail for us.
- touted at £130m last year by Spurs. He's not worth that much but is worth more than Fernandes because I expect he'll make an immediate impact.

Fernandes
- has a higher ceiling than Ericksen IMHO.

Go for Ericksen because he'll make an immediate impact. I'd be shocked if Spurs sell him to us. I'm not biased here. Heart says Fernandes. Head says Ericksen.

Eriksen will cost us closer to £120 million than 60 surely.

If Eriksen signs for United, I will be shocked.

If I was Poch, I'd be leaving Spurs ASAP.

a major factor of course is our ability to sign each player

Spurs would make it very difficult for us

£120m is probably about right if he had a longer contract, but Spurs are looking at Fernandes/ Lo Celso so probably want money for them and also don't want to lose Eriksen for change in January or nothing next summer. No guarantee a player with just 6 months to go of contract doesn't say fcuk it, take the chance and run down contract for a massive pay day.

I'd choose Eriksen, but we'll get neither.
We have spent c£150M and that's far more than what the board would've anticipated.
My guess is that we'll sell some players to bring down the net spend to something around £70M.
We'll know for sure in about 1 month.

Both of them are set piece specialists to whip balls onto Maguire's skull so it's a win win.

Eriksen is class. Never seen Fernandes play, has good stats but in a worse league.

Eriksen. Don’t ask silly questions.
Ha, i thought the responses would be more spread given high stats and exciting nature of Fernandes. And Bernardo Silva is a recent example of serious Portuguese talent lighting up the Premier League.

That said you literally can't get much more of a high quality safe bet than Eriksen. He would instantly become our best player (certainly if expected consistency is taken into account).

I swear the number of people who are already on first name terms with "Bruno" is greater than the number who have seen him play a single match.

I’m thinking Bruno. More years on the clock. More industrious. Very high ceiling. Much Less wages. Right now Eriksen is the better player but in a different system and we’ve been stung by these type of transfers over and over in recent years. If this really is a project and we are trying to build something new then we should be signing the Bruno’s of this world, if he comes good he’ll be worth double what we payed for him in a few seasons.

Bernardo Silva had proven himself in France and the Champions League. Bruno Fernandes has not. He had a few subpar (stats wise and from what I've read) years in Italy and one great season in Portugal. Silva is also only a month older than Fernandes, so when Silva was tearing up Ligue 1, Fernandes wasn't great at Udinese/Sampdoria

The last couple of signings we made from Potugal didn't exactly light up the league. Rojo has been awful and Lindelof took a year to settle in and become a decent centre back.

The way I see it and it is purely based off of others opinions, Bruno is more of a leader in terms that he might push the team in tougher games and is more dynamic in sense that he brings hard work in defense. On the other hand Eriksen is more creative and proven against better opponents, but tends to go hiding in big games.

I'd like Bruno more although I'd take any of the two at the moment, but I don't believe we'll sign them.

Not watched enough of Fernandes to have an opinion on him, so can only go for Eriksen.

Eriksen knows the league and has more experience. I also think he sits deeper in the midfield which is exactly what we need.

Bruno Fernandes is really a number 10. If we play 4-3-3 I just can't see how you would play Fernandes and Pogba in the same midfield.

Yeah but Silva and Fernandes are very different types of player which is far more significant than what they have in common, i.e. being Portuguese.
