The 16th UEFA European Championship runs from June 11 to July 11, 2021, and to celebrate the tournament's 60th birthday, 12 cities across the continent have been selected as hosts.

  • Amsterdam (Netherlands) - Johan Cruyff Arena
  • Baku (Azerbaijan) - Olympic Stadium
  • Bilbao (Spain) - San Mames
  • Bucharest (Romania) - Arena Nationala
  • Budapest (Hungary) - Puskas Arena
  • Copenhagen (Denmark) - Parken Stadium

Rome's Stadio Olimpico will host the opening match on June 11, while England's national stadium Wembley will stage both semi-finals and the final.

The Euro 2020 group-stage schedule
Each stadium will host three group-stage matches, which are set to take place between June 11 and June 23.

Every host nation that qualifies will play a minimum of two games at home in the group stages. Should both paired nations qualify (eg. if England and Scotland both qualify they will be put into Group D) then a draw will take place to determine which nation will host their direct group-stage encounter.

The winners and runners-up of each group will reach the knockout stages, as well as the four best third-placed teams.

The knockout schedule
Each city will host one last 16 or quarter-final match, before London takes centre stage for the semi-finals and final. There is no third-place play-off.

The knockouts will run from June 26 to July 11

Round of 16
June 26: 1A v 2C, London - 2A v 2B, Amsterdam
June 27: 1B v 3A/D/E/F, Bilbao - 1C v 3D/E/F, Budapest
June 28: 2D v 2E, Copenhagen - 1F v 3A/B/C, Bucharest
June 29: 1E v 3A/B/C/D, Glasgow - 1D v 2F, Dublin

Quarter-finals
July 2: Saint Petersburg and Munich
July 3: Baku and Rome

Semi-finals
July 6 and 7: London

Final
July 11: London

Let's all hope fans can be in attendance!

Some mouth watering games in the groups stages with Group F being absolutely ridiculous. The Euros have far less minnows than the World Cup but some 3rd place teams qualifying for the knockouts is a piss off.

We could see a Greece type winner as the schedule all season is grueling and if there are no fans who the feck knows what could happen.

France are my pick and Portugal and Germany are the other favourites along with Spain, Belgium and England and you can never count out the Italians even with their current lack of star power. The Dutch have the easiest group on paper so perhaps they can rest players in their final group game.

VAR will be a talking point of course but let's hope the quality is high even after a condensed season.

I went to euro 2016 and World Cup 2018, but with 2022 being qatar and 2026 being USA (im american but know the prices will be 5x what outsiders are used to, the trips from downtown to where these stadiums are plus 'heavy handed' cops here....) I dont think it will be the typical tournament atmosphere people are used to

I have tickets for:

Sweden v Slovakia in Dublin
Russian v Denmark in Copenhagen
Portugal v France in Budapest
Round of 16 in Amesterdam
Round of 16 in Bucharest
QF in Munich
QF in Rome

I save up my vacation time for 2 years to make these trips work/ I work in a hospital in NYC so it's really hard for me to complain about a stupid footy trip when so many have lost so much more this year but it hasnt been easy....

But yeah I am pretty much already accepted it wont be the same, even if it happens.

My brother did the euros in Portugal and had a blast. I've always wanted to do a vacation centered around a tournament.

That's good your resigned to it.not happening. Although if fans are allowed it will be a party of epic proportions.

Shame there's no Ireland.

Also, I'm disappointed the Millennium Stadium won't be used, and that the Benito Villamarín won't be used at Spain. Both are beautiful.

Have tickets for I think the England v Croatia match, or possibly the England v Scotland one. It’s been so long I can’t remember. Also to one of the semis. Hopefully I’ll get to use them.

Presumably this won't go ahead in the current format? One or both of fans at games and multiple cities will surely have to be dropped?

Looks like England want to avoid winning their group, else will likely face Germany or France in R16.
If England come 2nd in group, will likely face Poland, Sweden, Slovakia in R16.

It’s a fine line playing that game. If you turn it off one game you can’t always turn it back on. If you want to win the tournament you’re going to have to beat a top team at some point so might as well play to win every game.

It’s also worth noting that we went out to a worse team than the 3 you just listed in the last euros.
