Spurs, they are entering the competition in the play-off round before the group phase, after 3 qualifying rounds.
Cheers. Just looked that up and it says that's a play-off round on August 9th and 16th. So a hectic early start following a Euro tournament. Yikes.

Those teams. I think I've heard of about 4 or 5 at most.

Are any other 'big' teams across Europe in this apart from Tottenham?

Roma. Villareal would've been it aswell so assume Real Betis take that place.

Hah. Roma vs Spurs final would be great - Jose vs Fonseca! Battle of the failed managers.

Bohs have drawn a Wi-Fi password from Iceland, I'm hoping the second leg in Dublin is played in Lansdowne Road and they allow fans. Our government is very unambitious though.

No, there's actually no team from Spain in it because of that final I tried to forget.
Real Sociedad and Real Betis qualified for the EL, however they could end up in the ECL, if they finish third in their groups. God, these competitions are becoming more and more a giant mess.

Is this the first tournament ever where it would be almost embarrising to win?

Although that said it gives Spurs a huge chance to end their trophy drought.

Alabama but always Wales in my heart
Mourinho turning Roma into his team already, goalless at Trabzonspur at half time. Roma fans can thrill to the sights of sub 40% possession, 2 attempts and none on target. I understand his caution though, the Turkish side do feature the sprightly pairing of Gervinho and Marek Hamisk who at 34 years old each are clearly hitting their peak.

Spurs' first game in the competition

Their opponents haven't posted lineups on twitter yet.
A big deal was made of Kane not travelling for this, but it looks like Spurs left most of their main players at home

The two Russian teams in this (Sochi and Rubin Kazan) have already crashed out. Another bad European season or two and the league will be going from 6th\7th to barely in the top 20 in record time.
