He wants to join his friend Sancho. Watch him get no service at Dortmund this year and be begging to link back up

I knew something was up when Solskjaer referred to him as Haalandy after Phil Jones ran the pitch and scored that amazing winner in the Champions League final, and then screamed ‘Pep did Benghazi’ into the goal camera

Given that people are describing him globally as the most exciting young striker on the planet and waving around 150m potential price tags, I doubt he's losing much sleep over anything at the moment.
Yeah, but - you cannot cash "being described" in a bank. Who is going to pay that price, realistically? Nobody. Pogba also thought he would leave United at 100M+ transfer fee but we can't sell him for even 50.

Donyell Malen looks legit. Witsel back from injury. Reyna and Bellingham taking a step. Reus, Brandt, Dahoud, Hazard and Guerreiro.

Looks like an excellent service pack 2.

Neymar went for 220m euros and Mbappe for 180m. It doesn't seem wildly beyond belief that Haaland could move for 150m.

That was before a devastating world pandemic, my friend. Nobody is going anywhere for even half of such fees, anytime soon.

You literally just spent about 90m euros on Sancho.
It's €85m and there's a difference(BIG DIFFERENCE) between that and €175m excluding Raiola and Alfie's agent fees plus Haaland's inevitably high wages that will take it to around €250m

With it looking like Chelsea are chasing Lukaku and City are after Kane then we could get an almost free run at Haaland next summer, Barca won’t be much better off financially next year and Real are flat out all in for Mbappe.

PSG can still blow us out of the park - and if they sell Mbappe they will be able to get Haaland with their pocket money.

Never rule out Madrid though. They have form for finding money from nowhere, like when they signed Ronaldo and Kaka in the same summer, I believe smashing the World transfer record with each transfer.

Haaland will want a challenging league that gives him a good chance of winning the Ballon D'or he's definitely not going to choose PSG he'll be 22 next year not 28/29
I definitely think Madrid can be our biggest challengers but the new Salary Cap in Spain may make it hard for them to afford the wages of Mbappe as a FREE AGENT as well as Haaland's at the same time

I’m not sure that’s so easy for them these days.

Pre Covid they’d just go to the banks or get the Madrid council to over pay for their training facilities, I could be wrong but I’m assuming that they’ve borrowed up to the hilt for their stadium facelift and the banks have said enough is enough.

I am sure he wants to play both in England and Spain. Next year he will move to a Premier League Club and further three years down the line he will ultimately end up at either Barcelona or Madrid.

A) If PSG win the Champions League, he can still win the Ballon D'or.
B) Money talks. Neymar and Mbappe have happily gone and stagnated their careers there when without Qatari's running around Paris, they would arguably be Barcelona and Real Madrid's main men now.

Haaland is a different type. I think our chances are very good next summer

If his career is being as thoughtfully managed as we’re led to believe, he will be steered away from the French league. Plus he will see the guy he’ll likely try to measure himself against already trying to get out.

A) They've spent the equivalent of 10 country's GDPs over the last few years with ZERO CLs to show for it. Even if they won it with Haaland it wouldn't be consistently enough for him to win or challenge for the Ballon D'or on a yearly basis like Messi/Ronaldo who played in leagues with far more coverage
B) Money does talk but remember we offered him more money than BVB and he still turned us down for Sporting reasons? His decision will not only be based on money which we can pay him. Mbappe is leaving them now or next year as a result of his career stagnation and Neymar dug himself in a hole he couldn't get out of both haven't turned out to be good decisions

Dortmund offered him starting, Man Utd had people that rightfully would start ahead of him at the time. It is not anymore than that. Not that his father had a grudge. Not that he snubbed Man Utd. Not that Raiola directed him away.
That's true to an extent, but I also think it was that Ole was in the most tenuous period of his managerial career here when Haaland was about to move. IIRC this was pre-Bruno, and we were having Lingard and Pereira as our joint no.10s. I think Pogba was in and out of injury at that point too.

Bayern, City, Barca, Real, Chelsea in no particular order would be our competitors for Haaland. Also depends on how we perform this season. Anything below top 4, we are out of competition.

Think he will go to Bayern as Lewa replacement.

City- Getting Kane
Chelsea- Likely getting Lukaku
Barca- Their wage structure is a complete and utter mess which will take more than a year to stabilize especially if Messi inevitably renews
Bayern- His wages and agent fees, Lewandowski still being there till 2023 and them being in the same league when he'll likely want to try somewhere new rules them out
Madrid are the only team we should worry about but if they get Mbappe AS A FREE AGENT they may be out the running due to the new wage cap in Spain

I feel this is a very obvious transfer to us next summer, City and Chelsea with potentially Kane and Lukaku in their ranks probably negates their need for Haaland,
And Bayern surely would not be willing to offer the enormous salary that Utd would offer, throw in the Sancho and Ole links, Cavani leaving, personally, I would be very surprised if he was not Utds new striker next year.

All of the above, plus United now have the Sancho link too.

Another thing people don't mention is Solskjaer. People can question his ability as an elite manager(personally think he's better than what people say) but if there's one manager we need to have on our side if we stand a chance of getting Haaland it's him. That personal touch and history on top of money and a good project can go a long way in swaying a player

Sorry, I'm never going to believe this will/can happen. Between now and next summer things will change and if they don't he still won't be coming here.

I’m pretty certain this lad will be the striker of this generation and that he’ll end up winning plenty. I would love to see him at United (but without Raviola preferably!) but I very much expect that he’ll go to Real or Bayern where he’d replace Lewandovski perfectly. These just seem like a good fit for him but if Kane doesn’t go to City then I guess they could pay huge sums to his agent (and dad). On the plus side we seem to do ok with older world class strikers coming in for short periods so we could go for Lewa if he gets replaced!

Harry Kane > Man City
Romelu Lukaku > Chelsea
Kylian Mbappe > Real Madrid

Erling Haaland > Manchester United??

Only real worry would be PSG and Barcelona... I'm liking our chances

Nice ideology. Do you apply that type of thinking to every thing in life?

Madrid could be possible if the current salary cap is altered in a years time otherwise it's VERY hard to see how they pay the wages of Mbappe as a free agent plus Haaland's
No chance he goes to Bayern. Lewandowski is under contract till 2023(and Bayern have publicly said they want to keep him till then), he'll want to try a new league(Haaland is a journeyman like Zlatan), his wages would cause even bigger issues than what's already there(Sane and Lucas Hernandez' wages cost them Alaba with Kimmich and Goretzka demanding high wages) and Bayern RARELY dance with Super Agents like Raiola

Same was said about Sancho, and Varane...

Maybe just maybe the club aren't such buffoons anymore with Ole in charge?

PSG might have Ronaldo or Messi if they lose Mbappe. Since Juve wants rid of him.

I'd say us and City are the 2 likeliest destinations for him by miles and people here are acting like we're fecking Tottenham or something. Sure, he'll join PSG, Barca or Bayern instead of us . The doom and gloom on this forum is actually unreal, making me never want to read it again. (I won't be a big loss, I know :))
